  1. I really doubt very much Hoban is one of them (for now anyway). There is absolutely no guarantee that he will ever be fit enough to play again and I don't think any team will risk giving him a contract until he has completed his rehabilitation and likely join up for a trial period thereafter to prove his fitness. Cruciates generally are 9 months out minimum....that's November. Then he would have to build up strength in the knee plus regain his conditioning that was lost being unable to train regularly.....so at least January I'd say at the earliest before anyone would risk taking him on trial. Also bear in mind what we pay our players is significantly less that the money he was on at Watford (reputedly 12k/week). He would get nowwhere near that joining us (though his options will likely be VERY limited given he has done both knees in)
  2. Just read a bit more that was posted overnight.....it was a q+a for corporate season ticket holders... There was a fair amount of interest in Lewis prior to him signing new deal and the deal "had to be structured in such a way that was acceptable to both parties"...….hmm smells like a release clause if certain fee is bid by another club. GMS and Shinnie will be fit to play in final match of season against Hivs...GMS "likely" to go to MLS once contract expired Ethan Ross to feature prominently next season As usual there will be loans....budget needs adhered to, loans allow this to be stretched as far as possible Captain could be Logan, Lewis or McKenna or a couple of the new players ( hmm no Devlin?? also on another thread Paul Coutts has been released by Sheff U....wife wants to move back to Aberdeen asap apparently......) Mentioned how poor refs were. Obviously doesn't like Gerrard very much. And apparently the finger buffet was excellent..
  3. Since he signed the extension, seems a groundswell of support for Lewis to get it. I've never been a fan of goalkeepers being captain, suppose if he has no fitness issues then Devlin would be the obvious candidate ( but given he has struggled to replace Consi in the team since returning to "fitness" in Feb coupled with our very public courting of Shaughnessy....I have grave concerns about his long term fitness). And of course on the other thread I mentioned about what DM said in his q+a the other night....one of the potential signings expected in next 2 weeks is "potential captain material"....of course Shug is St J captain (well was till he announced he was offski)
  4. Well Dom Ball we know is in negotiations and I think he will be one. Shaughnessy??? Who knows? And then there is the Safranko rumour that surfaced late Tuesday
  5. Fairly certain Anderson not available. Actually reasonably confident about this one, word is Hearts are resting their big striker who bullied our defence in the last game at Tynecastle (Ikpeazu)…..and probably a few others to keep them fresh for the Cup Final. Logan was out on his feet by the time he was replaced against Celtic but hopefully an extra week's training has him able to complete the match. A I've said elsewhere, this one is a must win if we are to finish third. Can't be relying on Hivs and especially sevco in the last game to get anything at Killie.
  6. If it's the same thing as reported on the Hat, it involved DM, Lewis and Shinnie. Expects 7-8 signings over the summer with 3 maybe 4 of them announced within the next fortnight.....one of which would be considered potential captain material.
  7. Safranko's parent club apparently want £100k to release him. Have only seen a few brief glimpses of the loon in action. Looked ok but never got me thinking that he would in any way become a target for us. Macleod is an interesting one. Was considered the "next big thing" whilst at sevco and I was amazed to then see him sign for a club in the lower reaches of the championship. Pretty much instantly copped a serious knee injury...…...so ticking all the DM boxes there.....and out for over a year IIRC and has struggled to get much game time ever since. We certainly need a creative midfielder and he would seem to fit the bill but he's really not developed over the past 4 years. Doubtful he will have many options, so wouldn't be averse to offering him a 12 month contract to see how he does on a low basic wage, with built in bonus for each game he plays.
  8. Just over a week ago, that utter fud and Skeletor lookalike Alex Rae was actually advocating on Radio Clyde that, with only a year left on his contract, the arse cheeks (but more especially sevco as he thinks Foderingham will be allowed to leave in summer) should have attempted to sig Lewis as a back up to their first choice 'keepers. That went well C@nt has been utterly silent on the matter since the news broke about Joe's contract extension.
  9. Derby in the play offs. I dinna think they'll get through them but if they somehow fluke it they'll be using their newfound wealth to buy virtually a whole new starting 11 as the squad they have at present is in no way capable of keeping them there. Shinnie will do ok at them so long as they stay in the Championship but if they go up then I can see him being allowed to go out on loan as early as January
  10. I think we would let May go for free but with him being at the top end of our earners, unrealistic to think anyone will bite without us subsiding 50-75% of his wages. I'm gutted it hasn't worked out for him, no one could ever doubt his effort and commitment. Really quite bizarre he can no longer score goals, after his knee injuries you would think it would be his pace that might have suffered.....goal-scoring is just instinct. Best option I think would be to allow him to head out on loan (us covering 100% of wages) for 6 months if anyone is interested. If he rediscovers something...great bring him back and get him a run in the team. If he bombs...well we are stuck with him till 2021.
  11. They held on. 4th guaranteed....
  12. FFS 2 minutes to go, leading 1-0 and that thug arsehole McGregor gets himself sent off for yet another kick out at a player. Sevco have made all their subs.....Ryhun taking over the 'keeper's jersey Ref has given a free-kick just outside the box but could easily have given a penalty for it EDIT....they changed their mind and put McCrorie in goals instead
  13. Was discussed on the Hat around lunchtime......general consensus is that Nixon isn't as "ITK" as he would have you believe and he's taking a flyer on this one, using known facts to build a basis for his story. Yes Magennis has just been relegated at Bolton and they are very very likely to try and offload him for free in the summer. And of course his wife is a local quine. And yes big pals with McGinn. However the move would only make sense IF we were offloading Cosgrove. We certainly don't need 2 battering ram centre forwards. However.....I certainly wouldn't be averse to it happening if indeed Cosgrove were to be sold. I don't think we'd let him go for any less than £750k given his goals and length of contract. So even though Magennis would command a higher wage, we would still make a handsome profit on the deal and bag ourselves a current NI internationalist with over 40 caps to his name. At 29, we'd get a good 3 years out him barring a bad injury.....Cosgrove still is only raw talent. He might flourish but equally if he got a move to the Championship he could well be out his depth and end up in EFL2 or lower within 18 months.
  14. Agree with everything KFP has said bar the concern about 3rd place. It will be close I think and it's possible we could be edged out for 4th on goal difference which would be horrible to witness. But beat Hearts at home and get a point at least at Hivs then I think we will pip them to 3rd. As it happens, sevco are 1-0 against Hivs as I write.....if it stays like that then that's us guaranteed 4th. Just cannot see any circumstance (well other than a very early red card) where Celtic won't bury Hearts in the Cup Final so we will be in Europe by 5.30pm all things going well.
  15. Wilson again!!! How the f@ck did he miss that?
  16. How much better do we look with a proper right back playing and Ball playing in his best position? Wilson really should have burst the net with his chance. Even Stewart is playing well. More of the same please... COYR!
  17. I could (at a push) envisage them sitting back and not risking losing a goal, a draw gives them the title. But there's no way on God's earth that they'll allow us to win under any circumstances
  18. Ten Caat

    Betting

10-6 now and he played like a dog....should really have been 11-5 down. Dramatic improvement required, as it stands I think the bookies have got him underpriced
  19. Burridge was a decent stand in ana….mad as a box of frogs but never let us down
  20. McNulty only on loan at Hibs (From Coventry??). Agree if we could get him on board it would be a great bit of business. Doubt they'd be too difficult to deal with and surely we could offer him a better package than Hibs.
  21. I was in the same class at school ad Ernie McGarr's younger daughter (by that time he was with East Fife). She was fucking wild. Old Ernie was a good lad though. Could sink a pint or 10 most nights of the week
  22. Fantastic news, don't really think LA_Don's cynicism will prove to be anything other than that. Loon and his family love the lifestyle up here which proves that chasing big bucks down south is not always a player's prime motivation. Although every player does have his price....I'm sure if an EPL club came in then he would be offski but he's ensured that we at least would get full market value and a bit more on top now. But I hope he sees every last day of his contract out with us of course.
  23. As an aside to this game, that odious little Skeletor lookalike Alex Rae was on the Clyde 1 phone in last night advocating that sevco look to sign Joe as a back up to McGregor this summer as he seems to have inside knowledge that they are allowing Foderingham to leave. The arrogance of those sevconian chunts knows no limits
  24. Personally I'd have Stewart cleaning the bogs till his contract expires and if we have to throw a couple of young eens in for this then so be it....our games that will really count are those against the Edinburgh duo. Looks like we have no option other than to play Devlin from the start. I'd be putting Halford in a right back and getting Ball into midfield to cover the lack of Shinnie. Really cannot see anything other than another defeat.
