Fully expect Clarke to go 3 at the back, plus not saying mccrorie is better. I just think he has the better temperament, ralston looks terrified. Clarke is an overly loyal guy. Ralston will play. I went with Forrest because he’s on form and proven at international level. Armstrong was injured/not playing, but my honest preference is Morgan, but he plays on the left normally…..I think, and came from out of the blue to an extent.

Really want to see a change of formation tomorrow, due to the tierney injury plus ralston clearly a dear in the headlights this tournament. I just see mccrorie as a much more confident personality. I also think going to a 4-2-3-1 suits the majority of the players better. Don’t think Clarke is brave enough to make change but we’ll see . I’d also be inclined to bring in Forrest, doubt he’ll last 90 mins but he’s creative and can score goals, something we have to do. gunn mccrorie-Hanley-McKenna-robertson gilmour-macgregor forrest-mctominnay-mcginn adams

Disappointed and surprised to be honest. I thought perhaps him seeing Rama and Ferguson being successful in Italy he may have gone that route. I think that helps create better players, getting that euro experience. instead, he’s now a hated man who will get dogs abuse when we play them. If he plays. He’s a decent player but I foresee him similar to wright and being a bit part player.

Blah game, more heart but we still played with fear much of the time. I think we’re a better team than that but clearly lack confidence. We’re not a back 3 team any more, our three aren’t good enough, plus ralston at wing back a clear weak link. Saying that, thought Hanley had a decent game. Ralston looked terrified much of the night, surely we see McCrorie vs Hungary if we keep a back 3, as he’s a ballsy guy, confident, hard and tough. Tierney injury is an interesting one, might help his chances of going to Celtic. He’s clearly injury prone that I cannot see anyone paying big money or taking that risk, may result in him being affordable for Celtic. mcginn was hugely disappointing for most of the game, with tierney gone part of the whole 3 at the back was to play both tierney and Robertson. Wonder if we’ll see a back 4 v Hungary, and a 4-2-3-1. I think that will suit many of our players including mcginn. while Clarke said you don’t play for a draw, don’t think we played to win the game.

Interesting keeper signing, know very little about him and don’t think much when we played them and he’d been linked with us. At the same time, so many positives comments about this guy, everyone seems to rate him???
-
I said it when he played for us, I don’t think Vinny has the pace to be a legit winger. I saw him as a creative 10 or a second forward playing off a Peter Ambrose type. But we have McGrath to do that. jack would be interesting. Don’t care what happened in the past, but do care that we’d (let just say this is true) be overpaying for an older player who is injury prone. Credit to shinnie who stays fit, but we need a younger shinnie who can play week in week out, plus give shinnie a rest here and there. Hate to keep emphasizing but we need another Rama. Jack isn’t what we need.

Harsh on devlin, first half of the season he and miovski were our two top players, and he was very reliable. He had a slump around Robson leaving/warnock time, and made mistakes, but don’t forget he had some very good games. If we can sign another legit right back great, but devlin on his day is a good player, especially if those around him are solid. I failed on the squad list, not only did I miss Vinny, remember we have bavidge. If we are regularly playing two up top I’d keep bavidge and he’ll get minutes. If we’re playing one up top I’d like to see him back out on loan getting minutes.

Pains me to say it but Bellingham the best player in the world??
-
Squad to date (excluding youngters promoted to the first team) doohan richardson devlin ruby macdonald molloy jensen Mckenzie mcgarry morris mcgrath milne boyd polvara clarkson shinnie Duncan duk gueye miovski sokler ambrose 22 including miovski. Clearly lacking a goalkeeper, a right mid, two left mids, and a center mid, preferably two. Hoping we sell Morris and gueye, adding another right mid to this list. I also consider McGrath a center mid. I’m assuming miovski will be sold, and I know I’m in the minority but I’m willing to give Richardson the back up job behind devlin. Impossible to guess a first 11, is Thelin a three or four at the back guy???
-
Fuck that, we’re winning champions league!

Interesting interviews from the two new boys. Molloy a left central defender who has also played left back and center mid, says he’s a passing type who loves a tackle. Seems mature for his age, quite experienced playing first team, and leadership discussed. Talked about Ambrose above, keen to see him play. Have to assume that he’s not efe’s brother, would have surely had that referenced in the interview as a family member already having played in Scotland. didnt think much about either signing yesterday but quite intrigued by both now. Also interesting to hear the comments about the new manager, seems to have been busy.

Spent the last 20 mins watching highlights of Ambrose. Looks like he’s a 6ft/6’1 target man/#9, much like what I think we all thought gueye would be. Seems to have good touch, fast, and strong. Intriguing signing. as was commented, comes from the same league as miovski and Rama who both played for MTK. Bojan scored 15 in 56 games for them over two seasons, Ambrose with 9 in 31 games…..not sure of the stat accuracy. Both mtk and ujpest are mid/lower table teams. looks promising, especially hearing he was in demand.

If Barron has half a brain look at Ferguson, Rama, hickey, and Doig. And Ryan jack, Robertson, Wright etc., learn from them all and go abroad and develop. I also think his style of play is more suited to European football, he’s not the biggest, tallest, quickest, playing in a European league may be a better fit than the physical demands and pace of Scottish football. Plus, go to the Huns he’ll be hated, that has to be in the back of your mind surely. Every club has its idiots and he’d be a target every game.
-
Not sure at all as I only saw it mentioned once. We’d surely have seen it stated elsewhere given efe played in Scotland too…
-
Looks like Peter Ambrose is the younger brother of ex Celt and Hibbie efe ambrose. Not that it means anything!
-
The signs were there with the results we’ve had of late. We’re not a back 3 team now. We were good a year or two back with a fit and healthy Hanley and or cooper with hickey or Patterson at right wing back, we’re a different team now, have no reliable/solid middle back 3 defender, and Clarke didn’t plan for it or create a plan B. we have half a dozen or so players good enough for the championships here and the rest aren’t fit or good enough. Unfortunate that our better players all play the same positions. Getting pumped maybe plays to our advantage though, lowers expectation, teams underestimate us, and we come out more fired up in the next 2 to prove we’re not pish! the goal difference got fucked today too, I assume that affects the third placed finish for the 4 3rd placed teams advancing.

Utter garbage. And take the only forward off? Levein on the bench advising??
-
I know I’ll probably get push back here but close to logging out of afc updates on social media, Scotland updates, and bbc sport etc. I have no interest in women’s football yet it’s now coed sites where we get both men’s and women’s posts/updates. Why? They are very different sports. I now get so much shit on my facebook page that I’m soon walking away from these sites/pages. Can’t they have separate men’s and women’s pages to follow? Just because I like sport doesn’t mean I like all sport, and just because I like the dons doesn’t mean I want to follow every team…… am I wrong?

I wouldn’t hate bojan, a very likeable guy. Plus I think he knows the dislike we have for rangers. As mentioned, he has two years left, I doubt the huns or tims would be willing to pay 10M plus and I think that’s what we demand from them. Unless it’s 5m plus scales, ralston, Forrest, welsh, etc, a legit package deal. Not saying just these guys but a significant amount plus a couple of players, one being scales……although pretty sure we can’t afford their wages. I truly think he goes to a top European league, wouldn’t be surprised to see him follow Rama to Italy. Ferguson and Rama have been greatly successful over there, as did hickey, doig too, eyes from Italy watch the Scottish game.

I loved the sixes, particularly with our weather I wish we’d bring it back. Great way to play some of your experiences pros, squad players, and give youth a run. Players like Morris, and Richardson, as well as a back up keeper, would get a little pressure free play time! why not add something like this, it’s entertaining? We play too many games as it is, 16 team top league, play each other twice, and add the tenants sixes in January!
-
Never rated Joe miller at all. Jamie smith was far better in my eyes. I’d say Joe has more similarities to oor shayden!
-
I remember him and Paul wright being good in the tenants sixes. Plus he never aged, always looked 12….
-
Wright was a super player, according to Wikipedia he played 150 games and 5 seasons for us, didn’t realize it was that much. Also thought we had more than one season with wright and Robertson at full backs together, arguably the two best fullbacks in Scotland at the time. i was crushed when Robertson went to rangers, an Aberdeen lad who knew the hatred we had for rangers. I think wright was a bellshill lad and a rangers fan, a little different…..but not much! still dont see mason as a midfielder, especially not a central midfielder, he was a forward. Id be inclined to go with Seve and Peter Nicholas. Dont recall why he only played one season for us, but quality. Then again, he left us for Chelsea, not a bad move. Tough to ignore Lee Richardson, he didn’t get a fair deal up here, what I wouldn’t give for a player like him today.
-
Hayes in his prime over mcginn in his prime? Tough to split them!
-
Joe miller???? You been day drinking? to be fair it has to be players who never played for Ferguson.
