  1. Thanks fuck morris started……
  2. Interesting lineup, possibly returning to a back 3? 5 center mids too! Shows the real lack of squad balance that we may have to do that. Will be interesting!!
  3. Fucking seriously. I heard he’s watching the Motherwell game from a local boozer with leven in the dug out on a walkie talkie.
  4. Really? Excellent job of us scouting miovski? So what happened with morris, Richardson, or dadia, markanday, Roberts, myslovic, gueye etc. and probably a few more…. For all we know our scouting could be sitting in a boozer talking to fans or playing championship manager. You hit on endless hot chicks and eventually one will say yes!! as for warnock adding to his value, I think there’s something there. He’s a very well known and well liked guy with tons of contacts/connections who may easily get a call about this miovski lad on his team. Alternatively, he may give some premiership buddy a call about bojan, you never know. Robson wasn’t in his league when it comes to the footballing fraternity.

    Serie A

Ramadani vs Ferguson today, bologna two up in the first half. Neither have scored, not sure if Ferguson is captain, he was last week.
  6. Yup, pretty poor from us. Never thought we really got going and didn’t take a real grip of the game. Didnt create much either. speculating but it looked like warnock used the game to have a good look at players in competitive action rather than go on to get rhythm, confidence, and score a few more. But with 3 games this week and two important league games I suppose I get it. from what I saw morris again proved he’s not good enough and duk had an entire game against that level and still didn’t do much. Both have pace but really don’t effectively use it, and I’m getting really bored with duk’s dribbling. Polvara is a squad player who plays the odd good game, Duncan shows little yet again. With no real quality width and no dominating and driving center mid it won’t get much better any time soon.
  7. Not a great game and they are being allowed to do more than I’d like but cruising for the most part. Get a third and it’s done. Jensen goes backwards too much plus it’s still clear neither duk or polvara and a left winger. Duk does my head in, not a smart player and while he creates occasionally, I’d prefer a legit left mid or even sokler up top Instead of him.
  8. Hmmm. I’m assuming it’s trying to be a better team and not squad rotation? Roos dropped is understandable, gartenmann has a foot issue? Play duk and morris to give us width? Good central balance with shinnie polvara and clarkson? time will tell!
  9. Funny you say that, heard a couple of people compare warnock to McLeod. really keen to see us play well although until we have two wingers/wide mids our performances will be limited. Saying that, still shooting for 6-0 today!
  10. How would hiring leven have benefitted us long term? getting pretty irritated by the constant moaning ffs. He’s not our permanent manager. Who would have been a good permanent managerial signing right now? Every single name out there has pros and cons. Lennon? Lambert? Ross? Or maybe kettlebell? Martindale? Robinson is doing a decent job. We missed out on Levein unfortunately but Derek Adam’s is available. Or maybe we go the foreign route with a guy with little or no Scottish football knowledge/experience? Would have hiring a permanent manager guaranteed us 3rd? 4th? After failing with the last 3 managers taking our time to look at this is ok with me. how exactly does warnock hurt us right now? What is the damage he is doing? What is he stopping us doing? Maybe can learn something from warnock? Maybe cormack will benefit from the insight of an incredibly experienced professional who has seen more than just Scottish football? im not really a warnock fan but having failed on the managerial front for the last 3, I’m ok with us taking a different approach, especially as ill keep saying, there are no clear standout popular choices to hire or desperate to come to us.
  11. 6-0 us, miovski hat trick, clarkson, shinnie, and duk. We’re due a good game!!!
  12. Interesting comments post game from Warnock about Miovski scoring 30 on the season and being able to walk into a premiership team. Wonder if the Warnock influence gets him an EPL move and a bigger transfer fee??
  13. It was ultimately a nothing game. 1 more point against the old firm than I expected, now the real work begins. sounds like Roos at fault again. He’s a good shot stopper but he’s really poor off his line with high balls and crosses, and prone to mistakes. Punches too much instead of catching and will punch / palm infront of goal and give teams second chances. Definitely think a new keeper needed.
  14. Firstly, none of us really saw warnock coming but it is what it is, give the guy a chance. I thought his interview was interesting and sincere. I think he’s excited to be here and up for a challenge. I think he wants to be here, his passion is there, I don’t think he’s here just for cash and something to do. He’s a personality and a storyteller and it showed. Reminded me a little of ebbe. He also acknowledged that 50% of the fans don’t want him and some need won over. Acknowledged some see him as a dinosaur, and his giving players a bollocking doesn’t work in this day and age. He said some stuff which showed his lack of knowledge for the game, like is it only the league and a cup, but that’s as much his playful personality. I can see press conferences being busy and lengthy. I think he seems pretty clued up on our situation plus he brings an assistant and has leven. He’s an honest pro who expects players to work hard, and I think we have a squad to suit that. I think glass Goodwin and Robson coached with fear in the back of their minds, young guys building a reputation. Warnock has nothing to lose and it showed, perhaps the players will benefit from that ‘freedom.’ We don’t have a terrible squad and have some talent. We saw that against Celtic second half and the first half vs hearts. We have some good players, perhaps he brings the best out of them. Maybe his experience and wisdom is what these guys need. Or maybe not…
  15. You are correct, playing to strengths sounds easy, but how many managers fail there?? Our strengths appear to be in central midfielders, clarkson, shinnie, Barron, McGrath, yet long ball doesn’t really suit them, plus Robson regularly played shinnie wrongly in my opinion. I’d also say devlin is a quality right back but he’s been played as a wing back or central defender for much of the season. We’ve also had a midfield full of central midfielders, some forced wide which is not their strength. Really curious to see how we line up moving forward since we all see width as an issue. as I said yesterday, hopefully warnock has the experience to see our players strengths and fully maximize them.
  16. He’s a what you see is what you get guy. Doubt any of us thought of him when Robson got sacked but it is what it is. Too many coaches/managers try to sound smarter than they are, this guy seems pretty genuine and excited for the job. Don’ think he’ll get us relegated plus I think he draws attention to us, and I think may help with recruitment, both players and a new manager. Time will tell!
  17. Clarity!!! Safer higher, not safe. Not who I’d want but I get it and it makes sense to me. Much better this way than repeat the Robson process with leven, much better than bringing in Lennon, lambert, or Ross. There are no standout candidates, much like when we hired Robson. Perhaps we should have done this last year and had a warnock type mentor and prepare Robson? We need a review of football operations as the last three years have not gone as wanted. I personally would hold Gunn equally responsible for the shape of the team and squad. Ive been with an organization who have done something very similar, hire an old head to oversee while an assessment is done. Perhaps in the summer we’re hiring Neil along with a new director of football? Hiring a new permanent manager now is just papering over cracks.
  18. Thoughts on killian Phillips so far? Thought he did ok against Celtic, and was a little unlucky with his long distance effort. Definitely offers something different in center mid, but certainly doesn’t his the fact we are still drastically short on wide midfielders. Do see him starting against rangers too, he gets stuck in and then maybe bring in flair later in the game.
  19. And if we are third or fourth at the end of the season it doesn’t matter.
  20. Already explained. It’s a safer hire than Leven (who would also buy us time as an intern) or some new up and comer for example. As long as it’s clear from the start it’s intern and short term. Guy is a short term fix, loaded with experience, not much he hasn’t seen in the game. I think that’s pretty obvious that he’s safer than leven or the likes. I’d take this over Lennon, lambert, Ross, or all the crap floating around. There’s very few immmediate and available hires that I find appealing to take us forward long term. i didn’t say hiring warnock was crucial, where did that come from? I said his hire made sense. Given the last three managers have been a bit of a mess, plus the transfer front has brought in some real stinkers, and our current squad is so imbalanced, a football ‘audit’ makes sense. Take a step back, it appears the manager isn’t the only problem. I think what cormack is doing is smart. hiring a new guy right away means it’s just the manager that’s the problem. I think it’s bigger than that, and a new manager immediately masks over the bigger issues. Who in the club is owning the last 3 failed managers and an absolute mess of a current squad? steadying the ship - Robson was all over the place, again due to lack of experience and never having managed. This guy has tons of experience. Doesn’t buy success but you’d like to think he has a keener eye to play players and the team correctly, and he’s been in this type of situation before. stick it to the old firm - no clue who said that or why any of our coaches would be considered the guy to do that?? Some see it as risky, all appointments come with risk. But experience has value. What’s occurring is not a cop out but cormack taking a deeper look to see if there bigger issues to fix. taking us backwards - if he gets us relegated I’ll agree, but for the most part we’ve been horrible to watch all year and results have been shit. We’re on pace for bottom 6 and no Europe next year. How much more backwards can we get? Our squad is piss too, as is , for the most part, our formation and style of play. The only way to take us backwards is relegation. If he stays with us beyond the summer and becomes a long term appointment then I have concerns. before yesterday we were 5 points ahead of 11th and the relegation playoff, drawing and struggling with with two teams around us. You trusted robson to turn us around? A guy who has never been responsible for a club in his life, and never faced a relegation battle perhaps? Nothing he was showing suggested he could turn it around. As for the comment regarding injuries etc, do you have any rationale or evidence to suggest the guy does not know how to coach/train with modern ‘safe’ methods?? What robson did to shinnie for example and how he expected him to play every game and the demands of his role could be seen as prehistoric and putting his health at risk! Your comment is just random and clutching at straws.
  21. As I said, he buys us time because he’s a safer hire than many out there. Nothing guaranteed but experience means something. His job is not to progress us long term but hopefully steady the ship. Don’t get us relegated, get us top 6 and hopefully Europe which is not far away. Robson kept fucking up and needed help/his hand held. I dont see this old timer needing that while we explore the best long term solution. perhaps he praised Celtic or rangers in the past, big fucking deal. Here we go down this road again. Mcinnes was a hun, while from Aberdeen Robson is a Tim, etc etc. Maybe he wanted the rangers or Celtic jobs in the past so praised them, who fucking cares. I can’t stand the reaction to Huns, Tim’s, once he’s our guy I expect 100% commitment. Move on. his job is not to progress the club ffs. His job is intern while we conduct a football audit. Cormack, Gunn (hopefully his replacement or a new structure), and the new permanent manager should do that. Robson was an up and coming manager who kept fucking up. Played long ball, painful to watch. Mcinnes did in the end too, awful on the eyes. Glass was the opposite but we weren’t good enough to play out of the back. Who gives a fuck that he’s a dinosaur, it’s not his job to change us long term, his job is stability and get us up the table rather than the endless shit we’ve seen of late with the odd good game. blows my mind the negative reaction. Has he been offered a 5 year contract? I’d understand the reaction is that was the case.
  22. Don’t hear anyone being sold on the name and celebrity. I think, from my perspective anyway, there’s no clear stand out candidate, plus as he’s been stated on here, our issues may well come from more than just the manager. He buys us time. Warnock’s a been there done that manager, he doesn’t need his hand held as we take a step back and assess the situation. He’s hopefully not a long term solution but in this guy there’s not much he hasn’t seen. don’t know why you think he adores the old firm, or where he has said he will stick it to them, and you are correct, we’ve failed tactically so we bring in vast experience. I think our league is generally shit, not many good teams. I don’t think it will take a lot to get us back on track, just not from a guy who has never been there before. There is no such thing as a safe hire, he’s just less risk than a Robson, glass, or Goodwin type if you ask me. A young up and comer may have a higher ceiling, but he’s not long term (hopefully.) he’s never coached in Scotland before, but many have failed who have done so. I don’t think that’s an issue. He’s a media personality, but football is full of those. Does that make him a bad hire?
  23. The guy is entertainment for sure, a bit too much, but much like Hodgson, he’s been there done that. That has value. We need an old head short term, the young approach since mcinnes hasn’t worked. As long as he’s not our long term solution he buys us time to step back and look at the bigger picture. theres not a stand out candidate, who would you hire right now? Having a few months to provide a stronger solution, both in manager and possibly the restructuring on the football side, helps.
  24. Interesting approach if its warnock. Would have taken him over glass or goodwin at the time, my only concern is age. Guy clearly has experience and contacts, i see him in a similar role to brown hopefully who laid the foundation for mcinnes. The more I read, I’d really like to see Alex Neill come in, similar to mcinnes background when we hired him, if not better. I think he publicly said during previous searches that he wouldn’t come north, but his stock is maybe lower since then. Warnock buys us time to do a bit of a football audit, given the managers and transfers since mcinnes, the audit makes sense. I like cormack, it’s the yank in me, always have said that. he’ll get criticism regardless of what he does, I think what we are doing makes sense.
  25. Just watched the highlights, neither on YouTube from the tv or red tv show what should have been a red card, plus how is that not a penalty? If that’s rangers or Celtic claiming it’s given. I know it’s the usual bias but it seems to be weekly the the old firm get the breaks, I’ve never commented on this stuff before, but just like the Huns semi where it’s a pull and a penalty like happened the week before. Getting old.
