From what I've seen we are very weak through the middle, yes we desperately need width, a winger or 2 or maybe just play Pawlett but Anderson fit would be a thoroughly positive addition to the team. Improves the team, suits me fine but he has to both prove fitness and be on the right terms.

Yes, all of it bad and shipping goals. If Anderson improves the team, and he would seem to be a better standard than we have AND is on payp then it is a very easy decision. There are several players I'd hastily usher out the door to accommodate Anderson and the truth is, if he isn't fit til February then let's wait til February and if it's a payp deal it's academic anyway.

Maybe "proven" isnt the right word. But reducing prices doesn't work economically with no guarantees of a substantial enough return of disaffected/skint fans given most clubs have a fragile balance sheet I don't see what clubs alternatives are in the short to mid term. Motherwell and Hearts have experimented with reducing prices, albeit whilst paying wages they couldn't/can't support. You'd have to assume given those examples, if folk want a price reflective of the standard, the standard will most likely have to drop still further to accommodate the revenue loss.
