  1. From the nonsense you were texting last night i'm not surprised!

I sent you a pic of some paps, hows that nonsense  ???

BRING ON THE RANGERS, BRING ON THE RANGERS, BRING ON THE RANGERS! But then I remembered the last time we sang that at Fir Park, we got pumped 3-0 at Ibrox...

  2. We were nil nil FFS, I'm no going to say it was sparkling football but we weren't getting beaten and Motherwell looked to be playing a similar game to us, although they did play better passing football in the middle, well, first half anyway.

Do you expect me to be positive when I have a killer hangover? No, boooooooooooooooo. There were positives  - I thought Condidine looked very good at the back. Is that better?

  3. I thought second half was a vast improvement and it was a far from highway robbery.

It certainly improved after Tommy came on, however it was looking like a draw and Well had the best chances from their corners, namely the Langfield save. It wasnt like we had hung on all game then nipped in at the end it was more of a we are having the 3 points and now we are leaving, goodbye

  4. I thought it was later when he was squaring up to Craigen.  Craigen certainly looked round and gesticulated toward the linesman as if something had happened

Right I have just got up and realised after reading a match report it was Craigen and nae the keeper incident......missed the one they are talking about then

  5. Final, and I'm afraid, negative point.  Booing our side 60mins into our 2nd game of the season really is pretty pathetic.  Take a look at yourselves guys, especially as it was otherwise a pretty good atmosphere, and an improvement on recent trips to fir park.

I think they were lucky they made it to 60 mins without getting booed, the football on display was atrocious! Are we meant to wait until we get hame and type into the computer we are disgrunted and dont like the football we saw or wait until the end of the season and say something? Like fuck if I am, they need to sort themselves out and Calderwood needs to think about his tactics.

That game was horrendous if we play like that I wont be going much this season.

  6. For those not there, it all started when a ball was lofted into the box and the keeper caught it in the air with Wright and a defender charging in. The keeper then makes a fud of himself by throwing himself to the deck to get a freekick, as the contact was minimal and with upper bodys not legs. Wright is nae happy (as any player should be) and tells the cunt exactly what he thinks face to face. They were right next to each other, but Wright never moved his head at any point and the keeper never went doon like he had been touched (giving his performance 10 seconds before, hes nae against going doon like a fairy).

Jimmy: Show me Eur good enough

‘Prove to me you want Europe’

DONS boss Jimmy Calderwood today challenged his men to prove they are serious about getting back into Europe.

Calderwood believes victory over Motherwell at Fir Park tomorrow would show they are capable of finishing third in the SPL and qualifying for next season’s UEFA Cup.

The Steelmen stole that slot last season – and helped their cause by beating the Dons three times and drawing the other of their four league meetings.

Calderwood, who looks set to leave new signing Tommy Wright on the bench but recall Zander Diamond, warned his players they will have to sort that out if they want to finish ahead of Mark McGhee’s side this time around.

Calderwood said: “If we want to make Europe we can’t afford to lose as many points to one of our main challengers again.

“They took 10 out of 12 points from the meetings last season and it cost us third spot in the end.

“We have to turn that around.â€

The Dons are also desperate to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-0 home defeat by Inverness Caley Thistle, which sparked an angry reaction from the Aberdeen fans.

Calderwood said: “The jeers from the Aberdeen fans were an eye opener for some of the new lads.

“I told them it’s a sign of the high expectations at our club.

“I also told them the Dons fans are brilliant when we are winning.

“It’s up to the players to earn some cheers this time. I’m confident they will.â€

Darren Mackie is expected to get the nod to start ahead of Wright, who still is not fully match fit.

Diamond is also set for a recall after being listed as a substitute for the Caley Thistle game.

Dons legend and Evening Express columnist Joe Harper criticised Calderwood for that, but the Dons boss insisted it was the right decision.

“I saw what Joe wrote and everyone is entitled to their opinion,†he said.

“Zander hadn't played enough games to merit being picked ahead of Andrew Considine and Scott Severin, who were in good form in Holland.

“It wouldn’t have been fair to drop one of them in favour of Zander.

“The goals in the Caley game weren’t just down to the defence either.

“We lost the ball in a bad position for the first and the other was a breakaway, when we had pushed everyone up in search of the equaliser.â€

Calderwood’s main complaint was the quality of service to the front men and they have worked hard on that in training.

“We’ve been urging them to stay calm and not try to force things too much,†he said.

“We have too many good players for them to start launching long balls up front all of the time.

“We work on passing football all of the time in training and they do well.

“They have to show they can do it under pressure.â€

The Dons have no fresh injury problems.

Motherwell are still without defender Brian McLean, who is recovering from a serious knee injury.

Darren Smith is pushing for a start following last Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Hearts at Tynecastle.

Derek Young and Zander Diamond came through a reserve game unscathed, so Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has a fully-fit squad.

Recent signing Tommy Wright could make his debut up front after playing against Inverness's second string.

Getting quite excited about the game (its my first of the season) but Im not expecting any fine football - but a result would be good!

  10. Aberdeen must have around 30 active supports clubs which are all separate and do their own things. The only contact our supporters club in Edinburgh have with the AFC is to order away tickets, and sometimes get invited to some general panels.

DONS boss Jimmy Calderwood today reassured their furious fans they will recover from their opening day SPL jitters.

The Dons left the pitch to a chorus of jeers after Inverness Caley Thistle dumped them 2-0 at Pittodrie.

It was the Highland side’s first victory over Aberdeen at the 18th attempt.

It also maintained the Dons’ curious record of failing to win an opening fixture since 2002, but Calderwood won’t be pressing the panic button.

He said: “We have brought quality in and it will eventually shine through. “It would be daft for anyone to write us off after just one game. “If we are still in this sort of position in three months I might start to worry, but I’m sure that won’t be the case.

“I had bargained on us being undefeated after the first six matches, so the Inverness result has caught me by surprise.“But we will bounce back quickly. “I have faith in the players to go to Motherwell at the weekend and get the result we want. “They have to put the Inverness result behind them and stay focused on keeping us up with the leading pack after those first half a dozen games.

“If they do that I’m convinced we will have a very good season.â€

Calderwood conceded that the Dons fans were right to express their frustration after witnessing yet another opening day slip up.

“I’m frustrated as well because we should have been able to see them off at home,†he said.

“Our home form last season was good, so that makes it more annoying. “The defeat will be seen as a wake up call, but I’m fed up getting those.

“How many times are we going to do things like this when so many things seem to be in our favour? “Every game against Aberdeen is like a cup final for Inverness, but we failed to react properly to that. We then allowed ourselves to get frustrated and the quality our play deteriorated.â€

Dutch winger Jeffrey de Visscher looks likely to pay the price for a lack lustre display by dropping back on to the bench.

Calderwood said: “Jeffrey is an honest lad and knows he should have done a lot better.â€

Zander Diamond, Derek Young, Darren Mackie and new signing Tommy Wright will feature at Fir Park.

All four will play in tomorrow’s Reserve League clash with Inverness at Brechin.
