Rangers two down in the first half. As shit as our form is, win today and back into 2nd?? Wouldn’t be surprised if rangers still win, certainly hope not. Fired up for this one, hope the team is too!! Really hope the central 3 is sivert palaversa with shinnie ahead of them.

Hard to pick a team, lots of reasons to leave people out. I think JT is certainly learning what his players can and cannot too, and it’s times like this where you really learn what you have. Looking forward to the window and some new blood coming in. mitov - devlin-ruby-molloy-mackenzie thats our best 5, provided devlin is fit. Mackenzie was our best player a short time ago, mcgarry just isn’t good enough to replace him. Macdonald doesn’t improve us and for ruby and Molloy’s flaws, they are our best 2. topi on the right and McGrath on the left, our best two for attacking and defending. Vinnie would have been left if fit. Not sure why we haven’t seen Morris much of late but I’d give him 45 mins unless both topi and Jamie are playing well. I’d prefer we left duk in Aberdeen, not a fan at all, but bring him on in the second half if needed. In the middle id go for palaversa shinnie and sivert, give shinnie the more advanced role. Haven’t seen the three together yet, worth the try. I’d play shinnie every week when fit and suspension free, but work the other two and give polvara 45 mins. Sokler up top and nisbet when he’s gassed. not sure why but I say 2-1 us. Shinnie and sokler.

Merry Xmas to you all from Florida! A bit delayed here, my boys were up at 1 am FFS!! Managed to get them back to sleep by 3 and up again at 6! Sadly, it’s not like the Christmas’ I remember, nobody got an Aberdeen top, no mitre moldmaster, no subbuteo, but it was a good day!

Our numbers 9 and 10 are so key to how we play, getting them on the ball sucks in defenders and gives the wide players time to push up, and space. I agree with whoever said it, clarkson isn’t the same player he was when on loan, but at the same time, multiple managers and playing multiple different positions and roles haven’t helped a young player (never mind any player.) McGrath has crumbled since he missed the penalty, plus I can only assume him playing more than he has earned of late has to do with convincing him to sign a new contract? Intimately, it’s one or the other at 10. our 9 is a mess right just. Sokler has had the most time and failed to lock in the position, nisbet rarely looks fit and mobile, I prefer duk to have stayed away, and Ambrose, possibly, and saying this sincerely, the worst player I’ve seen play for us. The endless chopping and changing at 9 hurts the team and the players. This has to be a must sign in January.

So has Sivert been found out what he can/can’t do? Not the dominating/influential player we saw early season. Means shinnie has to do more of what he doesn’t want to do, and his performances have dropped, and we’re seeing more of palaversa and he hasn’t set high standards. are we adding a center mid to our January shopping list??
-
When we dominated in center mid early season the other players around sivert and shinnie thrived. Sivert has been poor in recent weeks which affects Shinnie and palaversa has failed to improve us when he comes in. I’m assuming other teams learned that Sivert makes us click and he’s being given less time and space and pressured into mistakes. I also see shinnie and Sivert show a lot less for a short pass, and we’re losing our style of play. A lot more aimless long ball today, and in recent weeks, we’re rarely seeing us hit the forward, a layoff, and a fast attack/counter. We’re now relying on a team of players who are average, with confidence are good and lacking confidence you get shit and a result like today. As mentioned, it’s a long term project and many of our squad are hit/miss. Certainly the first part of the season showed we have some ability, but long term if performance can’t be maintained then they aren’t good enough, which brings us back to the squad overhaul we discussed in the summer.
-
Our collapse in the last month is unbelievable. We have zero confidence now and it shows. I see killie scoring more. Shocking display. duk up top is no better than Ambrose.
-
Last couple of games we haven’t subbed at half time when we should have done. Now we’re pretty much fucked.
-
Shocking goal to lose, we have 7 players in the box and they have one.
-
Ambrose has proven he doesn’t belong. Didn’t grudge the start given the options are poor but yet again he proves he doesn’t belong. Duk and McGrath have done nothing, would like to see Morris, clarkson, and sokler asap.
-
Not arguing the gash comment, but when has he started? Definitely not the answer, but neither are sokler or nisbet,, or duk.
-
1 down and deservedly so. All killie. Brutal stuff, zero passes and just killie attacking.
-
I look at this as JT knows what sokler and nisbet can do, or can’t, Ambrose has never started. Why not take a look before spending money? I think we all believe Ambrose isn’t good enough but why not give it a try. JT sees us as a long term project that he’s giving the guy a chance. now, shaky lineup, don’t think duk has done anything to show he can play 90 mins, and getting increasingly concerned that we keep changing the 11. Will be an interesting watch.
-
McGrath was fine on the left and playing well at the start of the season. Things changed when duk came back and he’s been played left then middle, right, plus injured, also hasn’t been the same since he missed his penalty. Seems to have lost confidence, much like a few others. id prefer we went back to McGrath left and topi right, how the season and our good run came about. Long term we sign a left mid/winger but going back to what brought us success is the solution to me. as has been said too, I think we stick w sokler and see if he finds form. Given nisbet hasn’t become a permanent starter I assume it’s because he’s not seen as good enough. think we stick w ruby, he seems a confidence guy and dropping him at present may not be the answer, since JT doesn’t seem to rate Macdonald, why rotate. Also think we may see polvara at right back in the coming weeks. back to killie. They are ok at the moment and play on a shit pitch. 1-1, sokler.
-
Agreed, but I don’t think January is an easy window and we have other priorities. We’re thin on depth that why not take a look at Jensen? A lot has been made of gueye and Morris under JT, why not see how Jensen responds?
-
Agreed but ‘free’ and a position we need, cover and competition for Mackenzie and molloy.
-
Agree with you jute, but given how we are dropping points, the term essential is what I’d use over priority. Delvin gimpy again yesterday, I worry he gets a long term injury. RB needed, preferably on who can play LB, although a mckimmie who can play anywhere at the back would be nice! thinking long term, as well as an experienced CB I’d also like Jensen recalled and looked at/given minutes. The fact we rarely see McDonald when that middle pair continue to gift goals says a lot, and we need options for Molloy and ruby. Plus Jensen can play LB too. stunned we chose Ambrose over ex hibee nisbet yesterday. Has to be a kick in the stones for nisbet and I hope he’s sent back to milwall. Get a legit forward in. When gueye is fit he’s not a 9 either so not the solution. Plus he’s not really a winger despite playing there, and we need another of those. Don’t mind that there’s no rumors of interest as we keep things tight, but that’s boring. Any links out there?
-
Agree, Morris did virtually nothing but had little time to do much and by that time it was total shit anyway. Expected to see Morris and Macdonald at half time.
-
Don’t think mitov would have made any difference today. When your defense is poor it’s tough for a team to be attack minded when you fear errors. Our central defensive pair are clearly our weak link and most goals conceded involves them. While I don’t think we were scared to attack, I do feel errors and mistakes at the back is in our head now. You’ve even seen mitov nervy pre injury. Ruby is accident prone and struggles as we saw today, mistake and he lost focus. As I’ve said before, Molloy is error prone too but he’s poor in the air and that’s something a central defender in our league needs to be strong at. Both are back ups and we’re starting to see consistent mistakes, something that position really cannot afford. First game I’d question our subbing. Morris is our super sub, why not include him at half time and McGrath was awful first half. We then hook clarkson who was much better than McGrath. We then play Ambrose which is like playing with 10.
-
Absolute garbage today. All good until the first goal fuck up then total shit.
-
Peter Ambrose. Game is ours now…
-
All season it’s been central defense. Agree angus for ruby. Earlier in the season our mistakes weren’t being punished, now they are.
-
Morris for McGrath at ht, don’t think Jamie has touched the ball.
-
All too familiar central defensive blunder ffs.
