  1. Berwick Rangers dinna play in Berwick (even if Berwick was returned to Scotland tomorrow Berwick Rangers would still be an English team). Partick Thistle dinna play in Partick. Chester City have one set of goals in England and the other in Wales.... Get the fucker built
  2. The Clash....always referred to by those of a certain age as cooler and true to the roots of punk than their contemporaries like the Damned or the Sex Pistols. I just found them soporific. And U2. Up to and including The Unforgettable Fire they knew their place and were awesome live. Fast forward just a few weeks to the end of 1984 and Bono gets a line in Band Aid. His sanctimonious puss has never shut since.
  3. Bay City Rollers You Made Me Believe In Magic
  4. And with Rooney fit it would take him about 3 hours to reach the penalty box....
  5. Sad to say but I think we have seen Rooney's best days. He is collecting ever more frequent injuries and really offers nothing other than tap in goals. On days when we are up against it.....0-0 away from home and the home team are playing better than us he is effectively like us playing with 10 men. Stockley I liked when he first came in. Offered a different option, especially in situations like that mentioned above but his flying elbows mean hes a a red card in waiting every time he takes to the field. He tries his heart out but just isn't very good and slower than a wet weekend in Lochgelly. Storey....seen so little of him that it's difficult to assess him other than we know he has electric pace, but seems to have the touch of a kangaroo wearing high heels. And there will always be "that" miss... Maynard....Early days yet but his recent history elsewhere doesn't inspire confidence. Does seem to link up play better than any of the other 3, but needs to get a goal soon....for his confidence and it's what strikers are paid to anyway. I think we really do need to get Moult and May in asap. However I think if we get one of them in during this window we will be doing well. I'd prioritise Moult in that instance and try to ship Stockley out, paying up his contract if necessary. Should miracles happen and we get May in too then Storey can follow. I think because of his genuine pace alone there will be clubs out there happy to take over his contract, maybe even pay a nominal fee. If we get nobody in......we should score enough to keep us top 4 but I wouldnt bet against sevco and Hibs finishing above us
  6. I like it. The team going second always had the pressure on their players ( assuming team going first players converted their kicks). This way the pressure playing catch-up is theoretically alternated....much fairer
  7. Used to do it from central fife in just over 90 minutes (unless Dundee was heaving) and would always manage about 6-8 home games a season. Now its 2 and a half hours from South Lanarkshire. Twice a season is all I manage now. However Hamilton, Motherwell, Partick etc are a piece of piss to get to...
  8. Found the fee for Waghorn incredible for a guy in the final year of a contract (who has performed as badly recently). Took a quick shufty on sevco media and they're saying that its bullcrap, the fee is around 250k. I'd still say they've overpaid but apparently Waghorn once went for £3million from Sunderland to Leicester. Probably see sevco now bump up their bid for Walker to about 750k, Fartz would be mad not to accept. I hope to hell we get Moult in the next couple of days because I can see sevco targetting him too once they get the Walker deal over the line...
  9. I'm prepared to give Arnason a few weeks to get up to speed but its been clear for a while that Reynolds is finished at this level. What I'd like to know because I havent seen confirmation anywhere though I may have missed it....did big Gash turn down a new contract offer or was he not even offered one in the first place? He had his faults for sure but I would have been happy enough to have had him onboard as a squad player.
  10. Miller didnt hold back on what he thought of Arnason on radio commentary. And he wasnt too complimentary about his replacement either... Sounded like Hamilton tried to kick us off the park, though for a good 20 minute spell after the sending off it sounded like they were the better side. Its a bastard facing them on their own ground straight away, especially in a knockout competition, really not sure what changes we need to make but I'd be tempted to drop Shinnie back to left back, pair Arnason with Consi and move AOC into midfield to try to combat their physicality. Anyway good start boys
  11. 15065 according to radio
  12. Maynard in, Wright in....Stockley and GMS to bench 3-1 ( AOC, Maynard, Stewart)
  13. i saw the cups of pish too I hope UEFA fuck these c@nts right out of the competition But i also want f@ck all to do with any notion of us being reinstated in their place. We got beat cos we played shite over there and couldn't keep a clean sheet at home..
  14. [quote author=donsdaft link=topic=19451.msg320151#msg320151 date=1501859 I've nothing against Christie but I do have severe reservations about allowing Celtic to loan out players to other teams in the same division. The fact that we went and borrowed one of their players is an embarrassment. But I have I think mentioned this before. I can understand where you are coming from DD. However Celtic don't see him as a viable first team option yet...and they possibly might never do. So he was always going to get sent out on loan. I sure as hell would rather have him with us rather than a Hearts/Hibs/St Johnstone where he would be more than likely to do us a lot of damage..
  15. Had time overnight to reflect on that performance last night. I think it's patently obvious that even teams from 2000 miles away can see Consi's lack of pace at left back is an easy option to exploit. It's something we have got away with for a couple of years at SPFL level ( except against the Dhims) but I now think its time the problem was addressed properly. Shinnie was supposed to be that solution but is now obvious McInnes sees him pretty much exclusively as a midfielder. Now I'm hoping we get Moult in by early next week ( along with either Storey or Stockley out) but once that one is over the line surely to God we must be looking at getting a proper left back in place. Hopefully young Harvie will develop into a first team player in the next 12-24 months till then there has to be a relatively cheap option somewhere in the lower leagues in Britain that would do a job for us. It would also have the benefit of us then being able to shift Consi into central defence to replace Reynolds who just isnt physical enough to play there these days and whose main attribute which offset that lack of physicality ( his pace) has sadly disappeared..
  16. We should have bust a gut to get Moult in a fortnight ago. 500k would get him. Even if we fired in a bid tomorrow we aint gonna get him now till next week as they'll want him to face sevco on Sunday. By time hes up to speed with the squad itll be September now.
  17. Thought Maynard was ok far better than Stockley was. Stewart was honking. I didn't want him before he signed and I don't want him now. He has had one decent season with Dundee...that's his level. First goal root cause was him not even attempting to track back... GMS the jury is out on. Had a few nice touches but end product was pretty poor. I think he will be an ok addition tho. Anyway I'm laying the blame directly at Deek's door. Just think he picked the wrong starting 11...
  18. download mobdro then nick the premier sports stream..
  19. Stockley cannot be trusted to start with his flying elbows. Maynard up front for me, Stockley to replace last 15 or 35 if things going badly (Rooney to replace if things are going well) Stewart to bench, Tansey in, again straight replacement if things are going badly. Arnie.....think its a week or 2 too early to be starting him and O'Connor has done nothing wrong to warrant being dropped. Ive no real reason other than gut instinct to think this but I do not believe we will keep a clean sheet over there so Id rather we went all out for an early away goal than sit in and try to soak up pressure.
  20. Fuck.... They might get in some c@nt that actually has a clue what he's doing now... Or they might get Hartley
  21. Id have Mulgrew in before Reynolds. And Lee Miller before Rooney...offers far more all round and would definitely score more than he did with the current team giving him a far better supply. Cwith would be a decent bench option.
  22. As I've said before, just rerouting Pittodrie Street, if it were simply a case of realigning the road, probably would be doable, although I'm not sure we would have an aesthetically pleasing end result either in completed stadium or surrounds. However the bit folk just don't seem to get is that there a shitload of services running right under Pittodrie Street. Sewers, gas, electric and phone/broadband cables all lie underneath and also need rerouting. This would have to start a fair way up Pittodrie Street probably 250-300 metres of road and services needing rerouted. How much do you think this will cost?? And lets not forget any new stadium would need its services hooked into these too...we couldnt just use the existing ones. This is what causes the redeveloping Pittodrie option ( to a 20000 capacity sized stadium) unrealistic. Costs are just too great. Whereas selling Pittodrie gives us a base chunk of the costs for a new clean sheet stadium on a new site. Its time to move on.
  23. The cash we have made from the 2 Euro gates so far will pay for Moult. Rooneys thigh has gone again, Deek said out for 2 weeks but last time it went it ended his season resulting in the Church loan. Maynard....I was a bit meh when he signed and nothing so far has changed that opinion. Maybe a few weeks more training and getting to know the system might help but my gut feeling is he past his peak by quite a bit. If we get through to the next round ( i believe we will need to score there to do so) we are going to need a far better striker on board to face the quality of opposition we are likely to face. Stockley is no more than a sub to change our style if things are going badly looking forward. Splash the cash Wiggy...
  24. It happened. I'm very local...
