  1. hardly new information......Shankland himself was in the press around Xmas time issuing a "come and get me" request to der hun
  2. He will be lucky to get half of what we were paying him down in Paisley. He certainly wouldn't go down to make any less than what he was due to be paid for the rest of his contract here. So we certainly haven't just given him a token pay off. It will be at very least half of what we were due him for the remaining 18 months and as I've already said, probably a touch more to ensure he left (He will have relocation costs, new house etc)
  3. We all have a go at the Rat for joining sevco and did the same to Robertson, Wright and Theo when they joined oldco. Just not something I could do if I were in that position. As for advancing his career.......really? From the minute he got there it was obvious his heart wasn't in it...and sevco realised that pretty sharpish too. Only thing that advanced was his bank balance.
  4. Had 18 months left on contract. Would guess we have given him 12 months cash up front in order to get him to f@ck off now. He would only have been paid somewhere around our average wage.....at £3k/week we have saved ourselves somewhere in the region of £75k in doing so. Hardly a fortune but should be enough to cover the pay rise Cosgrove just earned himself.
  5. Not sure what O'Halloran you have been watching but he is only similar to GMS in that they both earn a crust playing football for a living. His one asset is his lightning pace.....which coincidentally is his one way of taking on a defender.......boot the ball beyond and outpace him. Fine if the defender is last man but there's usually cover....GMS operates on a totally different level. Oh and despite being a rabid Dhim (his father is actually a paid member of their coaching staff ffs) he chose to join sevco (pretty disastrously as it turned out though no doubt the £6k/week turned his head a bit) so not really of the moral fibre I'd want at our club... Expect to hear he's on a 'plane to Dubai in tomorrows papers
  6. He's been gone too long
  7. Stoke fire Rowett. McInnes installed as 4th favourite at 8/1 with Paddy Power (Moyes favourite at 10/11)
  8. Nope it's a player he is after and its a left back.....Josh Tymon
  9. If you mean in regards to taking one of their players......why the board and not their manager? 2 players spring to mind who could be available for loan. Charlie Adam.......big old hun, big old belly, at 33 bound to be slowing down (he was never even average paced) and taking him on board would surely mean DM abandoning his usual tactics of safety first. Nope can't see it being old Charlie. So that leaves a striker. Which we do need. Now who (possibly) could be available for loan that hasn't been getting games for Stoke? I couldn't be? Surely not? DM trying to outdo sevco in the geriatric legends race? Or maybe fancies an upgrade from big Gash's wife? No.......just no!
  10. Supposedly playing one final game for Farense later today then flying out to Dubai to join the Hivs squad there
  11. Everton have been my English team since I was 8. So the the thought of either Liverpool or City winning the league doesn't exactly fill me with joy either way. Undeniably Liverpool play football the way it was meant to be played so on balance I'm wanting them to come through in the end. Well unless Spurs can go on a long winning run and pip them both which would definitely be my preference but I am a realist...
  12. Hayes would be a backward step but sadly just the kind of poor acquisition DM often seems to make
  13. newco circumvents FFP regulations because they get funded by soft loans from their directors with the promise of converting these loans into shares eventually ( once their criminal chairwanker turns up in court and agrees to put funds in place to underwrite the the share offer he has been avoiding for about a year now) They look like they are putting all their eggs into one basket and now trying to stop 8IAR this season. Dhims will spend enough to ensure that won't happen.......next year will be make or break for sevco, if the outlay for Defoe isn't backed up by a title win and access to Champions League qualifying run I thin these directors will close off the funding stream. At which point sevco could start the process of going the way of their dead predecessors
  14. Presumably in the circumstances the boy Doidge at Bolton will have to return to his parent club (Forest Green Rovers IIRC). Even in a team struggling at the bottom of the Championship, 1 goal in 17 games is a pretty uninspiring return. EFL2 is probably his level so hope to hell we don't make a bid.
  15. Killie said last night Jordan Jones would be staying till his contract ended. However having signed the pre-contract with sevco earlier today, he's fired out a gloating tweet about how proud he is to join newco and ending it "WATP" Naturally Killie fans are going tonto and want him out asap but if he stays, want him to play no further part all season. Guess who Killie play on the resumption of the league........
  16. Radio Clyde saying that the boy Kamara from Dundee and Jordan Jones both passed medicals with sevco and expected to sign pre-contracts later this evening. Meanwhile we trundle on towards the date the squad fly out to Dubai looking like there will be no new faces joining them on the plane. Why on earth do we leave doing transfer business to the very last minute?
  17. Really don't believe sevco will be paying anywhere near 50% of Defoe's wages. Even if he was "only" on the £85k/week reported that would be over £40k/week they'd be shelling out. And as Mordor is already full every week it's not as if they could gain extra numbers in their crowd to cover this outlay. As I've said before, I reckon they'll be covering somewhere between £20-£30k per week. Bournemouth will be happy just to get a fair chunk of his wages covered.....taking a middle figure of £25k/week, over the 18 months of the loan saves them just shy of £2million. With his lack of game time and advancing age, they will surely feel they've hit the jackpot finding a club as stupid as sevco willing to take him off their hands even though he will still cost them well over £4million over the 18 months.
  18. Sky sports are running with Jermaine Defoe to sevco on an 18 month loan as being a done deal. He's on astronomical wages at Bournemouth....I believe £85k/week but seen some reports of £120k/week. Now there's not a cat in hell's chance sevco could afford to cover even half of that level of wage......UNLESS they know they are going to receive a bid of £10million plus for Morelos and intend cashing in. Even then I really can't see sevco covering much more than £25k/week. At 36 he doubtless has a great pedigree but I suspect he will come up here expecting, like others have recently, to piss it in a diddy league. He will find it a lot more physical than expected and a lot faster too. Here's hoping he does a cruciate before February is out and there is no automatic return clause to Bournemouth in event of injury, leaving sevco up shit creek. EDIT....Bournemouth have 2 recall options, in the summer and next January
  19. So having been involved in 3 incidents in the last Old Firm clash, Morelos is once again cleared of any wrongdoing. 2 of them were probably correct but how the hell he has gotten away with a blatant stamp is just beyond belief. Either the Compliance Officer (a woman) is incompetent or the SFA have given up all pretence of being impartial and are now acting openly in favour of sevco
  20. He's not wrong.....only Scottish club that might get Jones are sevco but really expect him to end up in the English Championship. We all know we need a number 10 and I've been advocating Scott Allan but he was pictured at Easter Road the other night attending the Hearts game so expect that is where he will end up. DM has stated we need a striker with Anderson out 2-3 months and that is where any cash will go. Left back also a priority but have a feeling we will end up going down the 6 month loan route for this......lets hope we get one of a similar standard to Lowe.
  21. Stockley to Portsmouth now seems to be the call
  22. That is exactly what I'm telling you... EDIT.......and have been consistently since September.
  23. Which bit about " He only has the stamina to last 60 minutes before he runs out of gas and needs subbed" do you not understand? Yes the boy has talent, probably the most of all our midfielders. But until he can play a full 90 minutes he will remain a bench option only unless we are in dire emergency with a run of injuries to other midfielders.
  24. Hunjack gives sevco the lead against the dhimmery
  25. But we didn't. We did our recent usual and lost albeit fairly closely. Our only recent win against them was in a game where they were in celebration mode and also knew that if we won the game it would stuff sevco's chance of sneaking through to finish second. If we are going to get beaten by the Dhims, I'd far rather we went down having a go. Yes sitting back and encouraging them on works against sevco. Because despite their outlay dwarfing ours, the players they have are of a similar standard to us....they just have loads more of them especially defenders and midfielders. It just doesn't work against Celtic because their players are of a higher standard. Let's try something different against them
