SC Semi-final - Dons - HIVs - Sat 22 April - 12:15

Agreed,we need to keep on the front foot. The amount of times weve lost goals when weve tried to manage games .Were just not good enough at it,nor does it suit us IMO. We had some bright spells of football yesterday, but other times a bit clumsy in the pass. And slow in ideas, or anticipation for the next pass. We'll need to be brighter in thought and movement going by the way Celtic quickly pressed today.Yesterday was useful in what not to do. -
They had the hun end in the '86 final.Think the opposite end in the semi final in the nineties('96?)

Still fairly confident, some nice spells of fitba, othertimes a wee bit disjointed.Sort that out and Hibs are nothing special, keep the pressing and energy up.....COYR -

Am not against a standing section by the way,but I seem to remember a bit of a clamour to get a singing section into the Merkland.A lot of the requesters seem to have disappeared. There was some demand at the time(I think) to make the whole stand the singing section.Even if youd quadrupled the amount of guys that go in that case,it would still be a tiny percentage of the stand capacity. So,say there was a proper section,eg a standing section cage within the Merkland stand, how much more different would it work to what we have now,and how much more different therefore would it be in a new stadium? Though I'm not ruling out a new stadium triggering something more enthusiastic, the club have to work with the only figures theyve got to date to know what type of area there would be demand for....

Heres a random mix of clubs and their shuttle to stadium services,to give you an idea Leeds - https://www.leedsunited.com/club/Matchday-guide Colchester - http://www.cu-fc.com/news/article/travel-shuttle-bus-224084.aspx Reading - http://www.readingfc.co.uk/club/travel/buses-trains/ Cardiff - http://www.cardiffbus.com/english/CCFC Re the standing section - I'm not sure there would actually be that much of a demand for it.The singing section got their wish for location to the Merkland end(where they stand most of the time anyway),but it hasnt caught on.Whether thats because its mixed with the family section,or the plonkers that go there(or the songs they sing),or maybe just the dour N/E nature.Do you really think there is a demand for it,and how big an area?

Allrighty then

Just caught the highlights.Agree about O'Connor on the left, but why is that a penalty?Looked like a swing for the ball but connected with the Saint at the last minute? Highlights - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39536648

Just back from Skye over the weekend.Had meant to do more than I did,but an unexpected fall of snow put paid to doing a few more hills. But,did manage to get up Bruach na Frithe,(probably the easiest of the Skye munros),and recommend its ascent if in the area, and the weather is good. The views are simply fantastic. There are 2 ways up,either by the standard tourist routes,or by following the West ridge up from Glen Brittle. The West ridge is the option I took as follows. Bruach na Frithe - Take the road from Sligachan on Skye round to Glen Brittle. As you drive down the Glen Brittle road, there is a car park at the first piece of forestry on your RHS.Park there, cross the road, and follow the path towards the hills,to where it splits in 2.The path on the right takes you to the fairy pools, but take the path to the left. The Bruach na Frithe ridge is seen left to right, between the paths, in the photo IMG_0899 by [/url], on Flickr The path takes you past the trees on the left to the dip before the start of the ridge, where there is a cairn near a lochan where you turn right to start up the ridge IMG_0904 by , on Flickr Without giving the views away, and to give an idea of terrain, there is an initial scree slope... IMG_0915 by , on Flickr ...and the below photo gives an idea of the worst bit of exposure(path up to the left). IMG_0920 by , on Flickr The rest is pretty straight forward if that looks bearable. There is a path that carries on beyond the lochan which takes you round to a more gentle ascent up the hill if not.

Have been meaning to ask the same thing.Havnt heard much in the way of alternatives....

Deek playing it down on RedTV,saying he's been told by Ryan theirs been no contact, and doesnt anticipate.Thinks if he did move it would more likely be to England

Just finished work, packing the camping gear for Skye.Heading to Elgin first to do the old dears garden, take away and beer tonight, then boat fromElgol sometime on Saturday for a couple of days camping in the Cuillin COYC

Just a bit too young to understand what was going on then.Pledged allegiance to the Dons a couple of years later. Thrashing the European Cup finalists,(at home),in front of over 100'000 was some feat We had a better team than gets credit for.....

Hibs have sold around 15'000.We'll have similar to The last Hibs semi when we took around 12/13'000 though around 15'000 would be more deserved -
My last 2 vehicles have been off the internet via Auto trader and Exchange and Mart.flew down to Manchester and London for each, still saved a few grand despite flights and time off work
-
A wee footnote - Oxen craig is actually the true Bennachie summit, which is a few hundred metres to the West of mither tap,and probably easier to get to from the Oyne car park. There is a path over from Mither tap too though Therefore, lots of folks would need to re-do it if they want it as a 'bag'

I stopped going to Hun games for years, mainly because the shite we were singing was cringeworthy, and I hated the general atmosphere.Could never get my head around why we allowed ourselves to stoop to the Simmie/ibrox songs etc,but well, well, thats where we were at.Unlike the huns,I think(hope) it was a phase the N/E went through, and weve come out of that garbage.
-
Re snakes - A high percentage of sightings seem to be on the hills around Ballater for some reason.Seen 3,and theyve all been around there, usually out in the sun curled up. Bennachie - Went up it from a busy car park near Pitcaple with my pal and 2 seven year olds.Found the path a bit rough/stony.Think theres a better path, and quieter route from the Oyne car park
-
Were they standing on the Y in the second half?.Noticed a group of bald heads and shades
-
Just back - They didnt deserve to win that, but,we werent hungry or incisive enough. They closed us down pretty well.Rooney had a couple of chances, but offered very little for 90% of the game, would have had him off for pace to run through them more. Our movement was also pretty uninventive O'Connor was having a great game but for a moment of madness which cost us goal number 2,though the boy may have been on his blind side, and the initial pass from Taylor was stupid.I've defended Taylor a lot,but thought he was honking against ICT,and poor today Hope that was a freak.Need to come out all guns blazing whoever were playing next.
-
Yip,play the way thats got results, and get at them from the start. COYR
-
Just back from Pannanich hill near Ballater.Ice cream weather up there. Speaking of snakes further up the thread, just about stood on this lad.First Adder seen since the mid 90s. Sun still out at 8pm on the way home
-
In - I think, Furryboots - SS X Pre/Post - Driving Prediction - Dons to march on,7 - 2 (Storey x 9)
-
Just back - Started off bright enough, lost our rythym a bit mid match, and picked it up again near the end.A good 3 points though, against a tidy ICT.Their hammer thrower tags a bit harsh these days IMO.Should have been 2 nil but for a terrific goal line clearance from Storey . Drop Rooney for Considinho on Sunday and it could be a barrowload Highlights - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39414137
