P&J: Boro poised with big Miller bid
The Doricle replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Ah, well that's unfortunately very much the case these days- don't get me started on the grammar, spelling and lack of proof-reading in it these days. It is at least marginally better than the turgid EE though. In their defence, at least it looked like they'd maybe been arsed by actually getting in touch to ask if he was interested, instead of the lazier 'sources close to the club said.....' malarkey! -
P&J: Boro poised with big Miller bid
The Doricle replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Most of it's pretty true though. Plenty papers were touting boro to be looking at miller. He played pish. Southgate says 'no ta'. I don't see what's poor about it, apart from millers attitude and effort. Would you seriously be interested in signing him after last saturday's showing? I know i wouldn't. -
There's surely no way anyone would pay for him on saturday's showing. What a frustrating, lazy mofo he was then. Can't rememeber him even trying to get a ball half the time, the celtic defenders should be returning their wage for that game as they didn't have to do much. He's annoying enough most of the time with the tumbling over a blade of grass malarkey, and i swear i've never seen him break into a sprint yet, but yesterday i didn';t see an ounce of fight or determination from him. There was at least one break we had, where he should have been pelting into the box, only for him to amble forward at snail's pace and the chance was gone. At least when paton came on we saw a forward that was willing to work. Lee miller can gtf, quite frankly, I'd take any money we can get for him (and mackie and maguire too while we're at it). All this talk of league 1 players lowering the skill level is amusing too, Ifil looked a lot more up for it and skillful than some most of our regulars.

Europa League Qualifying Draw - Friday
The Doricle replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I take it the draw will be live on the uefa website? There's no mention or link to it from the bbc fitba 'europe' section, only a mention of celtic and some other teams waiting for their CL draw. I'm surprised there's no mention of it, since there are some EPL teams entering at this stage aren't there? -
Ewwwwwwwwwww.......

Welcome back Mark, glad this is finally sorted out one way or t'other as it was beginning to drag on and on. Now we just have to wait and see what the next couple of seasons's bring........<crosses fingers>.

You're the second poster in this thread to have either 'EFF EFF ESS sake', or 'FFS sake'- Maybe i'm just an eejit, but does the 'S' not already stand for sake?

I'm not convinced by mcghee at all. As has been said ad nauseum already- always seems to do well the first season at a club, then things slip from there. Happened again with motherwell too, despite just missing out on the top six to hibs. I have been really surprised he was touted for celtic after wee gordy went. I think going for mcghee or black almost shows a lack of ambition by the club in going for easy options of ex-players who would get a lot of support/good will from the fans until things got more difficult. I fully appreciate we are limited by funds etc, but this almost seems to be a fait accompli and I just hope the board are seriously looking at all the cv's that have been sent in to try to find the best choice for the club. This is a really important decision after the club has been stabilised by JC- we must progress a little bit more and not end up with a bad managerial choice and start slipping back into the mire again.

Severin offers to stay for more cash, piss right off
The Doricle replied to redordead's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
When Seve arrived here he was absolutely great to watch, and I can remember being surprised he'd moved to us- having seen him play fantastically well for hearts on numerous occassions in the past i was surprised that hearts let him go and that he hadn't had an offer to head south. Perhaps he went off the boil a bit there too. Still, their loss was our gain at the time. However, his performances have definitely gone downhill, especially since assuming the captain's mantle from Anderson. He still has it in him, but it looks like he needs a change. If he was one of calderwood's favourites then that's a surprise, as i would have expected him to raise his game more often over the last couple of seasons if that was the case! I feel the same way about Seve that i do about Smith- both great players, and they still are on their day, but their consistency has gone a bit for whatever reason. I'll be sorry if he does go, but feel it's possibly best for all concerned if that's what happens. I do think he will be difficult to replace though, so the new manager will have their work cut out there. We're still missing a player of Anderson's calibre after two years. If he'd still been here i think 3rd would have almost been a formality. -
Midweek Scuffle - Kerr in Hospital

Seems the Hearts players want in on the act too. Guess they think this is how clubs with european ambitions should act! Fae the bbc sport pages: -
Dundee United: Will they ever finish above us?

Well done lads <insert slow hand-clap smilie>, could you not have held off getting bleezin’ and getting in fights 'til after Sunday? What is it with fiba players and going out on the lash before, arguably, the most important game they have to play this season? Wonder if anyone else of the other two that're getting charged is from the club too? Re:mizer's posting elsewhere -
According to the fitba gossip bit on bbc site: So no real surprises there. He's a decent player on his game when fit, but we just can't afford to have a player injured so much. So saying, I was gutted we ddin't offer scott booth a pay as you play offer when he came back. He was far and away our best/most creative player when fit. I don't really feel the same about jamie though- he has too little impact most of the time when he is playing these days.

We've had a samsung lcd in the for 3 years or so. Been very happy with it, nice picture quality and absolutely no problems- apart from the screen size! Been working on the missus for a larger one for a fair while now, when the massive old wide-screen telly finally goes badly enough it's a 42" at least. Even better, there's still time to try and convince her that a 47" might not look over-sized in the room yet.......
