Ramadani works his bollocks off for us, does a very good job. Makes mistakes but anyone would given the effort and involvement. I’d say similarities to Willo flood and Ryan jack in a sense, mixed opinions on the player but we’d see a big hole and would be missed when gone.

Yeah, I’ll get it, just a little shocked at the increase. As I said before, it’s my season ticket so can’t really complain and I watch as much as I can. Almost never get back to Scotland now, money, time, and priorities, can’t even tell you my last ‘in person’ game. it has definitely improved, adding rob McLean too is an expense I’m sure. The fact I had to search for this thread and the last post was sept 2020 tells you the grumbling had stopped and it’s a solid product.

Taught both his daughters and met him many times. He’d volunteer his time and teach acting classes at school too, such a nice guy. Very sad to hear he died, he went missing in January and they only found him (or remains) on Saturday. I suppose this is closure now for the family.

Been watching the highlights of our campaign to date and I have to say, the commentary is brilliant. I think it’s Michael Stewart and I don’t know the name of the other guy, but it certainly adds to the watching. Been big fans of Archie, jock brown, Derek Rae, rob McLean, even Arthur montford had a unique style, but I have to praise the current two. Excellent!

Great start to the campaign, but 4 hard games ahead. No gimmies. Win the next one in Cyprus and the worst we can do is 15 points, dropping 9. Georgia away will be hard, fair to say we didn’t see the best of them tonight. Norway have already dropped 8. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Spain win out, so 15 would be enough.

Read into duk modeling the new 3rd strip as a sign he’ll be here next season?? Would be a strange choice if he was on his way out.

Kinda my thought too, we never got to see him enough for proof he was pish. But then again, perhaps he proved it in training. Plus, with the players we have to move on, any money should be taken, one less salary to pay.

Tuesday is a really intriguing banana skin game. Georgia have had decent results over the last couple of years, plus obviously drew with Norway and won in Cyprus. No pushovers. We’re not the most creative of teams and rely on counter attack, much like us dons. I think we’ll struggle assuming they sit in and let us have more of the ball. Really need an early goal to open it up a little but, especially with the emotion of yesterdays win, a big effort is required and we need to be really up for this. We didn’t play that well yesterday and it’s a very different game where we’re expected to be the aggressor, I wish I had unwavering confidence. unlikely but I’d start Gilmour in the middle of mcginn and mctom instead of mcgregor. Play Christie at 10 in a freee roaming role behind dykes and really encourage hickey and Robertson to get forward and give us width. Hope Robertson is fit, when he went down in Norway I feared the worst. We really lack creativity, very reliant on mcginn and Christie. Is it 3 years of playing in a country before you can play for the national team?? I cannot remember but I thought I heard that a few years ago when discussing joe Lewis. Two more years and add clarkson’s flair in there??!!

Funny, I was thinking that yesterday. I’d say the next stage of bavidge development is a loan and regular playing time. I just see him getting 5-10 mins here and there with us, maybe an occasional start if we have injuries. I think he does go out on loan to play. I hope sokler is Marley’s replacement but I still say, sadly, we don’t have duk/miovski next season. I’m also curious about the Uefa rules and home grown talent. Seems we need three or four Scottish boys brought in, right? What’s the exact ruling there??

A day on and I’m still quite shocked by this. Nothing compares, maybe Ryan Christie and the potential excitement of a successful loan becoming permanent only for him not to return. That’s what I fully expected. It was a more successful loan spell than Maddison too and look what’s happened to him since. We may only get a year from clarkson but I do expect a decent check when he moves on. Quality player and we all see that. Credit to Aberdeen, we don’t often give them the praise when good things happen.

Based on what we have seen so far it’s a good investment! I will add, but disappointed he didn’t arrive with a black hat on and leather trench coat. Thought we’d signed bono that day. Don’t remember what it was like when we signed gillhaus, I don’t think it was a big deal as we hadn’t really heard on him. hard to compare, is the return of Jess a decent comparison? Hrs thing is most return he’s having not achieved great success. Clarkson returns having played a blinder of a season, scored cracking goals, and signs permanently from liverpool of all people. Almost impossible to give a comparison but certainly exciting.

Sell on clause and release fee I’d assume but great business! keep in mind he’s a good young player, not an internationalist like Charlie or gillhaus. Look at the buzz around Connor Barron when he came into the team and he’s certainly stalled. Let’s not put too much pressure or expectation on the guy. I’d compare him to Lewis Ferguson as he is coming here to play weekly and as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Yes, Ferguson hadn’t impressed here on loan first, but we were his next step. Smart by clarkson coming here and he’ll play every minute he wants more or less, play in Europe, and we’re a great shop window. adding shinnie and pollock would be nice, not being greedy!

I think getting or not getting shinnie is huge. He was massive for us and his influence on our improvement cannot but understated. No surprise we had a bit of a wobble when he was suspended. I’ll also add that if it was easy to find a replacement we’d have done that. As mentioned, I’ll be gutted if we don’t get him. I can also see him playing until mid/late 30s, you may not see as many lung busting runs but his influence will continue for a while. 32 still gives us a good 3-4 years in my opinion.

For me it’s losing the league to the huns on the last day of the season in 1991 when we shat it. We did so well to get to that situation and I’ll never forgive Michael watt for being a big puss. remember being crushed when we lost the second leg semi at home 1-0 to Porto in 1984. I was only 11 but I just assumed we’d win and overcome the 1-0 first leg. After all, we were the best team in Europe. Obviously 1983 is talked about but in 84 it was us, the favorites I think, Porto, juve, and man utd in the semis. Crazy!

Saw today us linked to Morgan Feeney, 24 yr old central defender and captain of Carlisle Utd. Anyone know if he’s decent? Also supposedly linked to hearts and hibs. No clue to the truth in this as I’ve seen this guy, Clark Robertson, Michael rose, and Jay Idzes mentioned in the last week or so….
