Would hope there is an option to purchase if he does well. Otherwise we will need to find someone else come summer. Edit: Just read the article. No option to buy which just means we are developing him for Stade Reims which is depressing.

Reckon Anderson will be another one of these youngsters where we just don't know how it would have worked out if he was given a chance. I think managers who have a good track record of bringing through youth do so because they know how to inspire confidence in youngsters and give them opportunities at the right time. I don't see McInnes giving him a proper run before the end of the season and being restricted to five minute cameos at the end of games must become demoralising for youngsters after a point.

Really frustrating to see any of our players going to the Rangers, but I agree with whats been said above. We haven't handled his development well so I'm not really surprised Wright doesn't feel particularly loyal to the club. You never know if a player will choose to wind down his contract but if he had been getting regular games and developing surely it would make him think twice. The worst thing is that at the moment he is making the team tick and is an important part of the attractive game we are trying to play.

I think there is great potential in this squad but its not currently better then the one that pushed Celtic under Deila. I think we are also going to struggle to keep this squad together long enough to fulfill its potential. I can't see most of these guys wanting to stick around for longer than there current contracts.
-
You are jumping the gun though. The manager said the huns are interested. There is nothing to say he will end up there. I'm not going to say he definitely won't go there but until he signs for someone you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
-
Worst case scenario mentioned today is that we are going to swap Wright for Stewart. I'd rather we just bought through a youth player then persist with someone we haven't been able to get the best out of on two previous occasions.

I thought undersoil heating was a requirement for being in the SPFL?
-
Kennedy problem seems to be his final ball. He's good with the ball at his feet, got pace and even seems to have a decent work rate. But all the games I've seen with him I can't recall a single one where he just put the ball on a plate for the striker.
-
Shame about Watkins, his movement is exactly what we need up front. However it would be great if we could identify a player that can do that side of the game well and chip in with more goals as well. Watkins was never really a goalscorer and as much as the football was good with him in the team I feel that to go up a level we need a natural finisher in the team as well. That said I appreciate that it is hard get such a player.

Well - Dons - Xmas eve (kiwi time ;) )

Only managed to get the second half, our final ball was atrocious every time. Motherwell sat in and defended well, but definitely two points dropped there. -
Maybe could have done better there but I think your being a bit harsh. Thats his 8th goal of the season? He's also our best creative player in general at the moment.

I think there is a lot of foreshadowing of these sort of things happening at the moment so I can see why Cormack is probably trying to get us involved and protect our interests. In its current form the proposal sounds pretty horrible to me. I'd be more in favour of scrapping the league cup and having some sort of northern Europe cup, but not the whole league. I don't necessarily think increased European competitions are a bad thing but obviously they will become a closed shop unless there is a more even distribution of the prize money. There was recent BBC survey of fans (only in England) that didn't show great support for a European super cup: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55159249

Helen Mirren vs Lesser depleted Dons
DantheDon replied to manc_don's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Pretty poor form we are in at the moment. Hamilton and St Mirren twice and we come away with two draws and a defeat. I know we are struggling with injurys a bit at the moment but the early season optimism I was feeling has definitely waned. Hopefully just a blip but I could easily see our season turning into a battle from here on in. -
The Forgotten Man - Ronald Hernandez????????
DantheDon replied to SeeBass's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Just repeating what I wrote in the St.Mirren thread as I think it merits further discussion. Hernandez has been a bizarre signing. He cost us reportedly around 800k putting him not far off our record signing and he's a Venezuelan international. Yet he's not even got a sniff of first team action this season. If he really is that much worse than what we have got how can we get a signing that badly wrong? I think probably Forrester had more game time than he has had so far. -
League Cup - Helen Mirren vs Depleted Dons

While we are on the subject of our signing policies. Hernandez has been a bizarre signing. I didn't realise this was an early kick off and with being pretty busy in general I missed it. Like I said in another post I feel failing to beat Hamilton is unforgivable and should mean some of these guys getting moved on, there just stopping youngsters coming through at the moment.
-
Just make it 6-2 with Considine for a double hatrick.
-
If we can't beat Hamilton at the moment I would say some players need to be booted out. The way they have been playing recently I would like to think our second string would have enough to get the job done.
-
Isreal are not a bad team, but we really need to be doing better against these teams. Incredibly frustrating when we've beaten the Czechs twice and again find ourselves behind them in the group. But classic Scotland do the hard work and fail against the smaller teams.
-
We really need to start putting away some of our chances. We get into good positions but the final ball is letting us down. It will be really frustrating but definitely the Scotland way for us to throw this away now.
-
Disappointing result but no doubt we were the better team and created the better chances. As I said above I'm not seeing what McBurnie brings, there were other players guilty of not finishing chances but his two stand out. I think going ahead suited Slovakia but we were very unlucky with the manner of there goal and there goalkeeper made some good stops. We have a chance to put it right against Israel and I'm hopeful with Dykes back in we will get the job done.
-
We are really coming on to a game and if we keep playing like this its still there for us. Its strange to be down at half time supporting Scotland and believe we can come away with something.
-
We shouldn't be losing here. Maybe its just lack of confidence but I'm failing to see what McBurnie brings to this team. If Griffiths was on we would be 2-1 up.
-
I think there Dykes and Fraser are the only 2 there I would say are guaranteed a place. Griffiths probably will get in based on his knack for finding important goals even if he continues to be a bit part player for Celtic. McBurnie, Paterson and Burke places must be up for grabs if someone steps up and starts doing well, even though I think Clark likes McBurnie despite his poor performances so far for Scotland. Considine like you said a couple of injurys and I think hes in, but I suppose Clarke will be watching them all for the next 6 months so if he keeps up the good performances there is every chance either way.
-
Think that's partly due to our performance, I don't remember them winning a cross into our box tonight either. In an attacking sense I think we struggled with Cosgrove not being fit enough, if we had watkins available tonight he would have drawn players away from Wright leaving him with more space to run at Hibs on the counter.
