  1. Good grief min. Someone or something has possessed you within the last 24 hours. You’re normally one of the more rational thinkers here. Re write this in a month. It’s been a mad scramble to field a team this month, give the boys a break and a chance to even unpack and get settled in at the club. Some of the guys, particularly the last three prior to the big unit up top, will be key players for us. But have they even trained yet?? Barely.
  2. Come on man. Defenders have been signed to play alongside Macdonald, the main guy in a three. Let’s see how that goes. A lot has been asked of ruby since he’s come in. He’s made mistakes but has also done plenty positive too. He’s also been exposed at times too, like the penalty last night. Shouldn’t have dived in but was left 1v1 against a very good player. Jensen hasn’t even been with us a week! Mcgarry shows enough promise too and he’s come half way across the world within a couple of weeks while not playing for a couple of months and just having had his first kid, only to leave them. Lots of factors, but giving them time is only fair. morris is shite. We can certainly agree on that. But he’ll be devlin back up once Macdonald is fully fit. rama was missed last night, we do need another grafter and holding mid in the squad. One of the reasons our defense does look exposed at times, leading to the questions about the ability of our defenders. Hopefully that gets fixed today.
  3. And yes, I think we are better off in a way in the conference league. There are some weaker teams in there. Some good ones too obviously. Based on some of the comments today we’ll get crucified by some of you if we get a European pumping. It’s an exciting adventure, won’t be perfect or pretty at times but enjoy it ffs. robson is trying to implement a more attacking style, I think we hear and see that. It’s work in progress with new players yet we’re getting complains about our performance. I’d rather we tried this than the mcinnes tactics. Or Goodwin. lastly, refreshing to sign most players rather than a bunch of loaners coming in. Congrats to the club for that. We’ve got this group for a couple of years at least. It’s been less than a month, scrambling to put a team on the field. Again, give it time.
  4. Quite a bit of bitching and moaning, come on boys. Had we scored our chances we’d be in the group stage. We didn’t though but we’re still in a European competition with exciting games ahead. That’s a good thing. Would rather see that than play group stage league cup football? Think we missed a healthy Macdonald last night, that’s a factor. We also lost to the Swedish league champions who are in mid season, that’s no embarrassment. We’ve lost one game in the league to our league champions, and we actually played quite well in that game. St mirren beat us last year. Livi away isn’t an easy fixture. Loads of signings coming in, lots of varying fitness levels, players developing chemistry, even possibly Duk and miovski a little unsettled with transfer talk. Hopefully we sign Baccus today and let’s give the team and squad time. I’ve seen enough from the new signings to suggest we’ll be a decent team this year. It’s September 1, breathe!!
  5. Explain the whole ‘can’t play in a 3-5-2’ comment…..who??
  6. Kind of the way I feel. A dozen new signings and not like they all arrived together at the beginning of preseason. And I still feel we’re a center mid away from having done good business. But, as also mentioned, they are mid season, many of ours didn’t get a full preseason, and have few games under their belts. Add bojan coming back from injury, no way is he fully sharp. My only disappointment is duk, should have scored in both legs. cnference league is a good fit for us, a few more weeks to gel and some winnable games perhaps.
  7. Other than Duk for sokler that’s the team I want. Just don’t see Duk dropped, his pace is huge and he needs games to find fitness/form.
  8. Invite him up for tonight. Take a look and enjoy the atmosphere!! A good sell…..provided we win!
  9. Help me understand that. If we play in the same euro competition as the Huns we lose tv money? So do Celtic gain by rangers not being in the champs league? And would it then better serve us to be the only group stage euro conference team then??? Don’t understand this…
  10. Got criticized by some for saying I don’t give two shits how rangers and Celtic do in Europe, so can I be first to say, congrats to rangers on being the first Scottish team to qualify for the Europa league! Well done Huns
  11. Is he really? Went to England and wasn’t successful. Didn’t leave us at his peak, got sacked, doing ok at killie after finishing 10th, no wow factor there. nothing special and a couple of decent results this year doesn’t really change things. Hibs is a step up.
  12. As we recover from our worst game in a long time, I see Hacken lost 4-2 away to Gothenburg today. Were 4-0 down after 53 mins. hacken 2nd in the league, Gothenburg 12th. Gothenburg had 29% possession!
  13. has to be bavidge on loan, he needs it. Gueye gives us a very different look and I’d guess having four solid players to rotate is the plan. Bavidge is 5, get him out somewhere for the experience and minutes.
  14. Tough one to judge but how did Jensen look? Mcgarry and McGrath??
  15. Mcinnes??
  16. I will add, think today showed that we definitely need a ramadani replacement, need another grafter/battler in there. God help us when shinnie gets injured / suspended. We’re too lightweight, unless Or Dadia can do a job in there.
  17. Thank you, a pragmatist. Almost a dozen new signings, 2 who haven’t even been with us even a week, and one who has just come from the other side of the world. Plus an inexperienced manager dealing with a new season for the first ever time, piecing a team together, blending in new signings some of whom aren’t fit, plus the European situation and trying to qualify for the stronger group tournament. It’s a lot!! I’d say let’s see where we are by maybe the beginning of October? in regard to the league, bar rangers and Celtic (in time), everyone will beat everyone, and it’s who can go on a run and be consistent. I truly believe we’ll get there. three games in with these challenges and we’ve lost one in 3. We’re seeing positives too, even from a shit performance like today, we didn’t lose. killie and st mirren will fall away, we will pick up.

    VAR

I’ll give my two cents. Has var made the game better, no. We’re seeing penalties/goals given that wouldn’t be given, and aren’t even claimed for at times. Even the slightest of offside by a pube is now offside. I’d rather we just stuck with refs and training them to improve. Every game someone looks to var for assistance, that’s not always for the good of the game. I don’t think var has worked.
  19. Ya think??? first impression he impedes miovski and he’s already been booked. It was his second yellow. Plus he takes him out around the neck/head. No brainer if you ask me.
  20. Of course I knew I was right! Said earlier in the week devlin at right wing back and we’ll see goals and assists. Although what’s he doing at the #9 and most advanced position for his goal!?? a week of training with mcgarry mcgrath and Jensen, plus I’m sure they’ll see minutes against st Mirren on Sunday, and that’s three solid additions for the 2nd leg. Assuming Jensen isn’t shite. Looking forward to the team we put out next week, plus a solid result.
  21. How long had Ruby been with us before the livi game?? One day?
  22. Interesting window. Two players today if the Finnish defender is on his way, and a third in a big unit forward. Leaves a very interesting squad, very little creative width and very lightweight in center mid. we’re obviously committed to 3 at the back judging by the defenders we’ve signed. Wing backs in mcgarry and devlin who from what we’ve heard are physical beasts who can run all day. Back up morris has pace, and Hayes and Mackenzie will be decent on the left. Or dadia can play right wing back too from what I gather. has me wondering if polvara and now or dadia are intended to be the central midfielders, the latter obviously a question mark given we’ve seen so little. Still think our final signing should be the flood/Rama/heikkinen type if we get one more. duk, miovski, sokler, and gueye would be solid depth and different ways of playing. roos ruby Macdonald jennsen devlin clarkson shinnie mcgarry mcgrath miovski duk interesting best 11 given if we can call it that. Still think adding a Rama type and benching McGrath is a better option.
  23. To an extent, and I’m not saying both start every week, but we are overly reliant on clarkson. I also see clarkson as a little deeper. Can’t have enough flair in my eyes, need that magic, especially when we have no wingers.
  24. I’ll go against the grain here. I’m happy if we get him. Proven player at this level, young enough to improve, internationalist. not an unknown foreigner. And yes, creative 10, dead balls etc. our squad lacks this. Haven’t had this type since Maddison or Christie. And I don’t expect him to be overly expensive. Signing won’t wow people but I’d say similar to devlin, will be good for us. still need a midfield grafter too.
  25. Mcinnes take a class on how to beat the old firm this summer? big cup opportunity now. Wait to you see us draw the Huns away…
