  1. Rarely watch TV these days but have seen bits and pieces due to family visits over Xmas.A couple of random programmes that I managed to see.... Travel time? (forgotten its name),48 hours in Florence - normally I would have found this quite interesting, getting to see around an unfamiliar City,but.....the hosts I thought were a poor combination. The large female hostess, looked half interested most of the time, only perking up when it came to eating, especially if confectionary was involved. The Host - likeable enough guy, maybe tried too hard to be funny too much of the time.Drop the hostess, and change the format a bit, might be worth a watch Could do better 5/10 Tracy Ullman show - Havnt seen her for years.Wasnt side splitting stuff, but clever humour. Some of the impersonations were very good,Judie Dench in particular,Angela Merkel pretty good too. 7/10
  2. Thought we were poor first half, maybe the unfamiliar line up(whatever it was - 3 5 1 1??),didnt help, but we were shaky in defence, and both predictable and unimaginative up front, never really got into a rythym.Better second half.Thankfully Rooney was on hand for the goal, but cant remember him being involved too much apart from that. Not sure if thats due to lack of continuity,or just off form, but i was thinking Pawlett might have been a better option later on,to run at them.(and then Adam goes and scores.) Jack was pretty anonymous first half, but came onto a game in the second.Good to get the win,but we're capable of much better with what weve got
  3. At the game.disjointed stuff so far.need more imagination up front next half.Accies are pish
  4. Aye they made an arse of the turnstile thing, though looking like a decent crowd today. In SS X Driving/Driving 2 - 0 Dons. Storey x2
  5. Was a big fan of the Quo growing up(before they went all marguerita time). For me they were an escape from the dodgy music of the mid to late seventies like Cassidy, the Osmonds, the Chilites.Simpleton rock but it felt rebellious at the time. Rip Rick Re George Michael - Couldna stand the guy but pretty shocked to hear the news. Sounds like heart failure they say
  6. Sleet in Elgin. Setting aside rations as we speak...
  7. yip,we carried on pressing(no game management),and reaped the rewards.Hopefully 1 lesson learned for McInnes

  19. I think theres still a similar pool of folk in the N/E that will go to games,as there was back in the Fergie days.Aside from the season after the ECWC win in 83/84 where our average home attendance was around 17500,our home crowds now,in a less successful era, arent that much different from back then. Our away support over the last 20 years is as big as its ever been IMO. In the seventies and eighties,Outside of Dundee,or big cup games, some of our away supports were tiny. So,I would say theres still a good core of folks that will turn up for games if theres competition EDIT - in response to DeeDon
  20. Couldnt believe we managed to get Seve. His first season or two he was outstanding. Some screamers of goals too Great memories of both those games.Always remember the poles, students etc outside their tenement doors applauding us up Merkland road after the Copenhagen game.Happy days
  21. From a large family,so one of us is doing a starter for Xmas dinner(me),one doing the main(brother) and one doing dessert(sister).Thankfully only 8 of us on Xmas day. Usually a gathering of around 20 on Boxing day, though manage to avoid kitchen duties on that occasion...
  22. Ooft no way .Durrant for Buc...trying to hae my breakfast
  23. Anyway - Rush - Spirit of the radio
  24. Ok,but you can use part of the song title in the name of a band*as your answer,as long as the next answer uses the song title of that band*?? ??? Edit - looks like its songs titles from song titles then
  25. Weve got ourselves partly to blame for how things turned out though. What we did to get Rangers demoted was the right thing(not that we should have had to),but, for too many of us the thrill of getting Rangers sent down was all that mattered, rather than following through with the less exciting stuff, like changing the voting structure etc.I remember the mood at the time, not enough of us had the stomach to keep it going. If were thinking of chucking it(and I could quite happily switch to other pursuits,golf/hills etc too),then should we not at least make the effort to change things before we do,esp those of us who have seen it all.The other teams should resign* from the league for a start if this really is about colt teams for only the OF.Id want to hear a statement from AFC soon if true. *In fact why not do it anyway
