Good well thought out post, welcome on board
I dont think the board will be doing anything soon (possibbly if we dont make the top 6) but in all honesty I can see them not wanting to sack him in the summer either as it will cost too much. As for replacement managers, there is not any candidates jumping out which does help Calderwoods case with the board.
Listening to radio Scotland last night, I feared the worst when Chick Young uttered the words Richard Foster and Stuart Duff will be taking penalties. I was also very surprised that they sent up Duff first, but to be fair he was up for it and stuck it away (although I did think the worst when I heard it smack off the post). I would have thought that Smith/Mackie/Wright would have been up first.
Anyone know who was destined to take the last pen for us?
I have been away up in the Highlands the last three days, couldnt even get to see the game on the telly last night. I did get to see a lamb be pulled out of sheep fanny, it was pretty grim for 8 in the morning! Then this morning I saw a vet cutting open a dead sheep to get samples for a post mortem, which was quite surreal but not as surreal as coming on here to see everyone on the bandwagon
The reason I went for three at the back was I fell Mulgrew should be dropped for his poor defensive performances. Vidal has been poor too but pushing him forward and letting him use his pace and control of the ball when running would bring a good attacking dimension. Looking at the other options I cant see who to put in at left or right back so that is why I went for a three.
I agree we generally dont play well with three at the back but if Hamilton are only going to be playing one up front, lets give it a go.
Yeah, but pundits dont even try and explain a journeyman they just call them that as they know that the player in question is one.
Can anyone coherently explain any of the dictated FIFA committee football rules (especially the current guise of the offside rule)?
That is just one persons definition of journeyman, and that has been shortened to try and describe it in a neat way. Over the years I have heard several football pundits describe players as journeymen and the definition of 'experienced and competent' is no where near to covering the multitude of players which fall within that category.
For instance - Mark Yardley
Is experienced and competent the first words that spring to mind?
