  1. Prepare to be astounded then Big Al.. I've just had a txt saying that QPR have bid £6million EDIT.....and I see someone on the Hat has heard the same
  2. Think on his various loans he's mainly turned out at centre back. Certainly played there all last year for Rotherham. We definitely needed cover for Logan and this guy can do it but as has been been said by LA-Don...…...certain this is more to do with the fitness (or lack of) of Taylor and especially Devlin. The Mckenna situation might also have a bearing on it, if indeed as some papers are suggesting, he isn't going to be travelling to Croatia. EDIT...read article wrong....does indeed seem to be mainly a right back that can fill in at CH when required
  3. Jess at Tannadice 90/91 (I suspect it was very late 1990) but was in the correct season
  4. I'd be amazed if he hadn't. All we know for sure is that if there is a release clause.....it's higher than QPR's second offer (guessing it was £3.25milion). McKenna's new agent whoever he is will definitely know about it if there is. He's trying his luck hoping we would cave in knowing we had an unsettled player on our hands. And obviously if we sold for less than his contracted release clause figure....it might get McKenna a higher signing on fee. Which in turn nets the agent a bigger payment. Going to be very interesting tomorrow to see if McKenna is on the flight to Croatia. With what has happened, will his head be in the right place to play a vital match? Of course with Taylor definitely out and Devlin doubtful at best.....we may have no option. I'd love to know what the rest of the squad make of what's happened too. Mcinnes supposedly furious.
  5. Ambrose wouldn't be the worst shout IF we didn't already have a central defender that only plays 50% of the time. But we do. Actually Devlin and Ambrose I think would be a pretty effective pairing but chances are when one was fit the other would be on the treatment table and vice versa.
  6. Absolutely what I think will happen. Sevco would be the obvious destination but unless they manage to shed 3 or 4 players by the end of this transfer window, it's doubtful they could afford to. We would no doubt also be interested but if Ojo and Bryson stay fit, the only person he could usurp for a place would be Ferguson and personally I'd rather have Ferguson now anyway. So I think he'll end up at Hibs.

    Tansey

Claiming he was forced to negotiate his release from St Mirren as they were making him pay for an operation he needs (same groin injury he has had for 2 years....the one which kept him out with us for so long after 2 operations)
  8. My son is a St Johnstone fanatic. According to him (similarly to McKenna) the fans feel he hasn't really progressed as much as they expected in the second half of last season. I'd be amazed if we had to pay more than £600k for him, although as we are likely to do with McKenna, they'd probably insist on a fairly hefty percentage of any future sell-on fee
  9. Last I heard, Fulham were trying to get Hector onboard from Chelsea. Even if that were to fall through, just can't see it being a goer. He's bound to be on £20k/week minimum at Chelsea (even though in his 4 years there he's played ONE game for the club.....and that was a friendly).
  10. Nothing confirmed but Jason Kerr at St Johnstone and Stuart Findlay at Killie have been mentioned as possibles that might be within our budget. If McKenna were to leave, I think our preference would be for a left sided CH. Findlay I'm certain is naturally right sided, possibly Kerr too but Kerr certainly played on the left side alongside Shaughnessy on the right last season so maybe Kerr would be seen as the preferable option
  11. Timing suggests not. There's 4 weeks to go in the Scottish transfer window and Ajer hasn't left (yet anyway). With Celtic playing in Romania on Wednesday, they'll be too busy preparing for that today and will be flying out tomorrow, and with us flying out Wednesday to Croatia, there just isn't any need for the rush. This is definitely his agent's doing and it's to England that McKenna wants to go. I honestly didn't think he would put in a transfer request at this point, but money talks. I'm guessing he's on around £4k/week with us but a Championship club could treble that, maybe even quadruple it and not break sweat. Whatever transpires.......both McKenna and his agent now come out looking like total cunts
  12. Rhecord now saying that the timing of it has infuriated DM and there's no way he will be sold unless a bid that matches the club's valuation is received.
  13. Nah he's wanting out. Talk now of an EPL club showing interest. Villa back in maybe? I did find it strange he would try to force a move to QPR or Forest at this point but if it is a Premiership club then it makes sense. EDIT...BBC website now going with the transfer request ana
  14. And it's Larnaca or Gent if we take care of Rijeka. Best we could have hoped for I think
  15. Being reported on Talksport and in the Sun that McKenna has handed in a transfer request this morning. I heard that rumour early on (10ish) but presumed it was just that...a rumour. Doubtless unsettled by us turning down the QPR and Notts Forest offers and his agent will no doubt have told him to take this action. Wonder if he will be on the flight to Croatia on Wednesday?
  16. Can confirm that Miller definitely said a draw would have been a fair result
  17. Derby have reportedly turned down an offer of £1.5million from Brentford for the loon. Preston also interested apparently.
  18. I can understand Mcginn being rested but not sure I agree with resting Hedges. Hearts are a team of 6 foot plus bruisers. Sure they are susceptible to being attacked with pace but first of all we have to match them physically. Hedges is 6ft himself and a lot bulkier than either Wilson or Wright. I hope I'm proven wrong and we stick 5 past them but I just feel neither of the 2 brought in offer much in the way of helping out when Hearts are attacking.
  19. Hopefully we play an unchanged side from the one that started last night as nobody deserves to be dropped after that performance. Bryson can wait his chance until someone gets injured or loses form. We can afford to experiment a bit with line-ups in the League Cup. You would have to expect Hearts to provide a sterner test that the Georgians, but having said that their showings pre-season and in the League Cup groups have been underwhelming to say the least. Naismith as far as I'm aware is fit and has been training with the Jambo's since the start of pre-season, just hadn't signed a contract until yesterday due to some loophole where the PFA in England pay out of contract players the equivalent of 1 months salary at their previous club if they haven't been snapped up by a new club a month after their contract ran out. Hopefully the odious git snaps a cruciate on Sunday leaving Hearts bitterly regretting awarding him a 4 year contract. 3-0 (Considine, Cosgrove, Gallagher)
  20. I'll go 75 points
  21. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas game over
  22. Knocking it about well, Hedges as requested is on fire and Cosgrove had to come good. Just keep our concentration now and it's in the bag
  23. I think it depends on Leigh. If he is fit then it'll be the usual 4-5-1. If he doesn't make it (or isn't risked to start) then I agree it'll be a 3-5-2. Really hoping Hedges finally catches fire and runs riot down the left. Cosgrove must eventually bury a couple of crosses. However on the downside....we still have it in us to lose stupid goals and I can see us doing so tonight. I'll stick with my 3-1 prediction with us getting the 3rd that finally kills the tie in the last 7 minutes or so
  24. Sevco claiming the story is coming from Morelos' representatives Slippy was apparently furious at his presser earlier.....got irritated at the journos all questioning him about it and said he would try to get Morelos out in person so he could answer. Looks like Freddo is trying to work his ticket outta Govan asap.
  25. Hedges is certainly an automatic pick for the time being anyway. He's looked good in flashes when running at defenders. 2 of our competitive games have been away from home and in one he was forced into playing left wing back for a fair chunk of the game and didn't look comfortable but hopefully it won't happen again. His direct competitor for a place in the side would seem to be McLennan and he (as far as I'm aware) is still injured. McGinn was our best player at Pittodrie against RoPS. Again, he hasn't looked great in the 2 away games but our playing style is different in those games and of course, injury to Taylor early on against Chikhura forced formation changes that had not been planned for. He's certainly ahead of Wright in the pecking order. If there is a place in the team where Wright MIGHT be able to force his way in it's in place of Gallagher, but with Taylor and Devlin out for sure and Leigh doubtful, forced formation changes make it doubtful he will.
