They were clinical for sure, did mitov even make a save today? Think they scored every shot. we sat back, intentionally or not, and the game was all Celtic from the start. I don’t recall it being that bad two weeks ago. We were never on the front foot and I’m sure that was jimmy’s issue. Shit first goal from shit zonal marking, shit second goal from mistakes. After that I really stopped paying attention as it was clear at that point we didn’t have it today. We were flat and I think it’s fair to say we needed a week to recover from the rangers game. We don’t have the depth Celtic do to replace 6 that would make us better.

Next 5 - Dundee at home, away to st mirren, hibs, hearts, then Celtic at home. while today hurts and 6 is brutal, beating Celtic is hard. No shame on losing to them. The next 4 and maintaining/stretching the lead over 3rd is huge before we see them again. rangers are home to hearts, united, away to st Johnstone, home to killie, then in dingwall. As pish as they are, they are next 3 of 4 at home and I’d expect 12-15 points in those 5. We are 3 of 4 away before Celtic at home, tough run. Big response needed to the month ahead.

We were found out today but we are still best of the rest. Still think duk and morris are bench players, duk especially drove me nuts today. Dive dive dive and complain, did nothing else. We were fatigued, pretty clear, they brought in six who had rested all week. Not much you can do there. not a fan of our zonal defending, all season we’ve given chances from set plays because we are not tight enough. Easy first goal for them today against a player we should definitely be locking up and preventing getting a header. would like us to get back to the topi clarkson McGrath midfield three, we’re a better team with three players who are technical. saying that I’d still play topi ahead of Morris but maybe inclined to start Vinny over McGrath, he’s been off of late, besides the Celtic assist. we needed a week to recover from the rangers game, this is what it is. If anything it’s ‘only’ the cup. Champions league is a real possibility, got to get back on it against Dundee and build momentum again as we have more away than home games coming up.

Reality check today. We’ve made mistakes this season and not been punished. Punished for what we did wrong today and the one chance we get we miss. Ruthless Celtic and a good lesson for the players that we can get much better.
-
Lewis Ferguson played the last 10 mins, good to see him back fit. Beat Rama’s lecce 1-0.
-
Almost as embarrassing as the last 15 mins. Just don’t have the fire and passion, couple of mistakes with a set piece goal and a poor counter. excuse I know, but flat from Wednesday. hook duk and topi. Morris to the right, McGrath left. Shinnie further forward with oalaversa alongside sivert. nothing to lose.
-
No arguing with you as I have never seen him play, but shankland was a good finisher with limited pace. Why Anderson over shankland?
-
I still, using my head, think Celtic will beat us. Bigger budget and better players, plus they are used to and expect to win. And we had a very emotional and exhausting game on Wednesday. But this time is different, we are on a major run and we have a manager who can do no wrong. Every time we have been questioned we’ve more than answered. Why not today, as I said before, Celtic are due a shock domestic loss and we’re due a cup win over Celtic..??!?

Funny, agree midfield doesn’t need touched when we had no midfield or width last year and we were awful there. Topi sivert palaversa have been very good signings and a reborn Morris and Vinny give us depth that are good enough for now. agree we need a 9. I don’t think nisbet is the answer and sokler and Ambrose give us depth. Gueye is an attacking player who gives you depth in all 4 attacking positions but I don’t see him as our main 9, or even a regular starter. really want to know where we stand with McGrath and McKenzie. Think we need to look at a contingency plan and a legit left mid/winger may be the right thing to do, perhaps giving us better balance in midfield. Maybe the young Aussie we were linked with?? i don’t agree we haven’t spent the bojan money, it’s not just paying for players but also signing on fees, salaries and new contracts (eg devlin). I do believe adding topi, sivert, palaversa, and Ambrose also adds up to decent money. Adding say a 32 yr old in January could be an option, but I’d be more likely to look at pre contracts this summer and ride out the season. Although could a legit center forward be the difference between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd, both having significant financial ramifications.

Is that 5 years after we win the league? Five years in champions league??
-
I don’t know jimmy obviously, and less than all of you in Scotland. based on what I’ve read, and heard him say, the way he conducts relationships, his affection/care for the clubs he has managed etc, I think we have him for 3 years minimum. He’s also openly talked about this being a 3 year plan (initially.) it was clear he cared for elfsborg, he didn’t leave until the end of the season. He apparently told us the previous season we should hire Robson since he’s earned it. He cares about clubs, has morals, brings a ‘we’ and ‘family’ approach. I also think this approach is perfect for us, a family club. And I think what has happened here with him so far is special and far from guaranteed at every club. The fans and players appear to love him and vice cersa. Obviously he’ll approach each club he manages differently, but I don’t think his approach works for every club. it’s early doors and things can go to shit. Successful managers have been sacked the following season. I think for us we try our best to keep Peter leven happy, he made a very good impression on us and the team last season. Hopefully he learns the ins and outs of thelin and perhaps takes over if and when the time comes.

Thelin to the Huns? Ambrose to Real Madrid?
-
With the way shady is playing I simply suggest a straight swap.

I guess ‘easily’ should be clarified. They created a number of chances and were unfortunate not to score. Just like we could have easily been 2 or 3 up at half time last night. We played so well last night first half that it’s fair to say it could easily have been a few goals in the first half, Celtic have the same argument. I wondered when he subbed sivert last night, and subbed him quite early. I think he was on a booking and putting himself around, but he also saved his legs so fully expect him to start at the weekend. as for the team, maybe nisbet for sokler if fit but sokler played well last night and kinda deserves the start. He’s also scored against Celtic, this season and last season I. The cup. I’d start clarkson and McGrath wide, duk coming on to terrorize them second half. It’s really our ‘normal’ 11. Is duk healthy??
-
I dont know what to expect. I also dont know how much last night took out of us, where’s Celtic have the luxury of freshening things up a little more than us. Celtic battered us at the end of the game 2 weeks ago and could have easily won. At the same time, we could have won too. We gave them something to think about, and from shinnie scoring to going up 3-2, they didn’t look unbeatable. One thing is for sure, we have a clever and creative manager. I’m sure he learned a lot playing Celtic and will make adjustments. Plus, we have a very motivated and driven team who have more than handled everything thrown at them season to date. We’re a brave group who won’t be scared. we’re due a cup win over them. They are due a domestic shock/loss. 3-2 us, possibly AET. Sokler, McGrath, and clarkson.
-
I think you are starting a rumor, January loan until we fully sign him back next summer?
-
That first half display was a thing of beauty. We were relentless. We said we haven’t really been that good, getting closer. I said at half time it would have taken a lot out of us and I expected more from rangers, but to lose a goal then go on and win it says so much about this team, AND the fans. i do appreciate so much honesty in the media saying how we totally outplayed them first half and deserved the win. To hear Clement’s post game interview is laughable, and given it was so obvious they were outplayed for much of the game, only does damage to his relationship with their fans. What thelin doing at Aberdeen makes him look so poor. Long may all of this continue. Oh, did I mention 17 mill losses yet? Ha.
-
Don’t see anyone having a go at him, he’s been excellent this season. But it was an awful penalty! tremendous win, most bizarre interview from clement afterwards, he felt it was one of their better games and didn’t deserve to lose. First half we absolutely hammered them. Hope he stays though, he is not making any progress with that squad. also nice to see hearts new manager bounce has lost its elasticity. October was the month that challenged us, and would really tell us and everyone if we were legit. damn we’ve come through it well. saturday is a free hit. We got to see what they were like and while they are good, it’s winnable.
-
Stunned at how bad a penalty. Would have preferred sokler to take it to be fair, he has the fight and temperament that I think he’d smash it in. at 1-1 I was pretty crushed given how good we were in the first half. But credit due, yet again we found a way. I’ve always believed in Morris too, up there with Ambrose in terms of quality! To be fair to him, thriving as an impact sub, let’s not get carried away and start him! Well done to the lad, nice to see we have players on the bench that can change games for the better when we need them. lastly, shout out to Molloy, very solid game. Ruby too. Molloy is a young lad but certainly has a calmness and a good partner for ruby. A consistent back 4 with sivert in front, hopefully they continue to grow together and improve.
-
Think he needed that! I know he’d missed a penalty, don’t think he’d scored for them before tonight??
-
Shaky first 20 mins of the second half but fucking deserved. First half outstanding. Proud dandy!!!
-
Absolutely battered them. That’s a lot of effort in the first half. Don’t expect them to be as shit second half. Definite red card as sokler was through. Awful penalty. Interesting second half ahead.
-
Duk starts, clarkson on the bench. I assume McGrath at 10 with duk on the left. Topi right, shady coming on second half to grab a goal and an assist!

Given the 17 mill announcement I’d really like to know about Barron, how when and how much we are being paid?? -
I think they are under so much pressure to compete with Celtic on the park while not having their shit together off it. Money is an issue to them obviously, to an extent I dont fully understand, but I think missing out on champions league is enormous. I also think it’s clear they aren’t progressing on the field due to two main factors, the manager has not improved performance and doesn’t appear to even have a style of play, plus their new signs have cost money but so far do not appear to have bought value. then the dons factor kicks in which affects them in my opinion. Our manager has brought an instant impact with a smaller budget. We are playing well, fans are excited, and we have a clear tactical set up - they have none of that. You then could argue gueye, sivert, mitov, molloy, even palaversa and topi have had as big if not a bigger impact than their more costly signings. they envy us and that terrifies them. Lose Wednesday and that is devastating to their club and fans. Now and potentially next too, at least.
