  1. 4-2-3-1 with McGrath on the left? 4-3-3 with clarkson between nilsen and shinnie?? we shall see…..good opportunity for sokler to make a statement.
  2. Going to answer my own post, I think he’s worth considering, especially with polvara injured, and, from what I’m reading, shinnie and nilsen have suspensions to serve?? Got to hit the ground running this season, a spotty start to the league cup will be far from helpful.
  3. I fully expect width to come from Morris and Vinny, think Morris got an assist on at least one of the goals against peterhead? im saying 3-1 us, sokler clarkson McGrath. while quiet here of late, very excited to see how we perform under JT and looking forward to the new season. No pressure of immediate European games helps the manager get settled IMHO, and while it’s not friendlies, the league cup is good prep for a new manager as he brings in players to build a team for the league. Really like his interviews, comes across as experienced and intelligent, and not the typical comments of a Scottish manager. Haven’t heard him say are you with me yet, but I’ll give him time.
  4. If there are idiots out there who reportedly spent decent money on Jayden Richardson, Shayden Morris, and Pape Habib Gueye, someone must be willing to give us money for Duk!
  5. Valid point in that we have no clue how Thelin intends to play. At the same time, I love the idea of the 4-2-3-1 with two grafters in center mid, and three attacking flair players behind a forward. That’s what I saw/thought when we saw the lineup vs peterhead. I can wait for wide players when we can give Morris, vinnie, and even McGrath and Duncan the opportunity there. When your two grafters are both 33 that may be a tough ask, adding Campbell isn’t such a bad idea, particularly when you consider the physicality of the league, injuries, and from what we hear, both shinnie and our new guy like the physicality and pick up cards/suspensions.
  6. I’d say we can get 500 to a million for duk. Still plenty of time to go in the window.
  7. Allan Campbell, ex Motherwell, been told he has no future at luton and can move on. Worth a look? We were linked with him before, plus something I like, he’s Scottish!
  8. I’d say he’s either a shinnie fitness freak or given all the talk about leadership a future coaching role?
  9. Nothing more on the Norwegian Roy Keane? Kind of expected to wake up to a new signing. And still no wingers, or is JT getting more out of Vinny and Morris and they’re like two new signings??
  10. Also at 6’1” bit more of a presence than shinnie Barron or clarkson. I do see age differently now, he’ll be 33 soon but we should get 2-3 years out of him. Shinnie is the fittest guy in the squad, and he’s older, hope this guy has a similar engine.
  11. Looks like Morris played. Thelin oot!!!!
  12. Anything….? rumors? Blatant lies? Where’s that Croat winger??
  13. Bought the away kit, nice top. Have a fair supply of home jerseys so it’s the away I get these days. That’s my season ticket. also keen to buy the northern lights top if anyone has an adult large in good condition!
  14. Plus we have that new manager bounce to factor in!
  15. It’s like the nations league, competitive friendlies rather than snoozefest. im good with it. We should be better, fitter, and sharper than any team we play regardless of friendlies to date.
  16. Absolute silence? Where the Croatian Rico promised us? Anyone more news on some tricky wingers? any info on Richardson, Morris, gueye, Vinny? Any outbound? when’s our first kick about? Any upcoming friendlies to tell us a little more of what JT has in mind?
  17. Replacement for duk? Not even considering duk, we need wingers. We have Morris, Duncan, and I think Vinny is still considered a winger, but none are starting level players for us. Or even good enough for us. get him signed! although, im sure Alan burrows is like Ronaldo and simply has millions of instagram followers.
  18. McCrorie was a good bit of business, any Huns worth taking off their hands? If they struggle for funds possible opportunity here?
  19. What did we get for Ferguson, anyone remember? Fair to say Barron is more established and closer to an internationalist so we should get more money?? Yes, I know, common sense will not apply.
  20. Four groups complete and only one third placed team with more than 3 points. Gutted, what a missed opportunity.
  21. Got very little interest in the euros but watched the highlights of Croatia Italy, fun seeing two attacking teams. That’s Croatia on 2 points, certain we’d have advanced with a win yesterday and won’t be surprised if Hungary advance with 3 points. Gutted that we played more or less 5 at the back the entire tournament. Awful attacking play with horrible tactics. What a missed opportunity.
  22. I’d say it’s a more accurate comparison looking at Scotland and last seasons dons. Comparing him to mcinnes, we aren’t there yet. Mcinnes was in decline for maybe 3 seasons before we punted him, I’d say for Clarke this is the first real time questions are being asked. I’d say Scotland have been in decline for maybe 12 months. clarke deserves to stay for now but we’ll learn a lot very quickly, two main things - does he stick with the 3 at the back that no longer works for us (like we say yesterday, we end up back 5 and don’t get numbers forward) is he overly loyal or will he bring in the new blood. you saw what happened when the dons finally changed it up, we changed formation, and surprise, it got better. Can Clarke and Scotland do the same?
  23. Would you take David Moyes??
  24. Shite is an understatement. We needed to win and did we even have a shot on goal? I don’t see Clarke being punted as he’s brought us credibility. However, we’ve stuttered and gone backwards in the last year and we close to if not embarrassed ourselves this tournament. I don’t want to be the pish team who tries hard and has great fans. Clarke has no plan B and we haven’t been a back 3 team for a while. Throw in some injuries and he couldn’t figure it out. We don’t create the entire tournament and deserve to go home. The shambolic last 15 mins today summed up the last year as far as im concerned, one win in twelve and that was Gibraltar. No clue why Hungary gave us so much respect but, then again, they had a championship/league one player starting in center mid, maybe they aren’t that good?? we have limited talent, and injuries showed just how thin we are, but that means we really need a creative manager with plan B, plan C etc… mcginn was awful this tournament, gave us nothing. Think mctominnay played three different roles in three games, asking a lot. Plus we cannot rely on tierney to be fit. think we have to rethink the approach for World Cup qualifying, plus figure out a role for Lewis Ferguson (eventually). Much like Aberdeen this season with the back 3 and wing backs, a real lack of width and wing play killed the creativity.
  25. What a disappointing game. Loyalty killed the creativity hence so few shots. Last 15 minutes with the subbing was embarrassing, we were all over the place. Looked like a fucking pup team, players all over the place, kick it long or dribble until lost, fuck knows the positions or formation. Shambolic finish.
