  1. I doubt it's either - it's far more likely both McInnes and the club are refusing to get drawn into the artificial hysteria being whipped up by the tabloids to sell papers, and are just ignoring the Sevco circus. Despite the press insisting on describing him as a "candidate" rather than a name on a Sevco fan wishlist, there is zero indication that McInnes has applied for the position, or that Sevco have even approached the club. Even the £1.5M figure being bandied about is utterly baseless - the press are just parroting social media speculation by fans for lack of anything real to report. Same goes for the countless pseudo-analytical pieces about whether its the "right time" for him, talk of "stepping up" and other groundless fluff to appease Sevco readerships by pretending its a situation they have any control over. At the moment it's all just a miasma of cringeworthy tabloid sycophancy adding up to a great big shitepile of nothing.
  2. Welcome to the forums kir, I see you've already met our village rocket. I think most folk on here are pretty aware of the reality of modern-day Scottish football and would applaud McInnes for what he has achieved in an environment vastly different from that of the latter 20th century.
  3. I'd be inclined to agree, McInnes has already shown he wants to choose his next role carefully, and Sevco are a far larger basket case than Sunderland ever were.
  4. ...claim the bookies and tabloids. Getting touted as frontrunner, although I seriously doubt he would be that mad - he's outlasted 6 Sevco managers now. Six.

  6. McInnes confirmed just now on Sportsound that McLean told him a few days ago, but he got wind that someone else was going to run the story, so he broke it first.
  7. God getting right stuck in to Sounness's comments just now on Sportsound, highly pleasing.
  8. Massive, massive game. Heart: 2-1 us. Head: 2-1 them.
  9. So many words to state the obvious.
  10. I find some of the negativity around McGinn's legacy bewildering. McGinn, Hayes and Rooney were the cornerstone of the dramatic turnaround in the club's fortunes in the last five years. He may have had poor games like anyone else, but he was easily one of our best players.
  11. Strange time to announce it. He'd better hope the next Sevco manager is just as keen on him come January.
  12. Quick summary of our two loanees then: Bruce Anderson (CF) @ Elgin City (L2): Joined Elgin at the end of August for his first taste of regular senior football, made an immediate impact by scoring a double against Berwick (Elgin lost 3:2) followed by another against Montrose (Elgin won 2:0). Has played full 90 in the 2 league games since then. Connor McLennan (CF) @ Brechin City (CH): Went back to Brechin after a promising 1 month emergency loan last season where he scored once in 3 appearances for the then-league1 club. Has started all 6 games since joining them at end of August, but no goals so far in a seriously struggling Brechin side that has only managed 2 points from 30 in the Championship.
  13. I shall look forward to them shutting down the transport infrastructure of central Edinburgh for years before eventually installing a single seat in an already existing stand and leaving the rest to rust in a depot in Costorphine.
  14. I suspect upping Moult's bid was dependent on getting the extra money from reaching the euro playoffs - I also think we've lost out on him, but I reckon he'll be off down south now his highlights reel has got a bit of a boost.
  15. Can't wait for Pedro's press conference, the guy's face was practically purple by the end of the match
  16. Me or Storie? The jury's till oot on me I can only assume we've kept Storie on as cheap cover, I expected him to go the same way as Cammy Smith. Mind you, I also expected McKenna to go too, he's surprised me the last few games, good on the lad.
  17. FT well 2 Sevco Feck All Yet another ugly, brutal game of anti-football involving Sevco. Both managers sent to the stands, what should have been 4 players sent off, and some godawful refereeing.
  18. Unbelievable. That should've been a straight red for Alves. BTSport commentators reckon there should have been 3 straight reds in the game.
  19. Sevco losing 1-0 to Well, both managers sent to the stands, Cardoso off with a broken nose, Moult running around with a chunk out of his head. Make that 2-0. Moult just scored again
  20. Hemmin, I'm too busy moaning about the Scotland manager (whoever he is). We seem to have only two players out on loan at the moment - Connor McLennan to Brechin (although I keep seeing mentions of him being released last month) and Bruce Anderson to Elgin City. Or a meringue? From last year's loanees, Aaron Lennox, Dylan Thomas, Cammy Smith, Lawrence Shankland have all been punted Craig Storie, Daniel Harvie, Danny Rogers and Scott McKenna all moved up to 1st team for this year.
  21. Malky fecking Mackay. Interim manager. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41612064
  22. Strachan managed to set up and disprove his argument in one sentence.
  23. I'd go further and say that a much larger proportion of our 1st team should be youngsters picked on form. Then at least the senior Scotland squad would have a purpose by encouraging, rewarding, and showcasing emerging talent - the same as the national youth squads do, but as the highest level they can play at. We're never likely to win the world cup, so let's give real meaning to the "reward" of being called up.
