  1. All the illegal immigrants near Calais will head west to Cherbourg and try to stow away on the ferries to Rosslare and Dublin, the infrastructure to prevent such occurrances isn't there and without a hard Irish border they will head straight for Belfast and onwards to the mainland. May wants some sort of border in the Irish Sea but that is unacceptable to the Unionists in NI and if this agreement involves this then the Unionists will stop propping up the Tories and bring down the government in doing so. The only Brexit that can work is hard Brexit. Anything other than this is staying in the EU in all but name. Of course if the government does get brought down then the question arises....will the nation actually have the balls to elect a Corbyn led Labour administration? It would unquestionably stand on a "rejoin the EU" ticket and if elected I doubt they'd even call a fresh referendum to ask the question.....they'd just say they were elected on a majority and as such had the mandate to do so.
  2. Think McLennan's shoulder injury will be keeping him out for a wee bit beyond the international break. On the upside Scott Wright should be ready to return and McGinn will be back. Wilson? Probably available but will pull a hammy in the warm up.....
  3. Time passes ever faster the older older you get. It is 30 years to the day since Durrant tripped over Simmie's foot. Seems like only yesterday..... But yes you are correct. The club, and Milne, are to be applauded for trying to do something and we must all stand firmly behind them.
  4. We all know Wiggy really isn't much of a football man. His brain purely focusses on business and when he came out with the needing a strong sevco shyte and need to move on I really don't think he understood just how much the average Dons fan despises oldco/newco. Every Dons fans site I've seen has threads concerning the blatant arse cheek bias that the GPFL and GFA have been displaying. It was always thus but this season they've went into overdrive and seem to have abandoned all efforts at doing their deeds covertly and now are just openly and brazenly treating the cheeks with kid gloves whilst hammering everyone else. Us more than anyone else it would appear. Now the board we have underneath Wiggy is probably the most savvy ever in knowing how the average fan feels. They will know of the talk of fans taking action....boycotts featuring heavily. The last thing they want is us staying away in numbers. Even a crowd of 10k at a game where 14k is the norm would result in a £100k hit. So the board have tried to engage and are trying to do something about the present state of affairs. I am pleased that they are doing so. But Milne is definitely reaping what he sowed back in 2012.
  5. They're checking to see if Cosgrove has a Scottish granny as we speak
  6. Both them and Hivs are in false positions that a sycophantic media have either chosen to ignore or more likely have been too stupid to figure out. In the first "round" of games we are into the final 4 for todays games and 3 for those who played yesterday. Hearts obv have sevco today, have us up next and still have to face Hivs. Hivs in their final 3 games of the set have to face Celtic, hearts and sevco. So not so much a bubble bursting, just having to face better teams than they generally have up till now
  7. He was in the squad i saw a couple of days back
  8. We keep hearing English pundits saying that the arse cheeks aside, the SPFL is of English League 1 standard. Arrogant cunts have no idea ( not one EFL1 team would have drawn twice in a row with a Premier League side in normal time). However clubs like ourselves ( but more especially Dundee, St Johnstone, Motherwell etc) sign journeymen pros from that league who all come up here expecting to be top dogs and find that the quality is a helluva lot better than they ever conceived. Said clubs after a few games realise these guys can't hack it and bring back boys from the reserves they were signed to replace, or start playing youngsters. I wrote Gleeson and Forrester off weeks ago. We should absolutely stick with the young eens, who just seem hungrier. And better. Gleeson I can envisage might have a role to play in certain games but until he can go a full 90 minutes he cannot expect to play regularly. Which i think will affect his attitude. Forrester.....rumours that he is finding it difficult to settle in Aberdeen persist. If we can recoup half what we paid for him in the January window then letting him leave would be best for all parties I think. Though on his form since he joined, who the hell would pay a single penny?
  9. Montserrat Caballe ( the soprano hippopotamus that did the duet with Freddie Mercury) All soprano singers should come with a free packet of painkillers for every listener. Shrieking away like that really does hurt your ears.
  10. 4-1 defensive fuck up
  11. Killie players fighting among themselves who gets to take the penalty they get awarded. Tshibola (sp) flings an elbow then boots the ball away in the huff. Greg Stewart finally takes it.....and misses
  12. Caravan dwellers go 2-0 down
  13. Cosgrove does prolific 4-0
  14. Lewis you fucking tit! Edit.....redeemed himself with the follow up save but totally unnecessary risk in the first place
  15. Was surely a penalty when Shinnie got pulled back
  16. Lowe gets a third!!!!
  17. And Mclennan!!!! Both goals absolute peaches
  18. Cosgrove!!!!!!!
  19. Not sure how Ive managed to miss this thread in all the time Ive been here but your name brought back memories of my youth.....I went to primary and high school with the younger daughter of Dons legendary keeper Ernie McGarr. She was even barmier than he was and every bit as hefty (tbf I was way too young to remember him at Aberdeen but he was a big old unit in the mid 70s when he played for East Fife). Never forget in P7 the time when she stood on one of the girls toilets (no idea why) which promptly smashed into 5 or 6 razor sharp chunks underneath her gashing her leg which needed a number of stitches, 3 of the belt on her return the next day and a hefty bill for a replacement shitter sent to poor auld Ernie
  20. We knew he was a crock when we signed him. God knows how much we are spunking each week on him but it has to be said it looks like cash down the toilet. We should have given Marquis whatever he was asking for......certain we would have made serious cash on him 18-24 months down the line. The team we have put out should have enough about them to get us over the line, just hope GMS doesnt get an early injury as I don't want Forrester coming on until we have the points wrapped up.
  21. Boycotting them makes no difference whatsoever. In fact the Huns would probably encourage us to do so. 900 tickets for a shitey wee corner of their hovel.......they could probably save a bit on stewarding costs if they knew none of us were turning up. To be effective sadly it has to be the ones that rely on our away support's cash and that means the Hamilton's etc. Of course you are correct that Wiggy and our boards of the previous 20 odd years have been complicit in encouraging the GFA and SPL/SPFL to act in the way they do. Saying that "we need a strong Rangers" should have been the catalyst for everyone to demand Milne got the heave ho as chairman but years of being utterly shite left everyone utterly apathetic. Sadly our present board seem to feel that finishing anywhere between 2nd and 6th and winning the odd cup every 5-10 years is an acceptable performance. And with the comparative financial limitations against that of the cheeks it probably is. I was lucky enough to be a teenager throughout the Fergie era and grew accustomed to us winning trophies every season. Oldco then got investment.....initially above board but in later years we know about the financial doping etc....and brought our golden era to a sharp end. 33 years have passed since we were the last team outwith the arse cheeks to lift the league title. In the 100 years of history previous to that their dominance was never close to being that length of time without at least 1 other club winning it. Sadly if we don't get change, my future grandchildren will themselves have grandchildren and not see a winner of the league outwith Celtic or newco.
  22. The time probably has come for boycotts. Whether fans of other teams would get on board with us is the question. but there is no doubt even if we were alone in taking action we could seriously impact on other clubs' finances. Weekend games we generally take between 1500-2000 fans to most of the grounds. Even midweek we usually take 1000+. For clubs who generally only get gates of between 3k and 5k (eg St Johnstone or Hamilton) this is a huge boost to their finances and one which they absolutely rely on. Removing this cash would have their boards almost immediately telling the SPFL/SFA to get their shit in order as nothing concentrates their minds more than the bottom line on their balance sheets. Hearts are the obvious ones who we should be trying to get on board with us and ideally Hibs also as they both carry decent away supports too. Our ultimate aim has to be to get both bodies to start acting in the interests of all clubs instead of the 2 arse cheeks and also to get that fud Dungcaster out asap. A decent start would be to get them to scrap this ridiculous Compliance Officer position, which in doing so would save on a hefty wage. Let referees referee. If they fuck up too regularly then there are ways which can get them "demoted" to lower league games for a while (which impacts on the match fee they receive so it is in their own interests not to fuck up).
  23. It's the historic club that should really get folk. 6 fucking years old they are
  24. Don't think we will get it as easy as we did in the League Cup. Their signing of Anton Ferdinand could be inspired although equally could be a disaster....time will tell. Good news that Ferguson is back for this one. If DM is true to his word about playing 2 up top the Ball should be the one to drop out although McGinn would deserve it a lot more. I agree Cosgrove has his uses and definitely links play effectively, but until he scores the monkey on his back just gets heavier and heavier with each passing week. McKenna has his appeal tomorrow. So when that's done his 2 match suspension will be confirmed leaving us with Consi back in alongside Devlin. On the upside we then by default put a proper left back in position who can hopefully in tandem with GMS get some crosses in that Cosgrove will get on the end of. 2-1......GMS (pen) and Wilson
  25. Hearts v Celtic might just manage to fill 67k seats. No chance if its us v sevco
