Given that this conversation has veered away from even a token association with football and seems to have become just an airing of assorted prejudices, isn't it time this embarrassment of a thread was moved to "off topic"?
Difficult to judge reliability from that source, HITC is a grab-bag of groundless speculation posing as journalism. They had Wayne Rooney going to Sevco a few weeks ago.
Given Skrtel is meant to be on £65-70Kpw, presumably this means Sevco's highest wage offer was around £15K. Or to put it another way, fat chance of landing any of those names they've been touting.
Well there's a surprise - Martin Skrtel's deal to Rangers off as club 'cannot fund it'.
The whole thing screams naivety on Gerrard's part and/or duplicity in what Sevco promised him.

I see the BBC story has changed from "stands down" to "sacked" and "relieved of his duties" after Sevco release their PR hatchet job.
I have some sympathy for Murty too, although Sevco turning on him should come as no shock to him - he's unsurprisingly arrived at being the scapegoat that all Sevco managers inevitably become. Gerrard take note.
If he's got any sense he'll tell them and their academy to do one.
That was a good example of the job Cosgrove was brought in for, physicality. Maybe there's hope for him yet.
Overall the team got hold of the match after the first goal and Hearts had absolutely nothing to threaten with. McGinn was very poor tonight though, seems to be tailing off as the season ends.
Three to go.
Chris Sutton and Beechgrove McCoist can't find a good word to say about the Dons on BTSport, both look like they are sooking on lemons.
Also just noticed they have a green and a blue mic cover respectively, subtle.
