Ambrose on loan, we agree on that. And I doubt duk will play for us ever again. But I don’t see anywhere that Nisbet is an attitude problem/issue other than Millwall. Is this getting blown out of proportion? Is it a coach/player personality clash, what’s the issue? Maybe I’ve missed it where he has ongoing attitude issues from club to club. im disappointed we don’t have a loan to buy option if the report I saw is correct, that bothers me and is the pisser on this deal.

Just watched the red tv interview, seems pretty enthusiastic and eager to play for us, get back into the Scotland squad etc. says he’s fit and raring to go. he’s not bojan, but as I said already, a little bit like signing Adam Rooney. I think he’s a goal scorer and will do well. No pre agreed option to buy from what I read.

So is it a Millwall issue or has he had this issue at other clubs? Without further info we do not know, clash with the manager etc….. if it was ongoing repeatedly at clubs I’d get it, but haven’t heard this from his previous clubs??
-
What’s the attitude concern? Rumors of being overweight and not coming back in shape but is this a career thing? Maybe a Lawrence shankland situation where the penny finally drops and he focuses on footie??
-
I’d compare it to signing Adam Rooney (arguably better given his previous price tag.) Not a glamor striker but good and effective for our league. Wonder if it’s loan with a fee agreed for a permanent transfer?? Plus another player, maybe in the ante situation, who is keen to get back to fitness and form and has a point to prove. while not a bojan glamor foreigner, it’s signing a good Scottish player which is a good thing.

Seeing this morning he’s on his way up for a medical and his loan is agreed. Anyone got anything positive to say about this? Proven success up here, although just one season for the most part with hibs I think. something that is a factor to me, he’s Scottish, need that in our team!

Jensen out on loan, bit surprised at that given we’re linked/the gossip is we are looking to bring in a defender. I’d assume that it has to be pretty near to a new arrival is we’re letting Jensen go. Hope we get the Aussie in, I’d like to see Keskinen and vinnie wide tomorrow and him being competition to them in the future. Think Connie got a good kick up the arse, and when clarkson is fit McGrath can also play on the left (or right) too. im warming to Kevin Nisbet, he gets in shape while sokler is given the opportunity to be our 9. Nisbet was a proven success in Scotland and has lost his way, motivated to play and get back into the Scotland squad. Good age too. Loan deal is low risk high reward.
-
But will he be as impactful as mcgarry? Or are we using mcgarry in the recruitment process? are we in talks over a nisbet loan??

I think we’ll give them a decent spanking. They haven’t started the league well, out the cup, I expect a loss in Europe, and already fatigue appears to be an issue with them. Flip side we are on a run, confidence is high, and it’s a home game after a week of solid training. really hope we play Vinny and keskinen wide from the start with McGrath behind sokler. Also want to see ante come on in the second half. Think we’ll get our first penalty of the year that sokler will score. 4-1 us. Sokler 2, keskinen, McGrath

Assuming that’s an accurate and recent pic, he’s no where near in the condition to play the way JT wants. our transfers have been private, plus creative. This seems lazy. I just don’t see truth in this one, as has been said, is he any better than sokler? As much as there was probably nothing in the st johnstone player rumor, he at least was something different….and fit. from what we see, Ambrose and gueye aren’t good enough to be our main starter, and questions being asked of sokler. If we do sign a forward it makes no sense to sign a mother back up or work in progress player. Needs to be a fit and ready starter.
-
Not overly exciting but I read it’s for a loan deal, not a permanent signing. I’d assume loan with option to buy? Did well at hibs but I really haven’t paid that much attention to know if he’s any good. Then again, I don’t think shankland is that good but seems to be doing ok at that wee Edinburgh club.

Aging myself??? Perhaps dons versus premier league newcomers Dundee utd sounds better?
-
Jumping the gun here, but new firm and old firm cup semifinals would be good!!
-
A little surprised killie asking for help. Only fair if they do it to all clubs in Europe every year, or perhaps if a team reaches a euro semi and the ‘country’ is supporting them! dont recall getting an sympathy from anyone last year…
-
Why??? That’s special treatment, we did it last year, hearts the year before, no?
-
Well killie played 24 hrs after us, now have extra time today, 10 men, travel to Denmark, then up to us next Sunday. Not ideal for them!

Ha! Morris cuts inside a lot, one of my major frustrations with a player with supposed blazing speed who should be able to take anyone on the outside. i was meh on Topi yesterday. Nice finish but he didn’t really do anything spectacular, but I had no expectation on him yesterday. Give the boy time to settle and I’m optimistic based on the clips I’ve seen that he’ll be a good signing.

It’s been seven games and we’ve seen shinnie sivert clarkson McGrath vinnie Morris topi gueye polvara Duncan, and maybe even boyd in our midfield. Hard to get real continuity chemistry and understanding. Throw in sokler playing with miovski, plus the transfer drama, we’re weekly work in progress. i like sokler but have my doubts, but i agree time is needed. Just not sure if sokler will get that.
-
I check here every day and really appreciate the interaction. Given I live overseas, I don’t have anyone to talk to about Aberdeen, although I do have a couple of yanks and two Brazilians I work with in my EPL fantasy league who have all shown interest in the dons and now follow our scores. My endless venting has made it impossible for them to ignore us. anyway, I talk to myself here half the time and occasionally reply to my own posts but who gives a shit really. Appreciate you all contributing!!

Agree re Mackenzie, and I think he has developed good chemistry with McGrath. Given McGrath really isn’t a wide player, Mackenzie bombing on is huge for us and McGrath gives him that space. I also think it’s credit to sivert and shinnie too who help allow Mackenzie and devlin to push on. like the appetite of vinnie the last two games. Seems like someone has finally got through to him to work his bollocks off. He has ability, can he keep up this intensity?
-
I didn’t think barron was a permanent starter for us. I think he’s the best of a bad lot there, I don’t think that’s a good team and I don’t think they have a particularly good coach. flip side, I’m liking Thelin and his philosophy, and the style of play we seem to be adapting. shinnie, sivert, polvara, clarkson, McGrath, plus hopefully, and this is a biggie, ante is a legit player, that’s a solid center midfield group. Throw in transfers too and our somewhat successful philosophy there, plus general club finance, it appears to be two clubs heading in different directions.
-
From your perspective in real time of proven through replay??
-
Until clarkson is back, we have to have McGrath at 10 and two from vinnie/morris/topi wide. gueye has had minutes and not done enough. Agreed, sokler up top with McGrath behind will be better for ester too.
