  1. Two up, nice McGrath chip. If we kick on we score a few.
  2. One up, devlin I think, but watching on my phone with this footage, it’s poor coverage, one camera from the half way line???
  3. Yeah, 20 gone and a shit 20. Even game maybe being slightly bias. They’ve had better chances.
  4. Was thinking that too, McGrath was left mid last week and I’d said before Vinny is a better 10 than winger. Expect to see them in both today.
  5. I’d speculate sivert may have moving day? Very quick turn around for the guy to sign play move etc. I like the idea of a competitive look at players but that’s two in a row for Morris. Surely signing a right winger is priority, plus give Morris the competition to want to work harder and improve.
  6. While I agree with you it’s also in our best interest to sell him asap. Who do we start tomorrow? I’d assume sokler, does bojan even play? It almost becomes a distraction. Or do you play bojan and show case him? Then sokler is benched which doesn’t benefit us, both regarding form and attitude, and what if miovski gets injured? It’s a tightrope spud.
  7. Since Morelos was worth 20m I don’t think 25m for bojan is unreasonable.
  8. Heavily reliant on pace but limited in all other areas. Pace is such a huge advantage but they don’t have other qualities to truly take advantage. I think that’s a fair comparison/comment.
  9. England go for Clarke and we pick up klopp?
  10. The new away top arrived today, big fan, nice shirt!! As seebass said, bit of a Vitesse look but I do like when we go the alternative route with the away and 3rd kit rather than the simple white shirt. I know money talks but I’d be inclined to keep the same home kit for 2-3 years and vary the away yearly.
  11. I’m not saying Darren mackie was shite, but I’d say he’s more shayden morris than ester sokler. In my lifetime as a dons fan we’ve had some pretty excellent forwards, then we’ve had Leon mike. I’d say mackie’s one of the weaker ones, whereas I’m more optimistic about sokler. Mackie played a stunning 300 plus games for us so he couldn’t have been awful, but he played at a time in which we had poor players and poor teams, and us dons fans regularly suffered, finishing seasons 7th, 8th, 9th twice, 10th, and 11th. different topic. We all know where duk is, what’s the deal with habib pape gueye? Think he’s still on loan, wouldn’t we have had him back for preseason if we thought he was in our plans??
  12. Always delighted when England lose, the bigger the stage the better. Especially nice to rub it in to my English mates reminding them we beat Spain not that long ago. Was worried when they won on penalties that this was their year. Tragedy avoided for another two years.
  13. Not saying he’s miovski level, but maybe he is, there’s a player there and time will tell. Touch, pace, movement, good in the air, and a goal scorer. Miovski is class but ester has a lot to offer. We saw glimpses last year but due to miovski’s form we rarely saw him, and rightly so. Plus , when he did get his chances, it was limited minutes mostly on a pish team. To compare to Darren Jackie is mental. I’d compare shayden Morris to mackie. Sokler has good skill, while perhaps not at the shinnie goal yesterday, but you look at his second midweek for example, lovely touch and finesse finish. After seeing Ambrose yesterday I think sokler leads the line this season and I’m good with that.
  14. At the back it’s two young boys learning their trade, good to have the experience of McDonald (and Jensen) to help. Hope we give them time to develop, individually and together. It’s the opposite in midfield, two seasoned campaigners, would be good to have a third younger option, maybe jack milne if we can’t sign allan Campbell! But decent depth and if the young boys are given time and patience they could turn out well.
  15. I think we’ll see a difference in central defense with a consistent sivert and shinnie infront of them. Bit tougher, experienced, and defensive minded, which will certainly protect them a bit more.
  16. Dr Ruth and Richard Simmons today
  17. Anyone actually commented on shinnie’s goal? Thought we’d signed Messi!
  18. Think today showed we are 3 players short in the squad. keepers are sorted. Thought Milne looked decent when he came on today that he (and Richardson?) hopefully push devlin. Mackenzie is our left back, Mcgarry backs him up, plus Jensen. central defense its two from ruby, malloy, McDonald, and jensen. center mid I love having two grafters, shinnie and Nilson could be a good pair. But with age, physicality, bookings/suspensions, plus sheer volume of games, I’d want one more here. Allan campbell please. Polvara is injured and while he found form, I’m still not convinced he’s an spl player. I’m also not sure what type of player he is? He’s not graft, he’s not flair, he’s not an enforcer??? We need a right mid, Morris can back him up. we need a legit left mid to compete with McGrath. I still see McGrath as a 10 and not wide. Duncan can play wide too, sell Vinny. 10 is free roaming clarkson, McGrath in there as back up too, plus Boyd. up top it’s sokler, Ambrose, and bavidge. Sell miovski and duk.
  19. I’d agree with you re Vinny and the cammy smith comparison, but he had a successful loan last year, first game I thought he’d at least get a run at some point. I think it’s an attitude issue too, I don’t think he’s a high work rate/high press type of guy. Wonder if JT already sees that. I think McGrath is a proven quality for us, second half would have given him a good look at Vinny, if JT needed it.
  20. I’m quietly confident sokler is a good miovski replacement and will be a 20 goals per season striker. I think Ambrose, like duk did, is coming in during the summer unfit, didn’t get the benefit of Portugal, and once he gets fit and match sharp I think he’s the alternative look up top we badly have missed.
  21. Purposeful preseason game, competitive and we showed quality at times. Good to give 18 players a run, a shutout, and repeating what I said at half time, lots of mistakes but QOS were very weak. We did miss chances, could have had a penalty, score could have been more. with each game we’ll get sharper. Nielson off the pace at times and sloppy but hopefully he gets up to speed, Ambrose didn’t go to Portugal, hopefully he just needs sharpness. Not sure of Molloy. I will say the pitch is a factor, good to see them a week sharper and on grass. enough positives but 2-3 players still need to be added to the squad. A little surprised Vinny didn’t get a run, something to read into there?
  22. Hmm. In true Aberdeen fashion of late, do we lose the next goal and really struggle in the second half, losing all the positivity from the first half. Would love to get a quick 4th and freshen things up.
  23. Being realistic, QOS are weak. But very positive signs so far. Lots of little mistakes but it’s still only our second ‘preseason’ game. Sivert has made mistakes but he’s still very new, but a leader who wants the ball. Definitely takes the pressure off shinnie. Molloy not fully convincing but he’s young, new, and it’s preseason. Give sokler 15 mins to get the hat trick then let’s see Ambrose. Would also like to see Vinny and Boyd get a good 30 mins.
  24. Sexy football. Who is this morris fellow too, not too bad so far??
