  1. I believe so, but he is the messiah, and as such is always right.
  2. Aye, still better than european nights under JC I've always been a fan of John Hughes, baring in mind I only see him 3/4 times a season, it's always quite nice to watch, but over a whole season i'd imagine it'd get tiresome. Still rather have him than Jefferies.
  3. No, he got them years ago.
  4. Well, that's Martin Jol out the running, just got names new Ajax manager. But Van Basten is now in the picture - he's no more rediculous a suggestion that some of the names in this thread...
  5. So, but he considers himself to be Scottish, he's lived here his whole life? Much better than Brazilians playing for any nation that'll take them. Also, S(ky)SN reporting all the British based players called up to the Nigeria squad, except a certain Sone Aluko...
  6. Also, our team is 99% Scottish, with our only foreigner being an English/Nigerian kid. We tried doing the foreign manager thing, and look how that went? Bottom of the league, conceding 4 goals at Hampden...
  7. Yes, I really do. It's not exactly hard for a Championship manager to cherry-pick SPL players? Anyone who gets a decent write-up in the papers, they can pick up for a nominal fee then offer them 4x the wages, how hard can that be? And what about Mulgrew, Miller & McDonald, thats 3 players who left the SPL for the Championship who clearly set the heather alight down south And I don't rate any of these guys being good enough to do this. Numerious players have came to Aberdeen from down south and been surprised by how big and professional the club is, the worst thing we could have right now is a manager who takes a season or 2 to get to grips with the Scottish game, then have a decent season to raise his stock enough to fuck off back to the rich rolling hills of the English lower leagues. Given the choices, i'd rather have somebody who has some history with the Dons, which realistically leaves in the frame: - McGhee - Black - Richardson? - Windass? - Strachan?
  8. Both of them are terrible choices, they know nothing about Aberdeen or Scottish football.
  9. Yeah, I just bumped into the team at Glasgow Airport
  10. Motherwell just had their Europa League place confirmed.
  11. SSN, he was talking with Jim Whyte
  12. True. You knew what I meant though
  13. I am, and don't call me surely! It was a great night on Film4: Airplane Snakes on a Plane Planes, Trains & Automobiles "Guilty Pleasures Night" - happy days
  14. Agreed, I want to see him in Sandy Clarks job, before moving on up to the big seat.
  15. I only got to your first comment when you blamed Calderwood for our poor training facilities
  16. It's Weegie neds isn't it
  17. He's not saying much. Says the board were doubting him. Thanked the fans, wonderful city etc... Didn't think Strachan should have been sacked Man Utd are gonna win the Champions League. I could write for the EE with reporting skills like this.
  18. One of the best games I ever seen Severin play was for Scotland against Bulgaria in the Kirin Cup, he was spraying 40-60 yard passes for fun all afternoon (or morning as it was here). I doubt he'd be able to break into the currrent Scotland team even if he was at the ugly sisters. He's nowhere near good enough to get into our midfield ahead of the likes of Fletcher or Brown, and in defence, i'd rather not split up a defensive pairing who are playing together at club and country, I remember it working well in the mid 80's I say remember, when in all honesty i've only read about it
  19. The whispers going round were saying that Seve had fallen out with the team, as he was one of JC's favourites. I think the biggest reason he's suddenly had a change of heart is that Burnley was the team he had his mind set on, but now he's no longer good enough for them. My biggest worry is that he'll be at United (or maybe Hibs) next season, and having seen his performances when he played his other former club Hearts, he is gonna rip a massive hole in the middle of our team whenever he plays us. I for one hope he stays, as on his day he is an absolute joy to watch.
  20. I'd go for JC Getting sacked, being asked to come back, motivating the team, getting europe. What more could he have done on Sunday?
  21. When we get a better replacement in which unites all the fans
  22. http://www.completesportsnigeria.com/details.php?category=news&id=8281 Another story here, which also mentions his sister is a full England International. But, good on him! I've no doubt in my mind that he's only getting called up as he is UK based, and the game is here, but as it's a friendly it won't stop him playing for England one day (if my understanding of the rules is correct) Does he have a Scottish grand-parent? Also, I read, Powlett is English, he's not eligible to play for Scotland, even though he's been in Aberdeen since he was 5, sad times (potentially)
  23. Interesting reading that, we're 2 shite results against Hamilton away from Hearts over 5 years...
  24. It appears to be just name somebody?
