  1. Very even game. We’ve been meh so far. Miss sivert in the middle and mcgrath’s creativity. easy to blame sokler but he hasn’t done much, nisbet will replace him sooner than later. Also expect the usual Morris topi sub. Would prefer Vinny on the left, maybe duk at 10??
  2. Molloy. Again. Ffs. Thank you Mitov.
  3. No sivert or McGrath. Don’t mind palaversa getting a start, opportunity for him and the reason we have 3 for 2 there. Sivert injured/suspended?? McGrath out for a month??
  4. Her campaign was pretty much bash trump and try to scare people. She was asked a number of times what she would have done differently in the last 4 years and she stated she really wouldn’t have done anything differently which stunned many normal people who have really struggled with the last 4 years. Her messaging was that it would be more of the same. And that wasn’t what the majority of public needed or wanted. late in her campaign the friction between her and Biden became apparent and she started to distance herself but it was too late. She tried to talk policies but could not get out messaging that people needed or wanted to hear. The fact she didn’t do press conferences, unscripted interviews, or generally talk like a normal person hurt her big time. the dems in general are heading in the wrong direction to most here which is why I don’t believe any other dem candidate would be much different. Why a number of dems who dislike trump sided with and or voted trump. I think the number of people who voted dem is down, and they didn’t all vote trump or another candidate, they just couldn’t vote for more of the same. Post election the media have been asking if the dems will reflect and change their agenda to matters that the majority of the public are concerned about, the main three being economy, immigration, and crime. All three the dems have damaged. Back to Kamala, she scared the shit out of people with the way she ran things in California, and San Fran’s decline is partly her responsibility. Drugs, crime, homelessness, way up in what was a stunning city. Businesses are leaving San Fran and California because it has gone to shit. Lastly, when people saw things like her being interviewed saying she would be putting parents of truant children in jail for example, it became more apparent she is more of a radical left and people can accept.
  5. Really hoping for clarkson starting and him getting back to normal, McGrath left. Think we are a better passing team with both, duk’s very individual and hard to predict, even for his team mates. If McGrath is out I wouldn’t mind Vinny getting the start. as mentioned, we’re due a game to click and smash someone, at the same time, given last week any win is acceptable!
  6. For the most part I dont see it as a slagging match although it’s what I’ve been used to over here for years. For that reason I’m just really explaining my side but won’t get into the deeper convo of guns, abortion, immigration , the economy etc. You get extreme views from both sides, and it’s obviously a very passionate topic. i do factor in where people live and do feel that if you don’t live here you dont fully understand what is happening. For that reason I will ask where you are getting your info and how much you’ve heard. If you watch fox or cnn here you hear about two very different countries, and both sides are extremely guilty of exaggerating, partial truths, and lies. id say it’s even like rangers fans across the world who have never lived in scotland or even Britain.. Don’t think they realize what rangers really are. A lot of good happened under trump’s previous presidency which does not get publicized or talked about. You can point to things people didn’t like but that’s every government and leadership. As I repeatedly say, the democratic media machine has been awful over the last 4 years. Plenty of people also spout shite because they are simply negative and like to complain. We take it seriously and actually did something about it, quitting jobs, lives, selling up and starting from scratch 2200 miles away. Don’t think many people would do that and actually do something to make their lives better. my wife and I dont particularly like trump but having lived over here through his presidency and then biden’s, we cannot believe anyone would vote for the dems. I know people feel that way about trump and us. We truly feel the last 4 years have really hurt this country and the world, and we were terrified of another 4 years of this, especially the open border and the bussing/flying of all the illegal immigrants to republican states. The cost of living has gone nuts, we’re middle class, but it’s a real squeeze now. Not only did we move across country, I had to stop being a teacher/educator. Went to moray house in Edinburgh and have been in schools since 1994, but life is so expensive now that I couldn’t afford to stay in that profession so had to find a whole new career at age 50, fuck!. The fact that education has gone to shit made it easier to leave and look for something else, but financially, the economy and what has happened under the dems forced me out of education. i know I’m in the severe minority here but I don’t see trump and Vance as bad as others. Trump is an awful speaker but is often misquoted and lied about. While he can put through executive orders, there’s also a process as you all know and I don’t see him scrapping democracy, this being the last ever election, him being a modern hitler, banning abortion, him starting world war 3, him scrapping the constitution and staying on past another 4 years. I do see him focusing on finance because we send billions overseas when we are is so much debt plus we need to fix things domestically. He will make significant change in government leadership here, like he did 4 years ago. He’s a businessman and fired a lot of underperforming career politicians. Both the dems and republicans have their corrupt pocket lining politicians who don’t do much and they are terrified of trump.
  7. Especially all of the body language in the interview. I know he’s a bit of an awkward guy and not overly comfortable being interviewed, but it certainly suggested he’s not staying despite his love for the club.
  8. When were you last there???
  9. And he signs for the Huns next week! would be tremendous to get him to sign on again, been a huge player for us this season, and more. Money talks though and I’m sure he’ll get offers.
  10. To each their own, we all have our viewpoints and as I said before, I’m not really here to debate, but happy to give you my take as a Scottish cunt in America. I’ve heard Vance a bunch, including informally on Rogan where you get to know him a little more given it’s 3 hours, and I find him intriguing. Having lived here for 29 years I also understand more about belief systems here, perception of race , social justice, crime and guns for example, and the relationship to other factors. In the VP debate I found Vance more diplomatic, eloquent, open minded, and willing to work with dems. But certainly strong opinions in certain areas. Could be total bullshit but he has plenty of people intrigued. He also explained why he’s changed his mind on things as he grows and learns more, including not initially supporting trump in 2016. I don’t see that as changing his spots, more being mature and humble enough to acknowledge when he’s wrong or now sees matters differently. Now if he changes opinion every year that’s certainly different. After being called a cunt along with 70 million others, I expressed why I voted, and why many others did. I can’t speak to Britain and how they do things there, I can only relate to my experiences here over the last 29 years, it’s a fucked up place as I’ve said before, but the world is pretty fucked up in general at the moment, and I do think the last 4 years of US govt has made it worse. Living in California versus Florida is very different and governed very differently, like different countries altogether. Plenty of people talk about civil war or can the US split up, a factor in the gun debate. I can relate to that first hand from my Covid experience in California. Florida is certainly a happier, more peaceful, and safer place and that’s what I wanted for my kids growing up. Nowhere is perfect but in the media Florida and desantis were called nazis extremists racists and fascists, and the filth spewed about Florida from some news channels in recent months/year was awful. The comments I got when I told people I was moving here were crazy. No clue what you hear in Britain, but what I hear in most American media is not the Florida I experience. no clue what you or anyone here knows about the US but I believe you dont get the real picture. Discussed this with my family a lot who all live in England now. The majority of media here is democratic perspective as I’ve said, and has slammed trump and republicans endlessly, rightly or wrongly, some truths and some flat out lies. it’s amazing the lies spouted and as I said in regard to global warming and EVs, it’s really what you hear and what you buy into. Very hard to know what his true there days. Abortion is a good example since you referenced it. I think Kamala said flat out this week pre election that trump would ban abortion. Trump has said it’s each states decision to make. Said that multiple times. He softened his stance, not changing his spots, just listening to people I think. Washington DC for example allows abortion at any stage of pregnancy for anyone of any age without parental consent. Some people think that’s wrong. Abortion isn’t getting banned here but each state will and have determined what they allow. I don’t see that as men telling women what to do, plenty of opinionated and passionate women out there!
  11. Have you listened to him talk about that stuff? Or listened to him talk in detail/at length?
  12. Looking forward to this and expect us to be up for the game and motivated to bounce back in style! think we need to bench Morris (coming in second half as normal) and duk, neither are consistent enough to play 90 mins and I even think duk hurts us because he’s not really a team player and doesn’t help us play better as a team. He’s effective when opponents are tired, carrying bookings etc. 3-1 us. Sokler shinnie McGrath
  13. I’ll see if I can find this. It’s not the emissions produced by the EV, it’s the whole package including emissions produced in full production of the EV which includes the mining and production of the battery.
  14. To me it’s just who you buy into. And are we doing what’s right, or just what makes people money? Do they care about the environment? /global warming? I personally don’t think so. I don’t think those in power give two shits about you or your family. Take the issue with gas/oil here. The dems want to ban gas cars and shut down certain oil production. California has implemented laws that you can no longer buy gas cars by a certain date. I own an electric car and my house is fully solar. Going through this process I’ve learned the challenges of lithium batteries and the challenges with solar panels. Both require gas to produce and both are very difficult to dispose of. So are they better for the environment? Not to get too technical, but I read somewhere that it takes more oil to produce a fully functioning EV than to run a gas car for the average number of years you keep a gas powered car. We had an EV summit here last year and all the big wigs from all car companies were invited to Washington for a big brain meeting. Elon Musk was not invited. Are we doing what’s right for the environment or what lines pockets?
  15. I’m not here to debate, to each their own. People asked and I explained why. I do think dems are much more dangerous than republicans, and I do believe the left is much more radical. Having worked in LA and private education, I’ve seen this since Obama. Just my experience. I probably was a dem until Obama and then things started to get weird. the republicans have connected with normal people, middle of the road, people like me. Dems are the elite, big tech, big pharma, media, celebs, and Hollywood. They don’t relate to me and much of the country. This election was as much, if not more, a huge fuck you to the dems and their beliefs, than a vote for trump. unless you live here and try to watch multiple media outlets, I’ll take your opinion with a pinch of salt. The lies and deceit on news networks is awful. So many are misled, I try to be open minded and listen to various viewpoints and networks, but I have selfishly, in my opinion, done what’s best for me and my family. will be interesting if republicans control the White House, senate, and house. Yes, people will say that’s dangerous but I feel despite this domination/imbalance, I think good things will get done. immigration, I came here at 22 from Scotland with nothing. I believe in the American dream. I’ve had visas, green cards, now citizenship, there’s a process in place to help keep people safe. I agree with that. There are always exceptions but they are just that. Dems agenda for immigration is scary. in LA I paid a shit ton in taxes, including to the homeless and illegals who, in my opinion, have more of a negative than positive impact on society at present. There needs to be structures and processes in place to turn those around. I was then evicted from California for not taking drugs. My body my choice, no? I came to Florida at a time where many wouldnt hire unvaccinated and many states required kids to be covid vaccinated to go to school. We became ’homeless,’ scary!! I sold everything, packed my car with essentials including a wife, 2 kids, and 2 dogs, and drove 2200 miles. Florida and desantis welcomed us with open arms and I’m forever grateful for that. I’ll never agree with everything desantis or any politician says, but we love it here. We are free and normal! when Vance was announced as VP he was slammed, weird, extremist, and tons of misinformation were put out. I’ve listened to him a bunch in many interviews and he sounds ok to me. Time will tell. If any of you ever visit Orlando I’d love to buy you a beer! now, more concerning, are we starting topi or morris, and will we bounce back against Dundee!
  16. Love to hear more about Vance. What’s your concerns that makes for suck a strong dislike?
  17. Can you elaborate on de santis?
  18. Trump is far from a good candidate but picking the party and policy was my choice. I referenced JD Vance above, dont know if anyone saw the VP debate or have seen him speak. Even have a little watch of him with Joe Rogan, seems a normal guy! He’s legit, plus seems compromising, willing to work with dems, and diplomatic. Would love to see a politician the whole country can get behind. Won’t happen but he’d be a good place to start.
  19. You can only do 8 years so he has 4 left. The person to watch is JD Vance, the VP. He has been tremendously impressive over the last few months, incredibly smart, eloquent, calm, and a real find for the republicans. Funny, charming, and has interviewed extremely well. I expect they’ll have learned that when you do nothing for 3 1/2 years it’s hard to become president. I expect Vance to be very involved and out front as VP, and the next presidential candidate after trump. get trump for 4 then Vance for 8 will be the republicans plan.
  20. Yup, I am one of the 72 million cunts so far who voted republican. I voted against democratic policy and for ‘normal’ more than I did for trump. I am not an uneducated idiot extremist racist nazi as you’ve heard on most media outlets here for months. I can only comment from my experiences living here. I will add though, having been home in September and talking to my family, it’s amazing the amount of misinformation/bullshit I heard from them regarding the US. The media here is primarily democrat owned and pumps out news opinion/propaganda. Only Fox News gives you republican perspective, not saying they are innocent, but we don’t have fair and impartial news here. I guarantee the news you get over there from US is certainly one sided and not overly truthful. From 2016-2020 I didn’t pay that much attention to politics and life seemed good. I was financially secure and could afford a house and a mortgage. I lived in LA, expensive place, and heavily democratic. Each year things got more left, the homeless got worse, and I stopped enjoying living in California. I was a teacher, a very left leaning profession, and was required to attend the People of Color Conference every year where I learned wokism, DEI, and white guilt/privilege. Trump at the end of his term gained the joys of Covid. Under Biden I was fired from my six figure job for not getting vaccinated, my kids were kicked out of school because their parents weren’t submitting proof of vaccination. We didn’t have Covid ID cards so couldn’t go to shops, sports venues, and bars/restaurants for a significant period of time. The homeless tents and breaking bad RVs lined the streets (and I lived in Sherman oaks, a very nice area). There were used needles littering the streets, and most mornings I would find homeless people bathing and washing clothes in our pool. Crime increased significantly and I started only walking my dogs in certain places and before 10pm. All major cities here are democratically run here and are all going to shit, especially those in democratic states. You can easily read and see this info online. Democratic policy is killing this country so I moved to Florida for ‘freedom’ and a safe happy and healthy life for my children. My wife and I brought our kids here, we had no jobs, had to find a house, and start again. Life here is normal, people are normal. I do not see Florida as a state full of far right extremist fascists as I heard on MSNBC today. biden was a pawn. He didn’t run the country. Harris is another pawn. Neither did unscripted interviews or events and rarely spoke in public. Any democratic candidate would have been set up that way. It’s a machine. They campaigned on orange extremist fascist man is bad and he’s horrible. CNN today were crushed today and said that they should have said this more often. they didn’t say that people are struggling and hurting and simply wants a government to address inflation, crime, immigration etc. It’s so expensive here now, we complain about cost every day. Many of my friends cannot afford to buy houses, the costs here have sky rocketed. Energy costs a fortune. The country is in so much debt and sending endless funds abroad instead of fixing their own problems. The southern border is tragic. Crime is way up. In my opinion the democrats caused so many of these problems, it didn’t have to go this way. Under trump and the republicans life seemed so much better and that’s why he won, we want that back. So many feel this way, and many don’t particularly like trump. He’s not that popular, he admits that too. It’s a vote and statement on bad policy. We didn’t have the crime, border issues, housing crisis, inflation, trump was an America first guy. I’m ok with that, we have so many issues here we have to address. Re abortion, trump stated during his campaign many times that he’s giving abortion decisions to each state. He has also softened his stance on abortion and is not looking to take the rights of women away as you hear from certain media outlets. delighted with today and happy to be a cunt if that’s what this means. I truly believe this is the first step in heading back towards more common sense and normal, and this will have a positive effect outside of the US too in my opinion.
  21. trump would have beaten any democrat candidate because the country has gone ‘bad.’ That’s why you’ve seen republicans win the popular vote for the first time in 20 years. It’s a massive push back on policy and the direction of the country. Im not a trump fan but life has gone to shit under the democrats. You won’t get it unless you live here and have experienced first hand the change in the last 4 years. not going to talk a lot about this as you all blasted me about this 4 years ago when I said the democrats in power would be way worse than republicans and trump.
  22. Not at all. He won because the left is heading in the wrong direction. Immigration economy crime are massive issues. The country has gone to shit in the last 3 plus years (you could argue the world too.) so many campaigned that it was policy and party and not personality, trump himself repeatedly said you may not like me but the country is going in the wrong direction.
  23. I’ll take your jimmy mcgarry and raise you Chris forrester! Actually got me thinking about loanees we’ve brought in mid season. Certainly want Mackenzie to sign the new contract but would take Max Lowe back in a heartbeat. At Sheffield Wednesday presently but can’t tell if he’s a regular starter. Plus Barry Bannan is club captain there so it can’t be that high a level!
  24. Let’s end this. I’m not looking for a back up left back. I just gave you reasons why I felt if a full back was a priority it should be left over right. Didn’t get why you felt right back should be our main issue. In an ideal world we sign a player who can play both.
  25. You’re losing track of the initial point. You said a right back is a priority, I said left back is more of a priority than right. But neither are my priority. Our right back is the only Aberdeen player in the Scotland squad and having an excellent season. Just signed a new contract too. His back up is a young up and comer, a u21 internationalist. While not a perfect right back, a good and flexible/adaptable back up. As you say, a second top player as back up would be nice but Milne is fine for now. our left back has not signed a new contract and his back up is, so far from what we’ve seen, weaker than the right back second option and barely gets played. I think our left side should be a priority over right, but, as I said, a new 9 would be my priority.
