Don't agree about the wages. In the average wages of 2017, we were 3rd highest in SPFL at £2630/week. Killie were down in 8th at £1060/week. They got Stewart on loan on a very cheap contribution to his Birmingham weekly wage of £6k/week. (£1500/week). We were paying £2500/week in his first spell with us. They got him so cheaply as there was nobody else that wanted him! Admittedly, Clarke got him playing well for him in a system where he was not expected to do any defensive donkey work. That got us interested again and Birmingham (whose financial problems are well publicised) saw an opportunity to get a higher portion of his wages covered again ( rumoured again to be £2.5k/week). Killie obviously saw the value he brought to them and agreed to match our offer but by then the deal was done with us....unsurprisingly with his Birmingham contract coming to an end (and possibly already with the promise of a contract from us in the summer) he chose to rejoin us with the chance to put himself in the shop window at a club with a far higher level of media exposure. What is undeniable is that Clarke for sure is getting far better value out of his squad and his recruitment "hit or miss" level is far more impressive than Mcinnes'. As you say, he is out of our league now as his next move when he inevitably leaves Killie will be either to the English Championship as a manager outright or the English Premiership as an assistant......either option on wages far higher than we could get close to ( there is maybe a small chance that Celtic would consider him for their hotseat, especially if Lennon doesn't win them the Scottish Cup).

Agree about Ferguson and Cosgrove. Lowe to an extent ( been excellent but at the end of the day he's a loan and as things stand will be returning to his parent club next month). Devlin looked the pick of the bunch when the season started. However it has to be remembered he was injured long term when he joined us and spent 6 months getting himself fit. We got 3 very good months out of him, deservedly getting a Scotland call up only to return from it injured (not even in a match). Followed by another near 3 months out and since considered "fit" to return has mainly been a substitute and when called on to play has been nowhere near the standards set at the start of the season. I think in view of this, plus his previous injury history, the jury must remain firmly out. ( As I've said before, our ultimately unsuccessful pursuit of Shaughnessy seems very suspicious)

Neil Lennon No discernible footballing talent, no physical presence (other than being fat) and slower than a week in Murmansk suffering food poisoning. Yet somehow had a career winning plenty silverware and retired a millionaire a few times over. And now repeating the feat as a manager.

Problem with Hoban is that it's unlikely he will be fit for the start of next season ( there is also a fair chance he might never be fit enough to play ever again). Whilst Watford certainly wont be offering him a new contract, I'm certain they will allow him to use their medical, physio and training facilities until such point as the loon will be able to say for certain that he will or won't be able to play again. With cruciate injuries it's considered 9 months plus out so the earliest he would be in a position to play would be November. We really couldn't risk giving him a contract in summer in the hope that he will be fit at some point. Only once he is fit to do full training would it be worth the risk. But even then he would have to accept a very low basic wage but with appearance bonuses on a contract that (at least initially) would only run till the end of next season. On the money he is used to being on at Watford, he might not find that too attractive a proposition (of course he will probably find his options very limited anyway). The boy is obviously a talent but has suffered horrendous luck with injuries. I'd like to think we could get him onboard once he's fit but as things stand I'd say it's very doubtful we will see him wearing the red shirt ever again.

Well it was comfortable in the end, indeed could easily have finished 4-0 without their keeper making a few very good saves. Once we scored the penalty, result was never in doubt but up to that point......dear oh dear it was bad and Dundee probably the better side. All the defenders played well, of the rest Ferguson probably the pick with Shinnie giving his usual energetic performance. Obviously Cosgrove gets a mention for his goals, though did little of note other than that. McLennan had been honking up until we took the lead but seemed to take confidence from us having the lead and laid the second on a plate for Cosgrove. Stewart..........what can I say? Nothing he tried came off and at 0-0 his reluctance to use his right foot when clean through on the right side of the box was criminal/embarrassing. As I said in an earlier post, DM says that he's carrying a hip injury. So why the hell he was selected at all, never mind playing 80 minutes was baffling. His body language throughout suggested he would rather have been anywhere else than on the pitch. Probably will eventually be viewed as a good 3 points against a team fighting for their survival....although as I said earlier, once we scored we did look a class apart from them. Looking a bit ominous for Dundee right now with the Hamilton/St Boo result going against them. Onwards to next Saturday. Will need a far better 90 minute performance if we are going to reach the Final although by all accounts it seems Celtic were very poor today.

2-0 Cosgoals with another double!
-
Yaaàaaas!!!! Cosgoals!
-
Penalty!

Stewart sent clear into the box in the inside right channel. Could have shot or could have squared to Cosgrove. Does fucking neither ....I wonder if you can guess why? McInnes said yesterday he's carrying a hip injury. So why the hell are you playing him you fucking arsehole??
-
Normal service resumed....like playing a man down with Stewart in the side. F@ckin eye bleedingly dire.

Hivs come back from a goal down to lead 2-1 at Tynecastle with 20 minutes to go. Hearts been the better side for most of the game and denied a stonewall penalty right on half-time. Could really do with them nicking an equaliser, Hibs will close to 3 points behind us as it stands

Caravan dwellers lose a goal nearly 4 minutes into injury time against Coonty costing them a victory and likely any chance of automatic promotion. Much as I miss an away game at Tannadump...............pahahahaha

Definitely a huge rebuilding job to be done. McKenna likely to be gone but we will be furnished with big fat cheque for £6 million.....maybe a bit more if we can get 2 or more clubs into a bidding war......although the vast majority of it will go on the new stadium. McInnes will get a million of it to spend on 2 or 3 players. I don't think Gleeson will be offski as you predict. He's bound to be one of our top 5 paid players so on £4k plus/week. Don't see many EFL clubs wanting to take him on that kind of wage when he has featured so little for us and when his ability to play a full 90 minutes effective is seriously in question. If Derby go up (doubtful but possible) they will access funds that will probably enable Lampard to sign a whole new first 11. On that basis Lowe might just become available for a permanent transfer, especially as they have 4 further left backs on their books who were all considered ahead of him ( 2 are out with long term injuries but should be back by the start of the new season). By all accounts he loves it up here and we should definitely at least ask the question. We will need a first choice left sided CH. I'd go for Jason Kerr at ST J though he won't be cheap having just signed a new contract there. We know that we have certainly offered his team mate Shaughnessy a contract. You would have thought he would have snapped it up by now as it will be way higher than St J can offer....I wonder if he wants a guarantee of being first choice. Devlin would be his direct challenger for that spot. And his injury absence has been worrying to say the least.... Obviously we will need a replacement for Wilson. Stewart? No idea what McInnes is thinking regarding him. His performances don't warrant a contract offer but DM sees something in him that most everyone else doesn't. If the sevco rumour is true that is where he will be heading but I really don't think it is. Ball I think will take up our offer. He will likely replace Shinnie on a 1 for 1 basis, but young Campbell will for sure get a lot more first team exposure next season and should relegate Ball to being a squad player by the start of season 20/21, perhaps even a wee bit sooner.

Yep having seen the respective list of fixtures, I think Liverpool will sneak it on the last day, possibly by needing to beat Wolves to confirm it but with a draw and a Citeh win giving the title to them on goal difference.
-
Agree he was an excellent servant to the club, an ideal role model for any youngster setting out in the game and leaves with our thanks for his service. That said...he has certainly landed on his feet getting a 3 year deal. And if United get promoted (I'd say it's 60/40 that they will, very doubtful they'll make it automatically but they should reach the play-off final comfortably. Once there they most certainly can beat Dundee, St Mirren or Hamilton if they play to their capabilities) I doubt there would be any Premier division striker not rubbing his hands at the prospect of facing him

I won't bite on your "understanding of not fitting our system" quote...….I absolutely guarantee I understand systems of play better than you do. (I will reveal here that I played the game professionally until sustaining a cruciate injury that in the mid 80s was a career ender. I was looked after well by my parent club....it occurred when loaned out to a lower league club to gain playing experience......My left knee has a carbon fibre graft holding it together which at the time was the gold standard of repairs) When he takes corners.....look how often he fails to get it past the first man.

The goal where he hit a shot with his right that rebounded off the Killie defender straight to McGinn? I was right behind it in the RDS lower. The keeper had his shot covered, I've not watched the highlights of the game yet as I didn't get home till 11.45 but his shot to me didn't even look that well struck. But as I said in the match thread....I do concede when he replaced young Campbell we instantly looked a bigger threat. (up to that point Campbell had been the sitting midfielder with Shinnie advanced. After the substitution, Shinnie dropped a bit deeper to allow Stewart to play the advanced role).

Just in, glad I made the journey up, a win always makes the effort worthwhile. Overall well but worth the win but when they equalised my thoughts were "oh no not again" and feared the worst. We had plenty possession and territorial advantage but they looked fairly comfortable until the minute they lost their 'keeper. First thing their new one did was to pick the ball out the net. Lowe and McGinn get my votes as equal m.o.m. for obvious reasons but Shinnie and Considine both very good also. Everyone knows my opinion of Stewart but tonight he certainly made a difference after replacing Campbell. McLennan very poor, no idea what is delaying GMS from returning (beginning to wonder if we will see him in an Aberdeen jersey again) but if he were fit then he should certainly be taking McLennan's place who hasn't done much of note in the past month foreby his goal v Hearts. Ball also starting to look what he is....a midfielder filling in a position he really isn't comfortable playing. Defensively fairly sound but pretty wasteful when going forward. Thankfully we at least have the monkey off our back of the first league win at home this year. Other results tonight went for us (I've given up on second, can see us closing in on sevco but 8 points is just too much with 6 games their goal difference effectively makes it 9 points). I expect us to end up making a 3rd trip to Easter Road after the split. We have a better record there than Tynecastle which would be the other option for a 3rd away trip. I'll take a punt our fixtures will be.....sevco (a)........Hearts (h).....Celtic (h).....Hibs (a)........Killie (a)

Is the correct answer. Hitting the road in 15 minutes. COYR!

I briefly went out a girl from Mayfield when I was 17/18. Banged her in the fenced off tennis court in Nitton (Is it still there?)……..hoor of a climb over must've been 15 feet at least. Anyway I'm in for this one. Even better, younger brother is paying. 2-1 ( og, Devlin)
-
Aye that's the story I heard...…..with a 15% sell on fee. Not sure where the 22.5% rumour came from but now that Rico mentions it there is something lighting up in my mind saying I've heard that somewhere ana. Don't remember ever posting it but at my age the memory is starting to go a bit so I couldn't say for definite that I didn't

The pictures circulated in today's press are damning. It's a punch no doubt even if Brown made a huge meal of it. No one shoves anyone with a clenched fist.
-
That's pretty much it yes.

Ok I will repeat just for you... DM requires his players to track back, to press the opposition to put in tackles when we are not in possession. Stewart cannot do this. Ever. I have described him as a "luxury" player. We already have one such player in Cosgrove, who in general is excused from the donkey work I have described further up the page (even he actually does try to do a bit, but his size and mobility make it a bit of a stretch to say that he does it with any great effect). We cannot afford 2 luxury players in the same side. And.........Stewart is just nae very good. He had a decent half season with Kilmarnock where, as their luxury player, was excused all donkey work. Ditto in his time at Dundee. His time with us and Birmingham....far bigger clubs......have shown him up for what he is. A totally one footed, horrendously slow, one trick pony with a moderate talent for taking free kicks (but a shite talent for taking corner kicks). All in all.....a poor man's Ian Angus And I have absolutely no doubt McInnes will offer him a permanent contract.....
