  1. fabulous strike by bates there, unlucky not to score
  2. Off to spraypaint "Any win is a Goodwin" on the side of the open-top bus in anticipation.
  3. Richard Gordon, stop copying my homework min
  4. Looks like the misery continues. If I haven't read the table wrong, it's all actually become very simple - we have to beat Ross County, and Hibs have to lose or draw against Hearts. If that happens, we are 6th, the other results don't matter. If Hibs win we are 7th.
  5. Best possible result for this us this weekend (assuming we win) is wins for Dundee Utd, St Johnstone & Hearts, and for Well & St Mirren to draw. Incredibly that will jump us to 5th and put top 6 in our own hands next week.
  6. Remaining games borrowed from an earlier post by Panda: Dundee Utd (39): Hibernian (A); Dundee (H) Hibernian (37): Dundee Utd (H); Hearts (A) Livingston (37): St Johnstone (A); Motherwell (H) Ross County (36): Hearts (H); Aberdeen (H) Motherwell (36): St Mirren (H); Livingston (A) St Mirren (36): Motherwell (A); Rangers (H) Aberdeen (35): Dundee (A); Ross County (H) We clearly still need two wins out of two, but how do folk predict the final standings?
  7. Watkins made a difference as soon as he was on. Almost a perfect afternoon for us, only Dundee Utd scoring in the dying seconds spoils every result going in our favour.
  8. 2021/22: Currently 14. Already comfortably the most defeats in a season for a decade, back to 2011/12 (15 losses). However we would need to lose 6 of the all last 8 matches to equal the horror shows of 2003/4 and 2010/11 (22 losses), while losing all 8 would equal the most defeats in the clubs history (24 losses in 38 games – 1916/17). Apologies, somebody must have slipped me an Ibrox calculator for this part. 14 + 8 does of course = 22, not 24
  9. 2021/22 update: I'd forgotten about this thread until someone reminded me of it recently, and I thought it would be interesting in a hot-needles-under the nails kind of way to compare this season's progress with where we were 5 years ago. How time flies when you're having, well.. never mind. 2016/17 stats in quotes, 2021/22 stats underneath. 2021/22: Currently on 8 (eight). Two more wins needed from the remaining eight games to avoid sharing the honour of the worst record (9 wins – 2003/4, 2011/12) since the league switched back to 38 games in 2000/01. Failure to win any would secure joint 5th worst record in Dons history with 1905/06 (8 out of 30 games), and worst in 73 years, only beaten by 1948/49 (7 out of 30 games), 1916/17 (7 out of 38 games) and the inaugural 1904/1905 season (7 out of 22 games). However, win all 8 and we can bask in historical mediocrity instead, as the average for all 38 game seasons is 15.78 wins. 2021/22: Currently 8. Nothing to see here, we would have to draw all of our remaining eight games to worsen the current record for most draws in a 38 game season (15 – 2005/6, 2012/13), and the thrill-a-minute season that was 1993-94 is still untouchable with a mesmerising 21 draws (out of 44 games). Average for a 38 game season is 8.9. 2021/22: Currently 14. Already comfortably the most defeats in a season for a decade, back to 2011/12 (15 losses). However we would need to lose 6 of the last 8 matches to equal the horror shows of 2003/4 and 2010/11 (22 losses), while losing all 8 would equal the most defeats in the clubs history (24 losses in 38 games – 1916/17). 2021/22: Currently 33. Last season saw us equal the worst goalscoring record in Dons history (36 goals – 1916/17, 2009/10, 2011/12, 2020/21). We currently have 3 less than that. Average for a 38 game season is 57, so a hat-trick in each of our remaining games will see us hit par. 2021/22: Currently 38. This is the same as last season, and is the one positive stat we have, as this century only 3 other seasons have been more miserly – 2014/15 (33), 2016/17 (35) and 2017/18 (37). Now if we could only score goals… 2021/22: Currently -5. Move along. 2021/22: Currently 32. 3 points from 24 needed to avoid setting a new record for worst points total in the 3-points-a-game era (1994/5 onwards), with 1999/2000 (33 points in 36 games) and 2003/4 (34 points in 38 games) the years to beat. We will need to win all 24 points just to equal last year’s total of 56. The highest total in Dons history (76)? Well, that was 5 years ago…
  10. What's Alan Gow up to these days?
  11. His experience has been missed the past few months, got no problem with him getting another year.
  12. Wait, weren't Motherwell the first fan-owned club in the SPFL?
  13. woohoo, bottom six here we come
  14. the bbc match commentary is horrendous, almost as bad as the game
  15. I just assumed he was either very fast or very large.
  16. Very poor. Replacement glass has their work cut out - there's nothing to celebrate about squeaking a draw with the worst team on the league.
  17. Brown crocked. Not sure this can get much worse.
  18. Harsh faulting Hayes for the goal, he was clearly fouled (and has been our best player so far) - the rest of our defending, on the other hand...
  19. Boozy on the bench, little surprised by that, but interested to see what Barron is like.
  20. This isn't transition, it is freefall. The experiment is a failure, Glass is done.
  21. We've been shite ever since we failed to replace the toaster.
  22. I just couldn't bring myself to knock 30 points off my original prediction.
  23. Can't wait for the followup " I guess that's why we're foot of league two"
