  1. Not long back, quite enjoyed that today at a sun kissed Tynecastle, pretty much controlled the game apart from a 10/15 min spell at start of 2nd half. Best performers for me Shinnie,McLean & Considine, McGinn & Hayes pretty anonymous. Great dons following again making plenty of noise, great celebration at the end with D.M & T.D joining in. Thought Collum controlled the game very well Onto next Friday lets destroy Timothys record.
  2. Looking for a huge improvement from saints game, hope they realise that we need the 3 points. In Roseburn 2 1 us (Rooney,Hayes)
  3. If that was to be the new kit, it would be a big improvement on current one.
  4. I agree,Hayes has been very good for most of the season, almost unplayable some weeks, he has been poor for a few weeks now (tired poss.) My player of the season would go to Considine though, closely followed by Lewis. 2nd half of the season McLean would be in with a shout but overall has to be big Andy.
  5. Ryan will be easily replaced, indeed i think he has been.
  6. What is it about St.J ? we resort playing hoofball against the hoofball specialists, they are without doubt the dirtiest team in the league & you need a strong ref unfortunately we had Alan Muir (completely out his depth). Terrible match, terrible crowd, terrible weather & terrible ref, god , my eyes were bleeding. We need McGinn & Hayes fit & on form, neither were. Rooney was diabolically bad & our captain was partly responsible for both farmers goals. God, i hate St.Johnstone.
  7. Certainly need ball winner in midfield , will that be Tansey ? New striker needed.
  8. Usually struggle against this lot, can see a narrow win 2 1 . In/out - In furryboots - mainer (D) pre match - driving post match - driving prediction - 2 1 (Rooney,McGinn) Last Saturday 3.00 k.o in league.
  9. Strange game, great start & the best (only) thing Rooney has done for months, but ineffective thereafter. After our 2nd, thought we were going to blow them away, but our defenders all looked strangely jittery, Logan & Hayes were both shockingly off the pace. Hayes 2nd bad game in a row. Niall obviously wasnt fit enough as he wasnt running right. Main thing though is our 1st S.C cup final for yonks, think we need another jaunt to Dubai to get refreshed before 27th May My top dons were Shinnie & McLean.
  10. This is it dons, lets do it, play to anything like our best & we will win, boot boot
  11. [quote author=donsdaft link=topic=19340.msg314604#msg314604 I would say the 76 final against timothy was the 'pomagne bottle' final, covered end split 50/50, bottles & cans flying constantly, after match was interesting too :o I was there in 1978, don't remember the Pomagne bottles though. Probably the same reason the Tims were in half the Protestant End in 1976 That was when it was "fair" to only give the Dons fans about 20,000 tickets. They are still arguing their case to return to those days.
  12. I heard similiar yesterday re Christie joining us.
  13. That sums up most of our players dd, about being too soft & hiding in big games. Tansey should be an improvement .
  14. Best passer of the ball we have had at Pittodrie since Jazzer , agree ?
  15. Would like to say i enjoyed that today, would like to say that but cant really, played ok 1st half, but not so good after break added to some awful decisions by that clown Madden. How St.J finished with 11 men on the park is beyond me. Good Dons support as per , players looked a bit nervy at times. Thought McLean & Shinnie very good & thought Hayes & Rooney(again) very bad. Big 3 points though & we really should be safe in 2nd place.
  16. Correct ! couldnt care less about the national side.
  17. Lets get this thing built .
  18. Great performance today on a poor pitch, another disappointing crowd though ,no excuses. Thought the whole back 4 were superb, Considine & Taylorwon every single thing in the air, totally dominant. Hayes,Shinnie,& Jack were all very good &McLean was rightly given m.o.t.m. Referee Steven McLean had another shocker & again looked out his depth. Unfortunately another woeful display from Rooney, offering nothing at all for a while now, needs dropped pronto. Another dominant display against horrible hearts though, pleasing !
  19. Phew ! Didnt see that goal coming, We were not at our best but we persevered & got our just rewards. Hopefully Jonnys shoulder injury isnt too bad. Best player on the park by a country mile, Kenny McLean who seems to be improving week by week.
  20. Flabbergasted that Rooney is still even getting a game, another shocker again today, off the pace, never in right place, no aerial threat, just nothing ! Has to be dropped. Stockley offering far more & mabye worth trying a Stockley/Storey partnership up top.
  21. Imagine if Partick had scored with that last min.header, we would be facing an unwelcome replay, how much would that have flattered them ? Few good saves from Cerny, good keeper.
  22. Regarding Pawlett, used to marvel at him gliding past players with ease, joy to watch, but he did seem to have a fitness issue , if he has sorted that out, i for one would be delighted as i am a big PP fan.
  23. Blimey, that could have been me writing that, agree 100% with all that.
  24. I said to my loon at the start of the season, i thought Adam looked unfit, i still stick by that. For me, he is carrying too much weight & has looked sluggish for a while. I would bench him for a while. I hope he proves me wrong & starts banging them in, nobody would be happier than me.
