The point is that keeper is nowhere near the problem position/positions. The transitory nature of the team over the last 2 or 3 seasons is such that there is no settled nature to the defence, hence transition again. I reckon unless we get a couple of decent centre halves in we'll go nowhere in any case, regardless of the keeper we have, I am not suggesting he's excellent or even good for that matter, I don't reckon we have a player in the entire squad who could get to near being a "good" player but for the money we are likely to be paying, he does a decent job. I hadn't posted for quite some time prior too. The stewarding and policing in our area were astonishingly fucking retarded. Apathy? Probably not, more fucking raging with the manner the people "running" our club managed to find YET ANOTHER way to fuck it up even more and really weary of the utter stupidity that permeates our support and the inevitability of the debates even here. I thought it was a stick on pen but nowhere near a red card, I didn't think it was a clear goal scoring opporchancity, no such rule as last man. We were coping just fine and playing pretty confidently up to and a fair bit beyond that point too.

Fair decision if he retired, just seems like he arrived fine but his legs just went, it happens and with the added responsibility of trying to keep that band of tits together when organised by that catastrophe McGhee it's not hard to see how he got burned out. Doesn't really help when he has the utter shambles of humanity that have been Vujadinovic/Ifail/Diamond/Considine/McArdle in front of him, none of whom I would be comfortable with any longer, though clearly 3 of those won't be there anyway.
