  1. The only bit I disagree with Strachan on is the "good for Scottish football generally" bit. All it is good for is sevco themselves.
  2. I disagree. Celtic have tens of millions in the bank and they could go out and pay £10million tomorrow for a player if they so desired. The problem that Rodgers has is that their board try to play hardball with selling clubs in order to get Player X as cheaply as possible. This strategy has paid dividends in the past as clubs in Scotland especially have rolled over to Celtic in the transfer market and had their collective bellies tickled. Hibs have done Scottish clubs a huge service by finally having the guts to stand up to Celtic and refusing to sell a player at less than what they believe him to be worth. If Celtic really do want McKenna they'll have to pay what we ask. They CAN afford it
  3. McKenna's true value probably is £3 million. However we have him on a 5 year contract and he is now a Scotland regular who has captained his country. So we can ask £5 million no problem and if Celtic (or any other team) refuse to pay that we can tell them to get fucked. Of course the one big unknown is what the speculation will do or already is doing to McKenna's head. Hopefully he won't try to force a move through at least at this point.
  4. Weegie press have just seen the videocelts story.....
  5. If we are happy with it then it surely follows Hamilton cannot be. Await next statement from their arse of a chairman
  6. Unbelieveable. And Duffy is considered to be one of the saner, more thoughtful pundits.
  7. Livi were happy for him to continue as manager alone but he had to stop playing. Hes a bawhair off 39...no doubt he is fit for someone that age but I don't think any SPFL teams would have been quaking in their boots at the thought of facing him. He might manage a season or 2 still playing for a League 1 team.
  8. Absolutely agree that Considine is nowhere near as bad as some on here would have you believe. Yes he has his limitations and at left back will probably be the root cause of us losing 4 or 5 goals per season. However he also chips in with 4 or 5 goals per season at the other end so in effect is cost neutral. For some reason DM has decided Shinnie is better for us in midfield than he is at left back. Surely to god he must see the need for us then to go out and get a proper left back who can take us on from Considine being cost neutral to having one who can help out GMS in attack and perhaps gain us a few goals per season from that area. I would love to see us try 3 at the back with 2 wing backs....again have no problem with Consi being one of the 3 centre backs though I suspect DM would probably use Hoban once fit in this type of set up.
  9. Because they think he's shyte.....
  10. My guess is he has been spending too much time on his appeal to the SFA regarding the club fine sevco imposed on him and Wallace at the back end of last season and has been neglecting his day to day duties. Fuck him anyway
  11. BBC running with it too. Board unhappy with performance on and off the field
  12. To be fair I only heard it when I was living down in deepest darkest Lanarkshire. Could just be a West Coast thing cos I've never heard it used now that I'm back East
  13. I think the name "videocelts" gives the game away..... Even if it were true £2.5 million plus Christie would be highway robbery. McKenna is on a 5 year deal now. Whilst I think the £10 million valuation is pie in the sky, we shouldn't take less than £5 million from anyone, far less a league rival. Throwing Christie at that level might just sweeten the deal but as I say.....it's just speculative stuff from a Celtic fan blogger.
  14. Should have our 1st choice defence in place by then. With maybe even a wee bonus ball left back or number 10 signed to bolster us ana. They always score plenty but ship plenty goals to counterbalance that. Should be entertaining if nothing else
  15. Draw coming up shortly......I predict Sevco v Hibs/Ross Co Ayr v Aberdeen Celtic v St Johnstone Hearts v Motherwell
  16. Sevco should be 1 up ball over the line but linesman /ref didn't award it poss unsighted. Await Gerrard's post match "unfair" comments should they go on to lose..... What a shame
  17. Just cos they are notorious....especially at home.......for turning on their own team and booing them. Can't believe you haven't heard that anywhere else. Even their own fans admit it.....see about halfway down page 1 of this thread.... Edit....post by "Doakes" if you are too lazy to read down http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrIRltlSXlbKBUApk13Bwx.;_ylu=X3oDMTByMnE1MzMwBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMzBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--/RV=2/RE=1534704101/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fwww.blackandwhitearmy.com%2fforums%2findex.php%3f%2ftopic%2f44513-have-st-mirren-ever-had-this-much-publicity%2f/RK=2/RS=idk.gLBYUoR09Wz1lITZ9nt6t.E-
  18. Don't think he will.....Hivs at Easter Road is a different animal to St Boo at home. Don't have a big problem with that but do think we should set up as we did yesterday as much as possible at home. Wright and GMS were both virtually unplayable for the St Boo defenders. Could, and possibly should, have been 6 or 7. Great to see the young eens getting game time too.
  19. Surely Mcginn will partner May up top, Wright and GMS on the wings?
  20. Saw a bit on TV the other night asking why the NHS isn't promoting vaping as a "safer" alternative to smoking. They just cannot do as vaping has only been around just over 10 years and there is very little in the way of research as yet as to the long term effects of inhaling nicotine infused vapour......there are chemicals creating the "flavour" and these could prove harmful if used long term. There is no doubt not inhaling tar etc will be good for you however we live in such a litigious age that if a vaper....especially one who has done so exclusively and has never smoked cigarettes....develops lung cancer the NHS would find itself on the receiving end of a whacking great claim for damages if it were to promote vaping.. Just say No folks....
  21. I dont expect him to sign one yet. The Bristol City interest will have made him think twice and he will know that going down south to a club of that nature he would easily get a contract on £8k/week plus. If his agent can get 2 or 3 clubs definitely interested then I think he might sign a new contract in January with a clause guaranteeing we sell him if we get a bid of say £500k or over from next summer onwards
  22. Except that the c@nts aren't out of Europe at all...
  23. As I said.....i concede he always tried. Doesn't alter my opinion that he was inconsistent. Don't think it's particularly harsh either. I'm certain many of our support would welcome him back in an instant. I just feel that his time with us is in the past and if he were to become available I'd rather not waste what would be a hefty wage on someone his age.
  24. He will annoy most SPFL clubs over the season with his post match quotes/moaning The national press give not a fuck.....his quotes are a goldmine for them. Sevco and the Dhims are all they care about as 90% plus of their readership will follow one or the other.
  25. I'd take Christie if it were financially viable though as I stated elsewhere I really don't think it will be and anyway I'd prefer Scott Allan. Hayes nope not for me. Wrong side of 30, had a bad injury and despite the adulation on here, he was every bit as inconsistent as GMS is now....you would get one fantastic game, one good game, 2 average performances and 2 stinkers every 6 games in no particular order. Edit.....Although I do concede that even when having a stinker, he would always put maximum effort in
