Flight was brilliant.Always like a Tom Hanks film so look forward to that one. Watched a random film called Plain Truth, about an Amish girl getting pregnant and the following rigmarole.Just looking at Amish people makes me depressed, but it was a decent watch with an unexpected ending

Re - McGinn

All tom widdows ones ^^^^ Ultr groups trying to introduce samba style songs to a Scottish crowd. It doesnt suit us.Probably why it doesnt catch on.A bit more imagination could use eg,some of our hundreds of local traditional tunes, change the words and have unique songs that more of us could identify with Folk standing in the back rows of the SS,when youre trying to watch the game from the concourse

What a difference a day makes.Go away for the day,and half your strike force are potentially away. Hope McGinn isnt considering the Hearts move.I'd be looking at their manager,(who looks like he's done an SVQ football manager course at Brechin college),and thinking Do I want to work with this guy? Doesnt have the gravitas yet to gain the respect as a manager IMO.Looks a bit of a dweeb too Hope McGinn sees similar Hayes has stated he's settled here too(as long as McInnes is manager - his words). Maddison - a great player, but as said, wages could be used in a more important position if he doesnt stay

Just back from the Arrochar Alps.Headed down about 8 am yesterday, with the intention of an easy amble up 1 munro(Ben Vorlich) on day one,and then do the 3 nearby ones the next day,and then back up the road Set off from Inveruglas around 11am and got down from Ben Vorlich summit around 2.15pm."That wasnt as bad as I thought" I said to myself. The next munro was just across the glen, and a similar size to the one I had just done. Was sure i could nip up,get to the summit for around sunset, get back down most of the mountain with the remaining light, and if need be,use the head torch for the remaining walk back to the car Seemed like a plan, and headed across the glen, and joined the track going up to the next hill(Ben Vane). Thought it was time for some food, since I hadnt yet had a break because it had been too cold to hang around for long.Sat down behind a rock for late lunch. Got going again, and realised the sun was setting already, and I was only 2/3 of the way up!! Had a wee think about whether to carry on,as the wind was quite strong now too,but opted to go on.Picked up the pace, got to a point further up the hill, and checked the time.I was at about the same length of time as Id taken to reach the last summit,a similar sized hill, and thought "Canna be far fae the summit now, surely?". Got to the top of a brow, and then this extra lump appeared... "Gosh, thats unfortunate isnt it?",I chuckled ....And there was another smaller one beyond that Got to the summit, but didnt hang around and started on my way back down. There was still enough light to get down past the rocky and icy upper 1/3 of the hill. The next third(head torch on) was a wet grassy slope,in between the 2 hills which were acting as a wind funnel. When I wasnt struggling to stay on my feet,I was on my arse 3 times because of the surface. Back at the car at 6.30pm Next day though, things were looking good.A bright sunny, frosty start, and theyd said most areas would be fine all day.Intention was to do Beinn Ime,over to Beinn Narnain, and hopefully catch a romantic sunset on the Cobbler to finish off the day. Got going up Beinn Ime,a steep hill.Got to about half way up, and the clag(mist) came down.Got to the summit, and the snow started to come down, and didnt look like stopping soon.Hung around for half an hour, but decided to abort mission, along with a few others at the summit. So much for the forecast Cracking start to the 2017 campaign

Work ethic may be part of his problem, but when the team as a whole has been playing without the intensity we had yesterday, options for a player like McGinn are limited.Defences have gotten organised because weve been too slow to break and he's left on his own to produce(head goes down).Though I'd say the forwards in general dont work hard enough to create space,or anticipate the next ball well enough Hope he stays though
-
Not sure about the Taylor/Reynolds combo who did ok yesterday,but... 3 unchanged teams and 3 wins.By all means drop someone if off form, but continuity has to be best for building understandings between players. If we could play with that intensity more often we'd win a lot more than we have been.Hope these are changes in McInnes attitude for 2017. Happy New Year to all,and COYR

Reports that Alex Neil saying he's adamant that Maddison will NOT be staying on after all.... Edited for link - https://www.facebook.com/sheeponfire/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf

Same team as the last couple of games LEWIS LOGAN SHINNIE CONSIDINE TAYLOR REYNOLDS JACK MACLEAN MCGINN ROONEY HAYES Subs - ALEXANDER,PAWLETT,OCONNOR,MADDISON,BURNS,STOCKLEY,STOREY
-
Hope he doesnt use Stockley for muscle up front.Use our pace, and play through them quickly and I'd fancy our chances. COYR

Doesnt sound too hopeful on the transfer front(from a McInnes BBC interview) - "All being well, we have a squad already which should see us through to the end of the season. "But the January window is an opportunity to see what's out there and, if we feel there is a player out there who can help our cause, we will maybe look to do something." Also, Ash Taylor quote in relation to staying here longer - “I’ve loved every minute up here. The gaffer has been brilliant, the team is settled and my wife has settled up here now. We have a kid now too and we’re really settled here.” Hmmmm...

The Specials - Too much, too young
-
Yes,Reynolds should go this window if poss.Enquired about him at l/b because I dont want him near the centre of defence if we're forced to play Consi and Reynolds at the same time
-
Not easy to tell from this angle, but his hand seems to move after the ball had gone forward, possibly because of a foul, but someone on here in the Mainer or RDS might have had a better view??....
-
No never saw much from Crawford yesterday, but looks more a trickier player than the imposing grafter we're looking for. A few folk think Tansey is on his way.Without setting pulses racing,he's probably more what we're looking for,out of whats available/in our price range. If Consi was asked to play in central defence, has Reynolds not played at left back? Seem to remember him there a few seasons ago,but cant remember the verdict.

Reasonable crowd today,13,131, though the queues at the South stand before k/o were a bit OTT.wonder if having the cash turnstiles made a bigger than anticipated crowd..
-
Ah ok,will give it a look again next time then....

Rarely watch TV these days but have seen bits and pieces due to family visits over Xmas.A couple of random programmes that I managed to see.... Travel time? (forgotten its name),48 hours in Florence - normally I would have found this quite interesting, getting to see around an unfamiliar City,but.....the hosts I thought were a poor combination. The large female hostess, looked half interested most of the time, only perking up when it came to eating, especially if confectionary was involved. The Host - likeable enough guy, maybe tried too hard to be funny too much of the time.Drop the hostess, and change the format a bit, might be worth a watch Could do better 5/10 Tracy Ullman show - Havnt seen her for years.Wasnt side splitting stuff, but clever humour. Some of the impersonations were very good,Judie Dench in particular,Angela Merkel pretty good too. 7/10
-
Thought we were poor first half, maybe the unfamiliar line up(whatever it was - 3 5 1 1??),didnt help, but we were shaky in defence, and both predictable and unimaginative up front, never really got into a rythym.Better second half.Thankfully Rooney was on hand for the goal, but cant remember him being involved too much apart from that. Not sure if thats due to lack of continuity,or just off form, but i was thinking Pawlett might have been a better option later on,to run at them.(and then Adam goes and scores.) Jack was pretty anonymous first half, but came onto a game in the second.Good to get the win,but we're capable of much better with what weve got
