  1. Not sure he will play on Tuesday though certainly should as he was by far the best of all the dubutants. Even if he does he is going to find things difficult when Tierney returns to the squad, with Robertson now the nailed on 1st choice at left back Tierney will need shoehorned into the team somehow and left centre back in the position McKenna was in the other night seems the most logical. His best hope is that once this happens, McLeish sticks with the 3 at the back and he can somehow persuade the manager he is a better option than Mulgrew, however I suspect he will have to wait a couple of years before he nails down a regular spot.
  2. Took a look its a bit sad really ( but funny as fuck too) However I have to take issue with you and other Dons supporters saying you don't give a fuck about the Scotland score or indeed actually enjoying seeing us get beaten. The only c@nts who actively want Scotland getting beaten are those Huns who sing Rule fucking Britannia and support England. Nauseating uneducated neanderthals and yet we now have a few of our own almost imitating them. As far as I know the guys who you are calling English because of their place of birth all at least have one parent who was born in Scotland. At least McLeish hasn't went down the Vogts/GWT line of giving caps to guys who only had a Scottish granny or because they once bought a bottle of irn bru when the dandelion and burdock was sold out.
  3. As has been mentioned before technically Simmie is English too....
  4. He is probably on somewhere north of 7k per week at Preston anyway so doubtful we could get close to even just matching his terms. Presumably sevco will try to get Cummings in permanently in the summer so unless they sell El Buffoonalo, Moult would still find himself at best 3rd choice striker at Ibrokes too.
  5. Still don't think he will be anything other than a bit part player for the Dhims. More likely with just over a year on his contract left theyre hoping that an English Championship club will come in with a bid in the summer and if he has 2-3 years left on contract they should get at least a million maybe even 1.5m. And for a few months Christie gets an extra 2-3 thousand a week. Will take us right out of the running to sign him if he does this sadly.
  6. Was debated last night on clyde1 phone in. Feeling is Mulgrew captain just for these 2 games and McLeish will appoint a permanent captain in August prior to the qualification campaign. Guess it makes sense with all the new members in squad.
  7. And it would also do if we won it. But if Motherwell won it ( unlikely but stranger things have happened) then only 2nd and 3rd would qualify.
  8. No we shouldn't. Not whilst we are in a dogfight with sevco and Hivs for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in the league....only 2nd and 3rd are guaranteed places in the Europa Cup. Ideally it would be good to blood a couple of youngsters in the last few games....Dean Campbell probably deserves it on his performances for the U20s but until we have 3rd place guaranteed at a minimum just cant see it happening. However he certainly should be on the bench instead of Maynard from now on.
  9. There is an even better story on his rival Johnjamessite.........
  10. Jaap Stam binned by Reading. Probably the type of job McInnes should be linked with but in view of their precarious league position they'll probably go for someone like Harry Redknapp with a proven record in England
  11. I'd put Lennon above him too purely on his ability to get Hibs to compete well in games against the cheeks but of course there is no doubting in Scottish terms that DM rates as well above average. There is also no shame in any manager who wishes to improve himself but let there be no doubt......had McInnes not been told that he would have to fund Doc's wages out of his own if he wanted Doc as his assistant at sevco then there is no doubt he would have fecked off to Ibrokes in December. We have had 5 great years out of DM, far more than the average manager lasts at any club these days. Unfortunately we have seen the best of him as our manager and the only way for us now under him is downwards. He might well get us 2nd place, yet though equally he might get us 4th and we might even win the Cup too but the squad will be decimated in the close season. I think it is time that another incumbent gets the chance to rebuild. Some will say "better the devil you know" and of course a new manager is always a gamble but it is time we took that chance.
  12. I agree with RS. He is waiting for WBA to come calling....doubtful this will happen unless they go down and even then i doubt he would even be in their top 3 choices. He would also go to virtually any championship club that is half decently run. Only reason he turned down Sunderland and sevco is that a blind man could tell they are both financial basket cases at present. Once both get new owners in ( in sevco's case quite possibly after another liquidation/reformation "same club" act) he would walk barefoot over broken glass to get his arse parked in the manager's chair.
  13. More chance of John Lennon getting the sevco gig
  14. I'm 100% certain I don't give 2 flying f@cks what you 2 think
  15. The club aint gonna spend any more on the pitch than they absolutely have to, given that in just over 2 years time we will be in a brand new stadium. Sure I read somewhere that the reason the pitch is always poor by mid season is the closeness to the sea, the soil is just too salty and wet to withstand the rigours of 22 players running jumping and sliding all over it every second week. With the new ground being a lot further inland these problems should be alleviated.
  16. Cos McInnes is far too risk averse against the cheeks. Motherwell had 10 men for 50 minutes today yet more than held their own and had chances to win the game far less just holding on.
  17. And indeed, the powers that be
  18. Nah the Dhims will cash in during the summer. We will make an offer but he will probably end up at a Barnsley or similar on double the wages we can offer
  19. Will also remember that night till the day I die. Was 16 and studying for Highers less than a month away so listened on tranny in bedroom whilst trying to revise the nuances of electrical capacitance and impedance. Got a C for Physics so didnt really help that much. Was convinced we were out at 2-1 down, 20 minutes later i just knew our name was on the cup even with Real and Juve also in the semi's. That team has never received the plaudits that the Lisbon Lions got or even the oldco Barcelona winners. Nothing will convince me otherwise that it was the best by far of those three teams.
  20. pretty pointless imho as they are in constant touch with the dugout via walkie talkie and could be argued they get an even better view of the game from the stand. For bans to work it has to be a total ban from the stadium for the full 24 hours of a matchday
  21. Not strictly true at least for half the ground. I know a fair number of protestants who support Celtic. I don't know any Catholics who support sevco.
  22. If he is shagging at 7am in the morning he must also have a helluva dealer supplying super strength Viagra....
  23. Cunt should have been hunted out of Scotland when he tried to shoehorn sevco into the old SFL1 (backed by Wiggy and a few other chairmen that only backed down when faced with the collective fury of their supporters).
  24. I have to say i don't think it was a foul either. Logan should either have headed the ball without letting it bounce or stood his ground. Instead he lets it bounce then tries to head it, but gets nowhere near due to the weird bounce you get on plastic pitches, he ends up flying over Brophy himself and by the time hes on his feet and regained balance Brophy is heading off into the distance. Logan has become a liability and DM needs to start planning for the semi right now by dropping him.
  25. His number 1, 2 and 4 men are out. If Lewis is still injured then make that 1, 2, 3 and 4. Having his number 4 man out (Logan) will only improve us. He has been honking all season and as has been previously said, it's time to take him out the team immediately and give either (ideally) an U20 player or whoever DM will use at RB in the semi (Ball or AOC?) a bit of a run.
