Any thoughts on Woodman and McLean DD?
-
Got 13/10 with ladbrokes paired it up with Cardiff at Brentford at 21/10 for a 6.31/1 double
-
Again no I havent said he is a better manager. I have said that he has shown he can recruit successfully and has turned a distinctly average sevco side into what is now the second best side in the country. No more than he should do you might say given his budget compared to us Hibs and Hearts. But Pedro couldn't do it nor could Warburton. Murty has sevco exactly where sevco should be no more no less.
-
At no point did I suggest we could or should have even attempted to sign any of those 3 I did say McInnes needed to have a good January window. He didn't. Devlin may prove to be a decent acquisition in time but as things stand he is in rehab from what often proves to be a career ending/limiting injury. Woodman was forced on him due to our number 1 getting a long term injury. Nwakali.....nope sorry just isn't good enough. Cosgrove.......holy phuq where do I begin. Yes sevco are operating on a different financial footing from us and it does look like they are following the same road as their dead predecessors but Murty has indisputably brought in quality at a (relatively) cheap price and at season's end will probably get at least 2 of the 3 you mentioned on permanent contracts. Looking at DM's recruitment over the length of his tenure only about 1 in 3 have been a success. I no longer have confidence in his recruitment, coaching and tactics. And I think a majority of fans agree with me....
-
Let there be no doubt McInnes would be sitting in the manager's chair at Ipox right now if sevco had matched the terms he is on with us right now. The fact they couldn't/wouldn't shows that money is tight on the southwest side of Glasgow. Backed up by Murty's recruitment in January being mainly loan deals. Any goodwill DM had for his previous achievements with us was lost by speaking to sevco. When he returned he had to have a good January recruitment and ensure we held on to second place. And also show improved performances against the cheeks. However we have lost second place, probably permanently, have lost to Celtic, Hibs and sevco, and are now struggling to even finish 3rd in the league. We have gone stale under DM. His early tenure so no sevco, Hibs or Hearts for varying lengths of time in the league yet even then his record was hardly startling. A League Cup and a few second places where the other than Celtic our budget was far in excess of the competition. It's time for a change (in the close season) before we sink to mid table mediocrity.

Guys sevco signed in summer were thon Portugeezer's signings. I realise many of Murty's January signings are loans but it cannot be disputed he has definitely improved sevco to the point where it is doubtful in the extreme that we will overhaul them for second place after having a comfortable lead over them early in season. Indeed McInnes' ineptitude now has us struggling to hold on to 3rd place. I'm grateful for where we are now compared to prior to DM's appointment but ultimately sentiment cannot come into this. I (and I now think a majority of fans) believe we have seen peak McInnes and that we will be lucky to maintain present levels if he were to remain in charge beyond the summer. He is just clueless and far too risk averse against the cheeks and we are even seeing it against the Edinburgh teams too now. Murty certainly isn't my first choice to replace DM but if he were available then he has proven he can recruit well within a tight budget and set teams up to at least try to have a right old go at Celtic. I can understand others wanting to give DM a chance to turn things round but I care not a jot if others disagree, the evidence is plain to see we are getting worse whilst all our rivals are improving.
-
Leaves a sour taste in the mouth but Murty is showing what can be achieved if you at least try to have a go at Celtic. I think the Dhims will come through in the end and I also think Murty will be replaced in the close season as sevco won't want to be perceived as taking the cheap option of giving him it permanently. And if they do I wouldnt complain if we replaced DM with him...

Sevco 1 up after 3 minutes

Yep thought Ball was effective enough in the role he was asked to do, he's better on the ball than AOC and more disciplined than Nwakali. When he went off Partick midfield took control. Horrendous miss by Shinnie no more than 8 yards out either a bit of height or a bit more power and he scores but he made it too easy for Thistle keeper to save. Hibs on fire, we are honkin right now looks like 4th place unless everyone rapidly bucks up their ideas
-
Dundee really are seriously underperforming. Dragged into the relegation dogfight now for sure and other teams around them picked up points luckily for them Rossco didnt manage to complete the unlikeliest of comebacks. I think McCann will walk before he is pushed though.
-
Hibs were superb, McGeouch was m.o.m. by a donkeys mile, the rumours of him signing a pre-contract with us seem to have stopped although he hasn't signed a new contract with the spoonburners either. We need 3 points tomorrow or else find ourselves in a 3 way dogfight for 2nd,3rd and 4th places in league

Feeling more confident than i was start of the week 1-3 ( GMS, May, Consi)

He speaks some shit for the benefit of his wallet and nothing else

Just cannot agree with the residency rule. Driver being a good example, represented Scotland at schoolboy level then playing for England at U21 level. Once he realised he wasn't going to be good enough to play senior for England he declared himself Scottish again and IIRC the SFA actually changed their residency rules to allow him to play senior for us although he never actually did so as it turned out he just wasn't very good.....and Aberdeen found this out ourselves a few years later. (WTAF was Deek thinking even giving him a short term contract?) Now the young 14 y/o loon Dembele is playing the same game with Scotland and England. I actually hope he turns out to be as pants as Driver did. Loads of countries are giving African born players caps......Germany, France and Italy to name a few but it is a step too far as far as I'm concerned.

According to the timing of your post you were 22 minutes early boarding it....
-
But did you get up between her Rum and her Ribena?
-
Easter Road would be perfect for it (assuming we get there)
-
I have got no problem with anyone who has a parent that is Scottish being selected to represent us. After all it is not the kid's fault where he was born. Where I do object though is going further back and using grandparents place of birth as a qualifying reason for selection. That is just taking things too far. Also not in favour of us picking anyone who has represented another country at youth/U21 levels. Swapping allegiances ( as that young Dhims player Karamoko Dembele is doing right now) is just ripping the pish.
-
If DM had used the word "cheating" in his statement regarding Jones then Clarke may have a point, however it was only said that he went down without any contact....this is just a matter of opinion as opposed to a direct accusation so there would be no reason for the SFA to act.
-
Sevco have a massive goal difference advantage over us effectively like an extra point lead. Apart from the prize money difference for finishing second there really isn't much difference in finishing third......both teams enter the Europa League at the same point. Whilst of course I'd like to overhaul sevco and finish second we still have to visit 'Well and Fartz before the split and I'm just not confident of taking anything better than a point at both those grounds unless we suddenly rediscover our form. Sevco will get pumped at the weekend for sure but anything less than 3 points for us and I'm definitely writing off 2nd. With the Scottish Cup draw turning out the way it did we should be focussing all our efforts on that anyway.
-
Any credit DM had was used up when he first decided that using Rooney as a left f@cking winger would be a good idea......then consistently repeating that act of folly despite all the evidence that it was a shite idea from the first time he tried it. We have a perfectly serviceable left winger in GMS. Inconsistent for sure but better than being consistently keech as Rooney is. Even Stewart would be a better option out there ffs. Anyway I suspect 2nd place has all but disappeared down the gurgler. Although 3rd isn't yet assured I think the Thistle game would be a good chance to try someone else at right back given Logan's horrendous demise as anything like a safe pair of hands in the role. Ideally one of the young loons but Ball or (gulps) AOC would have to be no worse than the incumbent. I was actually willing the ref to send Logan off at the weekend when he gave away the penalty so the decision would have been out of DM's hands.

So Motherwell awaits the winner of the replay. Big incentive for everyone as it is a real chance to get to a Cup Final but our form over the last month has been poor at best. Hopefully this draw will be the incentive for the team to get back on the rails.

Looking more and more as if DM has given Calderwood's tombola a thorough oiling and will be using it from now on to determine line ups. Can't say I'm looking forward to the replay with any great confidence. Wingers now know that Logan is every bit as shaky as Considine when they cut inside and it appears no matter who we pair up with McKenna in central defence they will be a bombscare. Really hope WBA bin Pardew today in light of their defeat yesterday and somehow come to the conclusion that DM will be the answer to their problems.
