  1. Well, figure it’s close enough to start the thread and may get some more enthusiasm than the current season. So what do we need? manager - Alex Neill formation - 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 I’m going with the belief that we currently have 7 starters - Devlin, ruby (or gartenmann), Jensen, Mackenzie, shinnie, clarkson or McGrath, and sokler. 4 legit starter signings needed, plus more. I’d argue McGrath has been better than clarkson this year, but I dont think both together are our midfield solution. goalkeeper - NEEDED to replace Roos, doohan is back up right back - devlin, Richardson, SiGN gartenmann left back - think Mackenzie deserves to be our left back, one of our few successes this year, mcgarry as back up, jenson cover too as gartenmann does right back. central defense - ruby, gartenmann, Jensen, Macdonald - think that’s good enough, just need a legit and consistent keeper and midfield to protect and support them Right mid - TWO needed, starter and back up, vinnie as back up? sell morris left mid - ONE needed, possibly hoilett and mcgarry as back up, vinnie?? Don’t think Duncan is good enough, squad filler. center mid - sign TWO. ONE starter needed, plus assuming Barron leaves. Free agent Baccus? Shinnie clarkson or McGrath, and one other, mcgrath/clarkson and polvara as back up, sign another ONE physical/athletic worker so that shinnie and new signing aren’t run into the ground. Forward - assuming Miovski and duk are sold, I want sokler given a chance. SIGN one to compete with him to start, bavidge the third option and given minutes. Sell GUEYE. I’m assuming miovski, duk, morris, gueye, and Barron are gone, and we sign gartenmann and hoilett. Hayes retires. Mcgarry gets a summer to get fit and prove what he can do next year, been unfortunate to date. A bench from Richardson, mcgarry, Duncan, clarkson/mcgrath, hoilett, bavidge, doohan, Milne, polvara, vinnie, plus a new back up right mid and an enforcing center mid. Obviously Mikey Johnson is one of our new signings.
  2. That’s how I feel. I thought var was to highlight and correct clear and obvious errors yet it seems to examine to the extreme, looking for the slightest thing that nobody would catch in real time. There appeared no clear and obvious errors on the goals yet it took a fair time after every goal to get var seal of approval. Despise it more by the week. It’s not a good product and damaging the refereeing product, surely this isn’t a biased opinion??
  3. Miovski miss on the right foot but we don’t pass much at all so create so little. Roll on the summer assuming we’re not relegated. horrible watch.
  4. Endless long ball, fucking shit as usual.
  5. You just brightened up my day, didn’t notice!
  6. I can see duk totally effective in a salah right wing role (or left as he has been) , he has to be advanced and plenty of 1v1. Any time he comes deeper when he gets the ball it’s usually dribble and lose it. I’d say a 4-3-3 with him miovski and hoilett advanced. Think hoilett is a left winger? Time will tell!
  7. Last night was an interesting one. As someone who has coached for 30 years, and admittedly not at a professional level, you always believe when you take on a team you can benefit and teach players. Players get a clean slate and have the opportunity to prove themselves. I have to think that warnock believes he can get the best out of our players and while something may not have worked for a rookie manager like Robson, a seasoned pro like warnock believes he can do better. I think it showed last night that warnock doesn’t really know our players and obviously how can he really? He’s learning quickly that morris is shite for example. The reality is that he doesn’t have the time to experiment or we are sucked into a relegation battle and I suppose he has to trust the judgment of leven/Gunn who can tell him when and why we’ve been piss this season. It really is a crash course 4 month season for warnock and ever point matters. have to assume that last night was the end of a back 3?
  8. While I agree with the majority of what you say, you can’t hire a manager then tell him he can’t play players because they are shit. Or hire him and say he can’t play certain players in positions, or can’t play certain formations. Especially a guy with the experience of warnock. You have to give him professional respect and some sort of autonomy. Unless it’s a contract issue and a player is playing with the u18s or the likes (like McKenna at one point w forest), if the player is fit and training you kinda have to let the guy you hired to do the job do the job. He obviously saw things in training hence the lineup. Can you see leven, a young guy who has never been a manager, tell him what to do? Or Gunn? If you hire a manager you have to let him pick the side and formation. we clearly have holes in the squad so he improvised, it didn’t come off. I can’t fault him for that. At least he didn’t wait until the last 10 mins to make changes. I will fault him for the long ball shit, that doomed Robson and that’s something I hope we see less and less. The problem is obviously that every point counts, and it’s two more lost and warnock doesn’t have much time to experiment or learn from games. I’ve written off the season, think we’ll be lucky to make top 6. Don’t see us relegated and just want us to get whatever club assessment done and to get a new guy in. Our squad is really poor, roll on the summer.
  9. In all fairness, tell var to fuck off and it’s 4-4. Without var their 4th stands. Then again, miovski’s goal was initially called offside. There are still fouls, re the pull on gartenmann at the corner in the cup semi for example, that don’t get given. Var isn’t clearing up issues, it’s not reviewing them all, so the inconsistency and missed or wrong calls still exist. But we now, as I’ve said before, get var goals where they wouldn’t exist without var. Var is not helping at all and making things worse, including enjoyment. Can anyone say it’s made the game better?? How can you honestly and subjectively back it?
  10. Thing is, can you honestly tell where the defenders elbow is pointing? All depends on the angle you view from. It’s a farce, because I always thought clear and obvious were specific terms in the rule? regardless, fucking hate var, every game it’s a fucking issue.
  11. So what exactly is the offside rule? If it’s unclear advantage to the attacker? Or it has to be a clear and obvious error to change a decision. Didn’t see it but commentary said it was a good goal??!!
  12. Not watching. Started 3-5-2 before going the 4-2-3-1?? Or a normal 4-4-2??
  13. Thanks fuck morris started……
  14. Interesting lineup, possibly returning to a back 3? 5 center mids too! Shows the real lack of squad balance that we may have to do that. Will be interesting!!
  15. Fucking seriously. I heard he’s watching the Motherwell game from a local boozer with leven in the dug out on a walkie talkie.
  16. Really? Excellent job of us scouting miovski? So what happened with morris, Richardson, or dadia, markanday, Roberts, myslovic, gueye etc. and probably a few more…. For all we know our scouting could be sitting in a boozer talking to fans or playing championship manager. You hit on endless hot chicks and eventually one will say yes!! as for warnock adding to his value, I think there’s something there. He’s a very well known and well liked guy with tons of contacts/connections who may easily get a call about this miovski lad on his team. Alternatively, he may give some premiership buddy a call about bojan, you never know. Robson wasn’t in his league when it comes to the footballing fraternity.
  17. OrlandoDon

    Serie A

Ramadani vs Ferguson today, bologna two up in the first half. Neither have scored, not sure if Ferguson is captain, he was last week.
  18. Yup, pretty poor from us. Never thought we really got going and didn’t take a real grip of the game. Didnt create much either. speculating but it looked like warnock used the game to have a good look at players in competitive action rather than go on to get rhythm, confidence, and score a few more. But with 3 games this week and two important league games I suppose I get it. from what I saw morris again proved he’s not good enough and duk had an entire game against that level and still didn’t do much. Both have pace but really don’t effectively use it, and I’m getting really bored with duk’s dribbling. Polvara is a squad player who plays the odd good game, Duncan shows little yet again. With no real quality width and no dominating and driving center mid it won’t get much better any time soon.
  19. Not a great game and they are being allowed to do more than I’d like but cruising for the most part. Get a third and it’s done. Jensen goes backwards too much plus it’s still clear neither duk or polvara and a left winger. Duk does my head in, not a smart player and while he creates occasionally, I’d prefer a legit left mid or even sokler up top Instead of him.
  20. Hmmm. I’m assuming it’s trying to be a better team and not squad rotation? Roos dropped is understandable, gartenmann has a foot issue? Play duk and morris to give us width? Good central balance with shinnie polvara and clarkson? time will tell!
  21. Funny you say that, heard a couple of people compare warnock to McLeod. really keen to see us play well although until we have two wingers/wide mids our performances will be limited. Saying that, still shooting for 6-0 today!
  22. How would hiring leven have benefitted us long term? getting pretty irritated by the constant moaning ffs. He’s not our permanent manager. Who would have been a good permanent managerial signing right now? Every single name out there has pros and cons. Lennon? Lambert? Ross? Or maybe kettlebell? Martindale? Robinson is doing a decent job. We missed out on Levein unfortunately but Derek Adam’s is available. Or maybe we go the foreign route with a guy with little or no Scottish football knowledge/experience? Would have hiring a permanent manager guaranteed us 3rd? 4th? After failing with the last 3 managers taking our time to look at this is ok with me. how exactly does warnock hurt us right now? What is the damage he is doing? What is he stopping us doing? Maybe can learn something from warnock? Maybe cormack will benefit from the insight of an incredibly experienced professional who has seen more than just Scottish football? im not really a warnock fan but having failed on the managerial front for the last 3, I’m ok with us taking a different approach, especially as ill keep saying, there are no clear standout popular choices to hire or desperate to come to us.
  23. 6-0 us, miovski hat trick, clarkson, shinnie, and duk. We’re due a good game!!!
  24. Interesting comments post game from Warnock about Miovski scoring 30 on the season and being able to walk into a premiership team. Wonder if the Warnock influence gets him an EPL move and a bigger transfer fee??
  25. It was ultimately a nothing game. 1 more point against the old firm than I expected, now the real work begins. sounds like Roos at fault again. He’s a good shot stopper but he’s really poor off his line with high balls and crosses, and prone to mistakes. Punches too much instead of catching and will punch / palm infront of goal and give teams second chances. Definitely think a new keeper needed.
