How many long throws did we take and how many did we win...no idea and zero. And then how many goal-kicks did Roos (and by the way he looks very dodgy when the ball is pumped into the 6-yd box) take to the same quadrant and how many did we win...no idea and zero. What is that cliché about doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for a different outcome? Similarly, how often do I say FFS he'll connect with the first defender whenever Hayes trots across to takes a corner?...every fucking time!
Despite all their "possession" we only conceded 4 fouls whilst their number was 18. 4 fouls for a team that is set up to essentially defend shows how brilliantly disciplined and tactically aware we were. Hate to admit it but the ref (presumably not going out to the lodge tonight) was OK. Oh, and how did Miovski miss that chance?
Thought Morris had his best game for us...came on, only twice lost his man, got in 1 good cross and then got injured (hopefully not trivial) and was subbed off all in 15 mins.
Just really pissed off tonight.
In

Beers somewhere in Livingston as Edinburgh will be heaving (egg-chasers game at Murrayfield KO 3:15)

Beers celebrating still being at the top of the league
Only seen the highlights so far so can't comment on overall standard but the goal NZ scored in the first game was terrific fitba - we won't score a goal like that because whenever we have a goal kick (and most other teams do exactly the same) 20 players make their way to a small area either side of the half-way line and Roos hoofs it hail-Mary style and hope for the best.
Glenda Jackson (87) - superb actress and principled politician. Won 2 Oscars and should have won a Bafta for her portrayal of Cleopatra on the Morecambe and Wise show.
When I was 12 we beat Raith Rovers 10-0 at Pittodrie, would beat them 4-0 in the league at their place but in-between we played them in the cup quarter-final and lost 2-1
The only time I went there was to see them play Bury in the early 70s - the ground was absolutely massive, you could pick your row, never mind your seat. It's a bit smaller nowadays.
Clarkson is certainly as good as James Maddison was for us (his goal today was similar to that one against the huns) There was a break in play after one of his passes and the ref. was clearly saying something complimentary to him. As for the Roos save you mentioned...didn't think at any point that he was going to score, and Roos looked like was asking Main "is that was the best you can do". Roos is another one I fear will be in the radar of other clubs.
Could play Hayes at rwb as he's more two-footed than Coulson.
Jealous that you've got tickets...I've got my train tickets a couple of weeks ago but no match tickets because of the allocation we were given, so will have to see if I can get a refund.
