Arguably the third hardest ground to go to and as I said before, I expected a loss so 1-1 isn’t bad. And bigger picture, still an excellent season and clear second. But definitely our wobble and some players look tired. Celtic will come up fresh, curious to what 11 we field. thought Mcgarry was really poor the first 15 mins and gave the ball away almost every time. He looked nervous but I do credit the guy, he didn’t hide. With a little more determination too could have had a goal. Certainly hope to god jack is fit for Wednesday. Thought McDonald and Malloy were decent, no real errors. Devlin looked gassed. First game I think we looked weak off the bench. Topi is off form and I don’t think he gave us a boost, whereas I do believe morris is a good sub to make and worries opponents. I don’t think we could bring on anyone who would significantly change the game. Duk is back to the duk I’m happy to see leave. i agree it really has to be clarkson or McGrath, I don’t think it ultimately works with both. With polvara coming back I think it allows us to play shinnie sivert and palaversa together too, with Dante the natural central midfield sub. While I think morris is better off the bench, if JT is going to start him, why not topi left? Seen a few highlights of him playing left before. But hopefully a position we recruit for. was a game where sokler got little, not sure miovski would have made a difference.

Pretty painful watch. Think we scored our only shot on goal. That’s three games in a row now we’ve been pretty shit, and it’s Celtic next. Expected to lose today, especially after seeing the line up, and we looked god awful first 5 mins. we looked tired for much of that, as did hearts, although they were still better and more energetic. thought duk was poor again, palaversa did little, and I agree, we need a left winger, that’s not McGrath. While the service was shite, another game we have no number 9. didnt hear half time, whats mitov’s injury? Also think devlin is pretty beat up and running himself into the ground.
-
OOft. Interesting line up. Obviously trust Jimmy but tough game to make these changes. On the positive side he’s placing a challenge on squad players, good for him to have faith, but we know what they are capable of…concerningly. time will tell….but I’m not a fan of this line up.

I know what I want but not sure it will happen. I think we need a win to get back on track, I’d start shinnie palaversa and sivert, McGrath left and topi right. Morris and duk make an impact coming on second half. Sokler starting up top. sadly, I think our bubble has burst, 2-2. Sokler and shinnie.

Any injury update??

That’s a good question. Did we ever play Jensen (for a run of games) in the middle left of a back 4? Molloy’s comfortable on the ball but weak in the air, rather inexperienced and gets caught out of position, ruby isn’t the quickest and loses the head at times, what does Jensen bring? I was a little surprised he went on loan without really getting to know and prove himself to JT. Would rather have a look at him than Macdonald.
-
Agreed, we stick with it and hope they develop, no point in bringing in Macdonald as he comes with his own flaws. Until we sign someone better it’s who we have, but it’s certainly a learning on the job experience for both which will have bumps in the road.
-
The last one I also look at ruby, comes up late to win the long ball and doesn’t get there - pretty sure ruby should have sat back and let sivert or other mids win it. I’m really concerned about high balls down the middle, Malloy isn’t good in the air and ruby ‘a decision making is shaky.

Big time. My dad is here visiting and we watched the game, we discussed that and I said all season it’s been pish. Man to man and do your job

That’s two shit games now, said it many times, teams haven’t punished our mistakes during our run, now they are. Arguably the two easiest of a tough four game run, on the last two performances could be 1 point from 12 after Celtic at home and very close to the Huns. central defense is a growing concern, plus another game nisbet is crap. Topi poor again too. Clarkson is off form. Mitov not looking so impressive now either. got to fight through this, hearts away will be tough but need a win! Obviously a great season to date, hope we can stop the wobble.

We were shit. Didn’t deserve it.

Is he good enough? The Dundee boy is a bench warmer and why would they want McGrath other than he’d be free and one to sit beside mccowan? He’s been good for us but in their eyes Celtic are a step above us. I’d argue miovski made the right move than ‘settling’ for Celtic but I don’t see McGrath as that level. He’d struggle to start and I think he’d want to be more than just a squad player.
-
So what’s the deal with his new contract? Is the sell on still in effect or do we lose that?
-
Didn’t see a great deal of the game but here’s my 4 takeaways - st mirren were the better team. We’ve had games where our opponents have been better in periods but have missed chances and we’ve won. We were due this game. was this a game we start shinnie palaversa and sivert? More muscle/graft? Something for JT to consider this Scottish winter. how many goals have we lost this year where our central defender(s) are to blame? Haven’t seen the first goal again but another situation where Molloy doesn’t win a header? We play in a league with plenty of long ball down the middle, an area Molloy has shown clear weakness. I know he’s done well and is young, but neither he nor ruby are consistently good. Central defense is our weak area in our team. while I say central defense is our weak area, it’s a tough choice between that and the 9. Through nisbet and sokler offered very little. We need a new 9. Maybe harsh on nisbet as he looked fit and sharp the other week, but we saw so litttle from either center forward yesterday. With nisbet only a loaner I certainly hope/expect we are looking.
-
To be fair to Morris he’s earned it, although I still feel he’s better off the bench. I also wonder if the conditions suit topi who has probably more experience in this type of climate, where as I assume morris will have his snowsuit on to play.

I’m meaning Scottish football in general, every game delayed and the challenge/safety of fans.
-
Sounds like a bit of a farce today, bit embarrassing for Scottish football in my opinion. The experts here yesterday said it may well be off, given the weather and forecast you shouldn’t have fans and teams fucking around on a day like this.
-
We are all zoom here in order to be compliant with the industry I work in, phone, video conference, and now even text.
-
So, what’s the scoop, any good? Sounds like he’s a goal scoring attacking central mid, something Scotland could do with? Would be nice for Scotland to have another wide player like doak, certainly need a 9, but sounds like miller isn’t far away from the squad?
-
Plus, if you lead with jimmy thelin being a major influence in your life it will be plain sailing from there.
-
Happy to help if I can, certainly not with the content of the interview, but on the tech side. I had over a dozen job interviews on zoom 2-3 years ago (had never done that before) and it was the tech that stressed me out more than the interview itself. Practice helps, especially with sound and camera on/off, so you are comfortable/confident.
-
Practice the technology so that you are able to attend a zoom meeting. I had to find a new job at 50 and it was the tech that was scary, not the content. Definitely look well dressed and presentable. You can also have a background filter so they cannot see your actual background. happy to have a zoom meeting with you to help you practice if that helps!

So doak was our best player against Croatia and there’s questions whether he starts tonight?? Explain!!! we need to win, preferably by two, we should be playing our best 11 for this game. Unless he’s injured why wouldn’t he start? Youthful energy and enthusiasm is a good thing, no?
-
I suppose it’s appropriate to acknowledge that 3 of the 4 teams are playing for something so not just us. I could totally see Croatia drawing or beating Portugal. Portugal may even experiment with players. as for us, we always fail in games like this, plus Poland are playing for something. The norm would be that we are 2 down at half time again and get a 2-2, piling forward for the win and we’re plucky losers yet again. would love to see a good win, win by 2 and Portugal win, but I just dont see it. We don’t have fresh players to bring in and two hard games on 3 days is a tough ask. I do t care that they have a few players out, despite what I said above I’m predicting 1-1.

I assume to be appropriate it will be ‘Do they/them know it’s the holidays?’
