  2. I thought Cosgrove did well but would prefer we went for pace up front down there.I think we could break a bit more effectively, and with more confidence as I didnt think they caused us major problems
  3. Totally agree, and most of the Burnley fans have been quite modest if anything.Whole build up has been quite low key too. Not usually ready for fitba at this time of year, but its quite an intriguing tie, totally unpredictable. COYR
  4. May have to write off Europa to get the right man,......and hope its not a case of 'thats a yer getting' Heart/imagination says a draw up here, and a sensational 'diving' header from GMS to net the winner at Turf Moor COYR
  5. Theres nae doubts our songs need a bit of an update. Some of the wording in a few of them are so cringeworthy,I,and am sure many others, dont bother to partake.....'Were bouncin' on yer head', ...'10 men went to mow' etc etc. Could be an age thing.. but still.. There were various attempts on Abmad a few years ago to introduce new songs.Threads would appear and disappear, but 9 times out of 10 the suggestions were either rehashes of other clubs songs, or samba type things from latin America, neither of which suited us,or had any association with AFC I suggested a construct a song(s) thread where we'd suggest some of the many tunes originating from the N/E that most folk knew,...that would suit being used as a football song, and adjust and fine tune the lyrics via input from the various posters. Or something like that,..a bit more orgiginality, and more inclusive/exclusive to a wider section of our own fans?
  6. Kick off delayed til 8pm,travel issues lewis Logan Devlin McKenna Shinnie Ball Ferguson Forrester GMS Wright Cosgrove
  7. Possibly, but it's only one, slightly pessimistic, angle.Firstly,we lose players all the time, Inc during fergies time, but i f we did look like we were a young team on the up, players would be more reluctant to leave. If we became seen as a team that bloods young players it would be easier to attract more, and I think the fans could relate more to that type of team. Youth isn't Dereks strong point but a change of strategy might be a shot in the arm for him and us.
  8. We seem to be working within a small pool of buyable players of a decent standard. Only upside might be bring forced to blood more youngsters. Wouldn't be averse to signing up the best of young Scottish talent, and allowing a season or so of mid table mediocrity as long as we could see some signs of progress. Whether they would be allowed the time am not sure , going by some of the pant wetting across the forums
  9. Change of scene.Latino - Newen Afrobeat And a chubby 17 year old plays the blues, with some good old bass slapping added in
  10. Agree with most of that.Only thing I'm not sure about is whether Cosgrove has a strikers instinct in him waiting to be teased out,or that it isnt atcually there in the first place.Half the problem I think has been the lack of supply to the strikers, with an inconsistent GMS and Stewart (who wasnt a natural winger),and therefore unfair to be over critical.Would also be keen to see what McGinn could do as a partner to May or Cosgrove, with possibly Wright out wide or AN other Convincing Shinnie we need him at left back(not his favoured position),....and assuming the new midfield are upto the task,eg Ball and Gleeson sitting, with Forrester further forward?,...curious to see what that line up does with an addition or 2 here and there
  11. Still bouncin' at the Dom Ball news Rooneys got just under 2 years left on his contract.Gotta be more than £50k in it for us surely,as suggested?
  12. Logan and Forrester with a nice free kick
  13. None taken ,I dont actually know who the guy is,but the source(on another forum) is normally reliable
  14. .....pinch of salt time but, Phil Foden being mentioned elsewhere,on loan from Man City...
  15. Thains are very good too,but they leave an aftertaste/film in the mooth IMO.Lard? Aitkens still good, but try the Breadmaker,...fine wee cafe there too
  16. Back to important matters after the World Cup.... After various coffee breaks over the last few months, whittled down the list to a top 3,and re-tested them again today at the same time Left - Byron bakery,Top - Breadmaker Rosemount,Right - Bruce o' the Broch Bruce o the Broch wasnt as good as i remembered.Byron bakery very good again, but the Breadmaker won it today for size(about 1/4 bigger than the rest),and quality - light flaky buttery, with a wee bit of crunch(nae actually sure what the ideal rowie characteristics are,but my pref) ps worst one was fae a wee baker in Stoney.Type of rowie that when you picked it up at one side, the other would flop down. Also the smallest size around.Made in Dundee just to make it worse....
  17. ^^^^Have a listen to their rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody Bahamas - I got you babe

  20. Not sure this is on topic, but a good listen.Over an hour, but you get the gist after the first 15 mins

  22. I was foolish,.....Foolish I say. So much so,we've booked the same place next year
  23. Left a cool Aberdeen yesterday morning for a trip to Dornie to bag a couple more Munros.Got there with temps at 28oC(bad enough),but also surrounded by a plague of clegs rather than midges. Didnt take long to decide not to bother. On the way back though, had a nip up Bennachie, where Ive never actually been on the true summit, and I think also a lot of other folks who think the 'Mither tap' is. Easiest(and best) route is to park at the 'Back o' Bennachie'(..far the Gadie rins) car park, between Oyne and Insch.Around an hour up,hour down for most folk At the top of the car park, there is a board showing where Oxen Craig, the actual summit is,and you get to it by following the 'Mither Tap' trail...just to confuse Good paths all the way.The signs dont tell you when you have reached Oxen Craig, the summit. You could believe its the first one the path takes you to as you come out of the woods, but its the second summit behind that, Summit Looking east to the Mither Tap
  24. Nope,...but I never thought of Robson or Flood before they signed.Am sure theres scope for a surprise
