  1. shite 1-1
  2. As I mentioned before, I too would be happy with an 18000 capacity redeveloped Pittodrie but I'm sure Tom did indeed show this was not possible. I actually dont buy into the 12000 capacity being all that can be achieved....i think they could get it up to 15000 if they really wanted but the problem being it would be economically unviable by needing to reroute Pittodrie Street and would also look horrendous with mismatched stands on every side Making the new stadium only 17-18k would certainly guarantee a great atmosphere at most games but given our progression under McInnes we could be losing out on say 2000 fans in 4 Dhims/sevco games at roughly £25 a head equally £200k of lost revenue per year. If we could also start getting to the Europa League qualifying round on a regular basis we would surely sell that out too...using the same pricing formula there is another £80k missed out on....not to mention what we would miss out on if we actually qualified. At 20k capacity we would also get allocated World Cup / European Championship qualifiers / friendlies (and possibly rugby internationals too) that would instead go to Easter Road/Tynecastle/Rugby Park if we went for the lower option. So all in all I think the 20k capacity is the correct choice...
  3. East Stand Elsie was a f@ckin hoot. He should be welcomed with open arms should he ever decide to put in an appearance ( and superglued to the board to he cant leave). FWIW i really dont mind anyone from any club other than the 2 arse cheeks putting their neb in. It stimulates debate and a bit of banter. The Fartz loon that joins in seems an ok type.
  4. They forgot to factor in the extra large toilets theyd have to install for when 100% Anti Kingsford was attending on account of how much pish comes out of him...
  5. I agree that Wright needs more game time than he is getting. But with our excess of attacking options he is going to find it really difficult as things stand. GMS is his obvious rival for a starting slot and as previously mentioned, having forked out a fee for him is obviously going to be given every chance to prove his worth. I actually think he will do so over the length of his contract... Maynard was obviously signed on the back of Preston appointing Alex Neil and saying he wanted to see May in action thus making Deek think the deal was off. Fast forward 3 weeks and we get the plaar we really wanted so Maynard really becomes surplus to requirements and as he is only on a1 year deal I expect him to be offered the chance to go back south in January with his contract paid up. Rooney I actually believe is finished now. I know Deek has said no more deals before the end of the window but it would not surprise me to see us fire in a bid for Moult on deadline day with Rooney being shipped out to whomever will take him....this might be difficult as he offers so little other than being able to finish off chances provided by others doing the donkey's work. If Hibs hadn't signed Stokes I'd have said they would be a good fit for him but now its difficult to see where he could go. Would Motherwell consider him in part exchange for Moult?? Anyway getting back to Wright...I think for now he will have to content himself as a bench option, though I think he should be used at every opportunity getting at least 25 minutes every game replacing either GMS/GS/Christie, and getting a full game once a month against the lesser teams in the league.
  6. I honestly couldnt believe anyone would run to the rozzers over that post on the Hat. Offensive...yeh sure but a police matter? Jesus Christ you would think that they would have better things to investigate but apparently not. If it goes to court I hope to hell the beak gives the reporter and the rozzers an almighty bollocking for wasting his time and taxpayers' money...
  7. I'm actually with Rocket on this one. Did well when he came on yesterday for sure but I was totally meh when he joined up and still am tbh, although I will be absolutely delighted to be proved wrong over the course of the season. As I've said before, he has had one good season at Dundee but bombed at Birmingham who are hardly world beaters. I have a feeling that as the season progresses Deek will end up picking either Stewart or Christie....just dont feel they will work well together and overall I think Christie will be more consistent and get the nod....
  8. Bobby Vee - The Night Has A Thousand Eyes
  9. The correct side won. That said Dundee did have 3 huge chances that they didn't take, 2 of which directly stemmed from our rank bad play. In addition the goal they scored was another "shoot ourselves in the foot job" also caused by our own really slack play. Has to be said that Reynolds has become a total liability. Needs replaced now, though I'd actually prefer Consi getting his place and us signing a left back or promoting young Harvie up. Christie had one of those days where absolutely nothing came off, Shinnie was also rank rotten ( bound to happen now and again despite his consistency) and Joe was worryingly shaky against the cross ball and didn't cover himself in glory with his attempt at stopping their goal. Positives were obviously May getting his goals on his home debut, Tansey had a great game ( why was he taken off unless he had a wee niggle) and overall this was a game that in past seasons we would either have drawn or lost. Next up Partick. Was always a difficult place to go in our glory years, I'd be perfectly happy with the same result as yesterday but lets hope we put in a much improved performance
  10. Before my time too, first one I remember playing was also Bobby Clark, but I was at school in the same class from P4 upwards as Ernie McGarr's younger daughter... What a dame she was. A one girl wrecking machine. Her old man could sink a pint or two ana..
  11. On my one and only visit to the fine city of Budapest i ended up staying in a hotel in the Buda side of the river. about half a mile up the hill from Szell Kalman Ter underground station. About 6 months later I found out the majority of the Hungarian porn industry output is shot within it. I thought those bedsheets were helluva crispy. Anyway i do remember as we came in from the airport in a taxi passing right by Ferencvaros stadium and there was a game on. Looked great in the sunshine. Seemed pretty full too. Anyway enjoy the game loon
  12. He's a guy I would like to see considered if and when Deek eventually ups sticks. Would be an excellent appointment for Fartz would certainly steady the ship if he was allowed to do his own thing backed with a bit of cash. Question is do they have that cash right now with the ongoing stand funding issue. If they don't then taking it could prove toxic to his career at least in the short term.
  13. So assuming the cooncil ram one up the W.A.N.K.S collective hoops.....training centre open by season start 2019/20 and stadium open a year later?
  14. Hayes "unwell" hence not on bench. Roberts supposedly a done deal though. Hayes will still play a part for the Dhims this season against your Hamilton's and Dundee's but come next summer he will be surplus to requirements. Celtic final score 5-0. Thats another minimum 25 million heading into the old biscuit tin. Game really is a f@ckin bogey..
  15. Diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers Disease. Been struggling with it for 2 years. May well go a long way to explaining a few of his signings and the tombola but by f@ck I wouldna wish that on my worst enemy. Keep fighting it JC.
  16. Actually come to think of it even the Thumb and that wee kangaroo botherer McDonald bullied him..
  17. And the funding for razing the ground to the floor, realigning Pittodrie Street with all the services underneath (gas electric sewage broadband etc) for around 300 metres or so and also Golf Road if you want to shift the whole thing towards the sea, buying up the flats and any other properties that may impinge on the project and rebuilding the ground to an acceptable size (17.5 k minimum?) is going to come from where? Oh and not forgetting there's also a training centre which will still be need to be built somewhere else in or around the city, losing the obvious benefits of having the stadium adjacent ( separate services whereas they can be integrated on one site etc) We know that we will get 15-20 million by selling Pittodrie (and leaving the demolition costs to any prospective buyer). So we are looking to fund 30 million or so to achieve Kingsford. There's no head start in paying for a redeveloped Pittodrie. It would be the full 50 million plus the costs on top I've mentioned above. Plus whatever it costs to build the training ground on a separate site. I support the club and whilst Pittodrie will always have a special place in my heart, ultimately, within reason, I dont give a flying fuck where we play. I would even have accepted Portlethen despite it being outwith the city as there are very obvious transport advantages to being there. We need to accept that change is necessary. Too much time has been wasted already..
  18. Cannot agree at all about Reynolds' biggest attributes being his pace and strength... Whilst he probably is still one of the quicker central defenders around, he certainly could never be described as lightning fast and as he gets older I think its pretty obvious he has slowed down a bit since he first joined. This relative pace compared to other central defenders probably stemmed from one thing....and now let's address the strength ( or lack of it) issue. Fact is Reynolds is 6ft1 which in modern central defender terms is tiny. He is also fairly skinny for someone playing in that position and whilst this is the probable reason that he is quick compared to other centre halves, it also means he is easily bullied by big physical attackers and ims a positive liability at defending set pieces where the oppo centre halves run riot against him. Add in the fact he is completely one footed and distribution wise he is about as accurate as a second world war German doodlebug. I also agree that having his face rearranged was the start of his decline, I'm afraid for 2 years now he has been utterly ineffective and whilst he probably is good enough for a Kilmarnock or Thistle (and I suspect his future in the game will be as a left back not a central defender) he really is no longer of the quality we need to push on and try to win a trophy or 2. He has been a good servant and if any club wanted him right now he should be allowed to leave on a free. I'd then give Consi an extended shot at centre half and whilst I have my concerns about young Harvie being over hyped, he does need tested out and should be thrown in against the weaker sides to see if he thrives, and replacing him with Shinnie against the Dhims, Hibs sevco and St Johnstone for now, but with a view to trying him against these clubs in 6 months or so too.
  19. And if one of the clowns fell....who do you think his family would attempt to sue?
  20. Hun cunts have appealed. Looks like no actual contact occurred but intent is enough to warrant a straight red. Orc hordes are complaining that Stokes wasnt also red carded for his part in the incident. Probably a fair enough point. Even funnier though is that if you watch the incident earlier where Stokes gets yellow carded it really should have been a straight red at that point for him so Stokes shouldn't even have been on the pitch to get involved with Jack anyway. Fuck Ryhun and fuck sevco.
  21. Says SE12 Donsdaft will sort you out at a discount...
  22. Bit of chat over on the hat that Josh Meekings is having a medical tomorrow.....probably a load of pish but as a free agent able to cover central defence and right back, probably fairly cheaply, wouldn't be a bad addition to an already very strong squad.
  23. the mods will probably fire you on a ban. Its quite amusing to see how often you can cop a ban on there in 24 hours. My record stands at 8
  24. Its the Foderingham thread that I'm pissing myself at. Yesterday they wanted him capped by England and sold for around 3 million with one rocket demanding no less than 5.5 million. Today they are auctioning him off with bids starting at 25p
