He's convinced me, get him in
-
Don’t rule out 1-6-3
-
He was always a driving midfielder with a will to win. Yes, he can be rash in the challenge but that’s part of his will to win and he has a great attitude. Better than a journeyman in my opinion.

I can see there being serious interest in Duk as well.

Albeit I'm happy to see Richardson benched for this one, regardless of who we play at right back our center defense seriously lacks any aggression in the air and that will continue to cost us goals imo
-
My prediction is penalty to Rangers.

A disappointing end to a game in which we struggled all day in the final third due to a generally atrocious final ball. When we scored with 3 minutes remaining that really should have been it but as I've been saying all season, we are a team which cannot defend.

Keep well min

Seems a bit extreme D.O.C, you ok?
-
Goal scorers cost money and I suppose the problem is, who do we bring in who is proven and who costs less? Over to the recruitment team I guess.

Ramirez is a proven goal scorer, and that was when he had virtually no service and I think that if he plays in the current team, he will score goals. To get rid of him and leave us without central striker cover seems a bit short sighted but I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes with him and Goodwin. I like Lopes but from what I've seen we cant rely on him for goals. If Milne is ready and good enough I'm happy but as I've only seen him play in the midfield I just don't know. The fact that Goodwin has utilised McCrorie in the centre of defence doesn't fill me with confidence because McCrorie isn't the answer in that position. I think we need cover and I agree with Rico that it probably has to be a utility player.

I still look at our defence with degree of trepidation. Had LIvi got the goal the first goal they probably deserved in the first half today I'm worried they could have done a Motherwell on us. we were honking early doors and we still have little defensive cover so a defender has to be a priority in my mind.

Agreed re Coulson, he was outstanding today as was Hayes who for his age showed phenomenal. fitness
-
I was also behind the goal that night and it was quite frankly the most horrendously inept display of goalkeeping i have ever witnessed. He was running about his line like Hen Broon >shudders< The fans were howling for him to be subbed. This new boy was on the books at Derby for 8 seasons so surely cannot be in the same category.

Scott Burns reporting that we want him on a permanent deal.
-
You can almost guarantee he’ll go with a similar team and utilise the same tactics so after the performance the other night, I think I’ll avoid this one to try and keep my blood pressure down. oot

That is without doubt one of the worst performances I’ve seen us produce in a very long time. We had zero penetration and were totally devoid of creativity in the final third. This new Glassball, possession for possessions sake with zero end product is excruciating and the worry is that I can’t see how we improve it as it’s been the story for most of the season. Either we don’t have the players or there’s a problem with the coaching as the product is boring to watch and completely ineffectual.
-
Agree with Rico and would add that there’s an element of our support who over the years have labelled our best players as not good enough. I thought Ferguson had a decent game today.
-
Are you forgetting that Ramirez could also spoil things?
-
I’m seriously starting to lose patience with this ridiculous circus we’ve become a part of.
-
Think I just heard Tup's head explode as he read that and started frantically googling what Twitter was.
-
That today is the worst performance Ive seen since McGhee was here. Depressingly woeful with no positives at all. The managers persisitence with the same tactics that were seeing us getting outplayed was deeply worrying and doesnt fill me with conficence moving forward.
-
Playing it out from the back was clearly a team instruction today but the players need to have enough game intelligence to know when not to do it. It was clear today that they don't and it ended up with us being in all types of pressure, in the first half particularly. We were much better in the second half, after Hornby replaced Kamberi, who should never be played as a lone striker. Kennedy and McGinn, who mistifyingly got subbed when he was pulling the strings, are worthy of mention for their second half performances. Overall, a decent 3 points which we sorely needed.

There is a ridiculous notion that persists in some peoples minds that because someone was a hard player or a horrible bastard on the pitch that that somehow how makes them more likely to get the best out of players as they will somehow knock their own attributes into them. Often its the very attributes that they showed on the pitch that makes them unsuited to man management and I say this in direct response to those who would tout guys like Brown as just what the current squad needs to give them a good boot up the arse.
