  1. Man U should have had that wrapped up much earlier, only have themselves to blame they didn't.
  2. Yip, his commentary for the goal included this "Vernon's movement, for once, was good . . . .", he didn't think he was up for it today.
  3. What an impeccable interview! Very long time since that happened.
  4. And so say all of us, give it the fuck up ya dick.
  5. Thats just it though, it isn't going to be slightly less and the competition won't mean very much when there poor quality fitba on show, leaving aside the meaningless matches from January onwards. I have not got a clue what the SPL clubs are going to do to resolve this, I just agree with Milne and the guys on here who reckon it is mental to lose even more money in the short term as no-one has been able to demonstrate any financially viable alternative to the 10 or 12 team league, which few of us genuinely have any affection for. Money is tight and the quality of the game is getting close to bottoming out, attendances will drop and that is pretty much inevitable. The collapse of Setanta began the SPL's decline but I suspect it would have been in bother anyway given the more general financial situation. If the game is well supported, of a decent quality and doing well in Europe it won't matter a fuck how many teams are in the top division, the bottom divisions, whether there's a regional component to the League Cup, any of that.
  6. I agree and I think Ferguson took on the wrong gig there too. Maybe get chance of Davidson/Nicholson now?
  7. The point being that the 10 would not be the ends but the means to it. I'm no fan of a 10 or 12, either is just as pish as a 16 team league if all the teams are pish but there's little point further impoverishing teams by further splitting the money pot up, certainly not in the short term when club's incomes are declining. We also moved away from larger leagues than 10 or 12, I'm assuming there were reasons behind that too.
  8. Utterly disposable, Brian Laws and Darren Ferguson binned today. 16 out of 90 odd clubs binned their manager this season! McGhee has a wikipedia record, got to be in with a shout to get sacked too?
  9. Is the correct, but fairly often repeated answer.
  10. Or just paracetamol and hot diluting, or for a twist, put some ginger ale in the microwave, add a spoon of honey and a wee bit of whisky. Yes.
  11. NOT AS MUCH AS THE OTHER OPTIONS.
  12. For the fuckteenth time it is not about more money, it's about not losing more than we have to.
  13. We sound pish, desperate at the back already, dear fuck.
  14. Jesus wept.
  15. Please ensure I'm a "relevant authority".
  16. Pretty sure it's the best supported league in the world, I think, judged by percentage of stadia capacity, or something.
  17. The same? Not at present, short term it is probably for the best.
  18. And still thoroughly delusional by the looks of things given your government/civil list solution to footballing poverty.
  19. It just does not work like that and that's been established over and over again in the past.
  20. Right now it just doesn't make any sense to change the league structure much, financial suicide. The teams are just going to have to develop and PLAY the products of their youth teams. They'll be too skint to do otherwise and that's no necessarily a bad thing.
  21. I don't get this "playing the same teams over and over again" thing that is supposedly causing boredom, who else should we be playing? As Ajja says, how uncompetitive is the league going to be when there's 6-8 teams with nothing to play for with possibly months left of the season? That's fucking boring and every solution to the lack of income and games from an expanded league are very far from convincing. The managers, coaches and players, who take all the fucking money out of the game have a duty to put something back in, that won't fucking happen either. Poor attitudes on the pitch do not help attitudes from the stand, perhaps the tightening of finances will get a bit more out of lifes coasters.
  22. Aye. All these puns are giving me the horn.
