  1. Too early to rule anyone out yet, even Stevie May(hasnt been tried enough in a front 2),.....or Forrester for that matter til we get the semblance of our strongest squad playing over a number of games Gleeson and Forrester looked reasonable additions at the time, but look like they could be the weak link in the side.Think they both need a manager that can get into their heads, which I think is one of Del's weaker areas of management IMO. Maybe need to source someone more authoritative in January for midfield
  2. Hints of winter at Pittodrie on Saturday, and confirmation on A'Chralaig on Sunday.White stuff is back, earlier than last year
  3. Nae sure about Mattiels orange breeks/boots combo.Did her budgie die? 'Jam in the Van' is a good wee site for unheard of new bands Bit of funk with Pims of Joytime Turquaz
  4. DM must go calls are a bit OTT. This isnt to defend DM but according to the stats,we had 17 chances yesterday,to St J's 4,with us having 7 shots on target and them having 3. I'm guessing most of those chances came after we went a goal down, played with a bit more urgency and with 2 up front? Certainly sounded like it on the radio.Food for thought
  5. Thought i'd done well getting onto the St J slip road at 2.15,after leaving ABZ at 12.45.Was still in traffic after kick off when the polis stopped traffic going towards McDiarmid and diverted us towards the town centre. GTF I thought, and headed home According to the radio, sounded quite an open game, and we were at our more effective when we went 4-4-2?pressing high up the pitch? Pity we didnt start like that. Dont know if we took our foot off the peddle after the goal to settle for a draw,...hope not.More of the same might have won us the game. Sounded like May was more starved of service than total mince?,but those at the game might have seen different
  6. Still stuck in mcdiarmid traffic after arriving at 2.15.Hope ko delayed...
  7. The North stand at McDiarmid is closed for this game(burst water pipe I think),and folks will be moved to other stands. Says "Aberdeen fans will therefore be housed in the South stand"(which I thought was already sold out.)No word if theyll open a section of Saints end for ticketless Dons like myself http://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/news/post/revised-arrangements-ormond-stand-users
  8. Find KT Tunstall a hard woman to like, but cant deny she can craft a good song, and think she's penned a cracker here
  9. What sort of odds do you get for predicting no goal scorer when we score nil? That traffic thing could scupper my going.Have to ask Perth biding bro in-law how bad it is before setting off
  10. Dont know much about Tom Crotty, but heres an interview - EDIT, last years investment
  11. Normally just rock up and pay at the gate cant you for this one? Or go into the home end ala ICT Working in the morning, but hope to nip down afterwards.Canna be worse than v Killie surely 2 - 2 (GMS, Shinnie)
  12. Nice.Must be about the end of the ski season out there.Visited my sister in late summer last time in NZ.Weather was great, but everything was a bit parched by then, and said i'd make the next trip a spring visit to include skiing. How do the runs compare to Scotland, lengthwise? Looks not dissimilar in those photos

'You owe me an apology' she says after denying she had been coached from the sidelines. Her coach later admitted he had been coaching. Wonder if she thinks she owes the Umpire an apology...
  14. Fine day out on the Strathfarrar 4 Munros yesterday. The drive up Glen Strathfarrar alone is worth a trip.Birch and pine clad hills, with lots of flat riverside camping spots up a remote glen, one of the bonniest in Scotland Approach to the 4 hills was quite soggy, but once above 500m terrain becomes some of the easiest Munro walking with mainly short cropped grass Approaching the 3rd summit,Sguur A Choire Ghlas View along the ridge from the 2nd summit,Carn Nan Gobhar, which was the stoniest section Fine day out, followed by a fine steak and pint at the Priory,Beauly.Nice to see the Dons scarf in the bar when thru to watch some fitba
  15. Theres always the option of resigning from the league and starting a new league, like we should have done at the time of Doncaster-gate IMO. If we can get 20'000 at Easter road for an also ran battle last saturday, what would we get if it was a league title challenge....(Aye ok,20'000 because it only holds 20'000 ) Scottish fitba was dying a death pre 2012,and will do again, assuming the scum continue to progress.
  16. A wee delve into the archive with the Fab Thunderbirds.Seen here with Keith Bremner on guitar fae Aibuldeen, standing in for Jimmy Rae Vaughan(Stevies brother),who was out injured.Played in the city about 1980 supporting Rockpile. Cracking harp solo Speaking of Stevie....
  17. Out of curiosity I had a look up past attendances for comparisons.Surprised to see McInnes' has bettered a lot of Fergies averages. http://www.fitbastats.com/aberdeen/club_records_league_attendance.php
  18. May had been showing signs of improvement recently, we seemed to go to shit as a whole yesterday. Keeping schtum for now til everyones back and we get a good look at whatever our 1st 11 is over a decent period
  19. Mind coming out that end after the LC final being a bit of a stramash. Can see how a wee bit of trouble could escalate
  20. Deary me. Was hoping to see him at some point today. Brings Anderson into the running hopefully. See we've signed a youngish(21) defender, Jordan McGregor
  21. Tyrone saying £6.5m.Fair play to the club for holding out again.Would have accepted that personally
  22. Always liked David Begg too, canna believe he said that. Flippin poultice
  23. OK,I'll get it https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/borders/
  24. Not sure how mobile you are but getting the circulation going with a bit of regular daily walking can help Is it the S/W youre at? https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/galloway/
  25. Wouldnt be surprised, assuming Mckenna is still with us,that if the defence becomes more reliable,McInnes feels more justified in continuing with game management. "Looking to see the game out at 1 - 0" with 45 mins left, goes against instincts, and the object of the game.Going by yesterday, the players dont seem to be comfortable with it.If you have too fixed a mindset like that, does it allow for opportunities in the game when the opposition defence look vulnerable and might be worth going at. Attack is a problem for us.If we dont look to attack with intent regularly enough,we surely take the edge off how we do it effectively. Am hoping, as a McInnes fan,he negotiates a bit more with his ideas, both to grow as a manager, and to avoid him (and us) becoming stale doing the same old year in/out,...despite the relative success of recent years.A stable defence should be an opportunity to loosen the reins a bit.
