Was thinking exactly that, and did in the other games too, even though this is the first real competitive game.
-
We are a lot less lively, Airdrie nice to watch!
-
Ha! Honestly, for the long term benefit of our current team playing ester makes sense. Surprised but interesting call by JT. Perhaps bojan gets 20 mins! As for £100, I’ll pay you next time I’m in Scotland!
-
Said that the other day, it’s in our best interest he move on asap. At the same time, having him sit do nothing benefits nobody. Sokler scored two the first game so it was hard to bench him for the second, but perhaps we see miovski then Ambrose tomorrow and ester back starting Saturday….?

I take your challenge! mitov devlin-ruby-molloy-mackenzie shinnie-nilsen morris-clarkson-mcgrath miovski 3-1 us, miovski McGrath and Morris
-
As I’ve said already, I think adding allan Campbell would give a good competitive edge to our center mid. Sivert and shinnie will both be 33 soon, injuries, suspensions, volume of games, and form all a factor. We cannot rely I those two for every game. Agree with the McGrath comment, he’s no holding mid and no a solution there. giving JT time is not just to assess, you can’t simply punt 6 players immediately, takes time. Although, we saw Morris play left mid for the first time and lovely touch and goal. He’s still poor though. i don’t think mcgarry has been given a good run but Mackenzie has kicked on and he’s our left back. Jensen can play multiple positions including left back and offers more flexibility than mcgarry. It’s a numbers game and mcgarry becomes expendable.
-
Yes and no. I’d like to see gueye Richardson Morris mcgarry Vinny and duk all punted asap. Add Duncan to that list. JT asked for time, a squad revamp takes time, especially when we paid over a million for this group, we need to recoup most/all of that. We have a bloated squad and have to sell before we can buy, that’s the responsible/ business approach to take as you know. i don’t think it’s unfair to expect another right mid and center mid, but we have depth in all other areas and while that depth isn’t strong, we need to move guys on first.
-
Fully agree, I rate McGrath. I also think he’d be given more leadership and responsibility if we didn’t have clarkson. Good players who can play anywhere in midfield and scores goals.
-
Two games and the perfect opportunity for people to claim right and left mid as their own. Morris has been the best of a bad lot, he’s shown that coming off the bench he has something. He has pace and in two games created and scored. While weak opposition he’s shown more than Duncan and Vinny. We have to sign a right and left mid with Morris the back up. Vinny and Duncan aren’t good enough for us. McGrath scan play left if needed. I think it’s clarkson or McGrath playing a free roaming 10. Both are creative and capable in that role, but it has to be shinnie and sivert (or a signing (like Alan Campbell) doing the heavy lifting behind the 10. Sad to say, but we were weaker in center mid today and it was east kilbride.
-
Job done but I’d say it was played in 2nd/3rd gear. Not particularly impressive but I suppose a good training exercise to look at players. Think today highlighted more what we are lacking than what we have.
-
Shinnie clarkson Boyd and Jensen all center mid? Although Boyd maybe left??
-
Still not convinced Ambrose is a football player…

Half time, 2 up, would be nice to go for it in the second and really try to bang in a few. We’ve paced ourselves, can certainly go up a gear or two. very poor coverage, said already, seems to be one camera on the half way line. With my eyes on an iPhone, hard to watch!! there’s no sub I’m excited to see. No real quality squad depth. No legit flair or creativity we can bring on. When we’re chasing a game who are our game changers?? Haven’t seen much from clarkson so far, perhaps give Boyd 30 mins or so? No fresh winger to come on, signings needed. RE McGrath, I think he’s a legit 10 but I think that’s where thelin sees clarkson. The balance of the team last week was better, shinnie and sivert work.
-
Two up, nice McGrath chip. If we kick on we score a few.
-
One up, devlin I think, but watching on my phone with this footage, it’s poor coverage, one camera from the half way line???
-
Yeah, 20 gone and a shit 20. Even game maybe being slightly bias. They’ve had better chances.
-
Was thinking that too, McGrath was left mid last week and I’d said before Vinny is a better 10 than winger. Expect to see them in both today.
-
I’d speculate sivert may have moving day? Very quick turn around for the guy to sign play move etc. I like the idea of a competitive look at players but that’s two in a row for Morris. Surely signing a right winger is priority, plus give Morris the competition to want to work harder and improve.
-
While I agree with you it’s also in our best interest to sell him asap. Who do we start tomorrow? I’d assume sokler, does bojan even play? It almost becomes a distraction. Or do you play bojan and show case him? Then sokler is benched which doesn’t benefit us, both regarding form and attitude, and what if miovski gets injured? It’s a tightrope spud.
-
Worth a look??
-
Since Morelos was worth 20m I don’t think 25m for bojan is unreasonable.
-
Heavily reliant on pace but limited in all other areas. Pace is such a huge advantage but they don’t have other qualities to truly take advantage. I think that’s a fair comparison/comment.
-
England go for Clarke and we pick up klopp?
-
The new away top arrived today, big fan, nice shirt!! As seebass said, bit of a Vitesse look but I do like when we go the alternative route with the away and 3rd kit rather than the simple white shirt. I know money talks but I’d be inclined to keep the same home kit for 2-3 years and vary the away yearly.

I’m not saying Darren mackie was shite, but I’d say he’s more shayden morris than ester sokler. In my lifetime as a dons fan we’ve had some pretty excellent forwards, then we’ve had Leon mike. I’d say mackie’s one of the weaker ones, whereas I’m more optimistic about sokler. Mackie played a stunning 300 plus games for us so he couldn’t have been awful, but he played at a time in which we had poor players and poor teams, and us dons fans regularly suffered, finishing seasons 7th, 8th, 9th twice, 10th, and 11th. different topic. We all know where duk is, what’s the deal with habib pape gueye? Think he’s still on loan, wouldn’t we have had him back for preseason if we thought he was in our plans??
