  1. Anything other then 1 would be incredibly difficult. Even Malmo are no mugs, although I know little about Honved. That said in a one off game anything is possible.
  2. Going back a bit to the Michael Hector situation, I read an article previously where he said that Chelsea was his club, so I'm sure that had a large bearing on him joining them. Obviously for his career it probably wasn't the best move in the end but its easy to say in hindsight.
  3. Have to say I'm pretty astonished at how sensible an approach this is from the SFA. Was expecting them to throw the book at us. They even took into account the more serious nature of Bolingoli's offence and punished accordingly.
  4. Anyone have a link to Considine's comments?
  5. Looks like a bit of a rotation. Its a bit annoying that we have Anderson available but have still chosen to bring in Watkins and start him. There definitely needs to be more emphasis on getting the youngsters into the first team.
  6. A decent result given the lack of forwards and how off the pace we looked. We will need to be better going forward but hopefully that is us back up and running.
  7. Was just away to comment asking if he was an offensive cm. We could probably play a defensive midfield 11 if we wanted now. I really don't get this signing.
  8. While I agree that they were stupid and deserve some sort of punishment Im not sure I like the idea of it being decided retrospectively, as I get the feeling if it were 8 first team players from either of the old firm we would be moving on pretty quickly. I would hope the club has already disciplined them via fines to their wages or such like. If there were previously agreed sanctions of course I would accept them being applied, as they would apply equally to all clubs. Its something the ever competent SPFL failed to set out though.
  9. I don't think Gleeson was a terrible player he had a couple of good games but it did seem he lacked the engine (perhaps just because he was never properly fit). I think failed to live up to the expectations a lot of fans especially as its speculated he was bought in on a decent wage. The general consensus seems to be that we should be doing better in transfers, McInnes has really struggled to re-build the squad over the last few seasons.
  10. I think Harvie left because of the lack of game time, apparently him and Shankland were buddies and that is why they both ended up at Ayr. From what I've heard McInnes wanted to keep them both. I hope with Cosgrove and Main being out Anderson can take his chance this Saturday.
  11. I think a lot will depend on the Cosgrove and McKenna situations. Of course we could end up selling Cosgrove and Bruce Anderson might step in and do even better based on his pre-season form. But I'm just not sure how things will go at the moment.

  13. I agree with Rocket that I would have liked to see Shinnie play at left back for us. At the time when he came in it was the position that needed filled although I think the best approach is probably somewhat flexible. I also think its undeniable that Jack is a technically better player. I don't necessarily see that Shinnie or Jack jobs were to be creative though, as they are defensive midfielders it was the wingers and the guy in front (Hays, McGinn, Maclean) who where our creative players. Sure it would be great if they could play those defense splitting passes that you were talking about, but if they could they would both be playing at a higher level then they are.
  14. Surely if B teams are going to be involved it should be for teams who haven't played in the lower leagues recently and have never been relegated.
  15. In most cases it was completely inadequate anyway. Now its been shown to be irrelevant even in the minority of cases where it was supposed to apply. Really wish UEFA would get some balls and turn football back into a sport rather than just a business.
  16. To a degree it still applies though, I get that they may be trying to drive the price down in negotiations but the amount of times clubs fail to get these deals over the line because its last minute. Plus you would think if bids had been being made over the last few weeks Cosgrove would have been aware and had time to make a decision on what he would do if an agreement was reached. Anyway I'm not sad that hes staying we need his goals and its not like the funds will be used to strengthen the team.
  17. Its strange how clubs leave there bids till the very last minute. I know it suggests that he wasn't there first target but you would think they could at least make there mind up a few days before the window shut.
  18. Wouldn't say hes the forgotten man yet. He wasn't fit before but I hope once things get back to normal he will do well for us.
  19. I voted Cosgrove but I have to say Andy deserved it. Its easy to overlook defenders, but he has really came on to a game in the last few seasons. The good thing is, as he has never been particularly blessed with pace he doesn't have anything to lose as he gets a bit older. He can hopefully keep it up well into his mid 30's and who knows how many appearances he can rack up. I disagree with the Ferguson goal being goal of the season. I voted for Vyners and thought that stood out well above the rest. Perhaps a lot of people didn't want to vote for a player who had only been with us for 6 months though.
  20. Think that depends on us aswell. If we do manage to actually qualify for a European competition and start pushing at the top of the league again there is no reason he couldn't keep developing here for another few years.
  21. Did he not win championship player/goalkeeper of the season at Falkirk one year? I always got the impression that he was rated highly and he would be the successor to Joe Lewis when he moved on. Pretty sure when he signed on Lewis was being linked with Aston Villa, so the management must have thought there was a chance he wouldn't be with us and Rodgers would get a chance to break into the team. Obviously Lewis has stuck around and intimated that he will be here for the long haul, so the situation has changed. He might still do ok and I'm sure based on the successful loans he has had he will get fixed with something at scottish championship or a low level English side.
  22. I don't believe the clubs ambition at the moment is to win the league, but I think that's another discussion. Whatever your opinion on that, I don't think that bringing Jonny back is incompatible with winning the league. He is still a good player and would be a good influence within the squad.
  23. Part of the problem with Scottish Football is that most fans don't want to support there local team. They usually choose one of the old firm and it has a detrimental impact on the smaller clubs. Even up here the amount of locals that support Rangers, if they supported Aberdeen you would think our attendances would be better.
  24. The collar looks daft on the home kit, If it wasn't shaped that way I think it would be alright. I kinda want to like the away kit but I agree with the previous poster about the sponsor panel ruining the look.
  25. Ideologically that sounds nice but I can't see it working due to competition for players from the leagues down south. I don't know how the NFL draft works exactly so if I've got it totally wrong please correct me. But if your a promising Scottish youngster and you have the option to go into a draft system where you could shine and yet end up playing for Hamilton or you got the option to join a mid sized championship club I'd imagine you'd take the latter. I presume it works in the NFL because there are no other competing leagues and because every club there is of a decent size.
