  1. Weegie De Gea deserved it. Absolutely shocking manager. A Highland team should not be employing a nasal whining weegie as their manager. Hopefully a lesson learned for McGregor
  2. The English league is wide open. It's the best example in Europe of a fair sporting competition. Mainly because all the teams get the same money to begin with. It is structured in such a way that fairness is built into the money distribution. That is not the case in Scotland. The vast majority of the cash finds it's way to two teams up here. Even with that in mind, one of those clubs collapsed with debts ranging anywhere from £70-£350m depending on who you believe. Despite this obvious crime against our game, they were allowed to start back up again the following day, as if nothing happened. I'm afraid 2012 exposed epic corruption at the SFA. The English FA has no such problems. It's not enough for us to say all other leagues are in the same boat. Some of them are, but I've yet to see fraud perpetrated in this way elsewhere, apart from in Italy, where the clubs were heavily punished and the cuplrits jailed. No such sanction here. What we are still watching is a fraud. The underlying issue (cheating) was never addressed. Hence it continues. Celtic and new Rangers continue to carve up our league for their own benefit, to the total detriment of the other 40 clubs. I'm actually astounded it's now tolerated after what happened in 2012, but propaganda trumps truth in this country, hence the Aberdeen chairman has never mentioned this obvious problem since he came in.
  3. The question to be asked of Cormack and this dubious plan is, is the purpose of football to make money, or to provide healthy sporting competition? He and a number of other chairmen have lost sight of the point of their job. It's to provide fans with entertainment, in the form of a fair and healthy domestic league. Not to make profit by whatever means necessary. No wonder Scottish football is such a laughing stock. Naked greed and corruption has ruined us. He fails to recognise this and comes up with dodgy plans to make things even more unfair than they are already.
  4. This Atlantic league nonsense has always been a bad idea and that has not changed. Sort our domestic league out and the fans will come back. If it stays as it is now, we're fucked. Huns have had McLean and Dallas as refs in last two games, albeit Dallas got himself injured in the warm up the other night. They basically have their own supporters refereeing their games. Cormack needs to tackle that rather than airy fairy nonsense about Atlantic leagues.
  5. Who pays for this? This is also deeply concerning. These guys have been paid several million pounds of taxpayers money, basically in compensation for being subjected to rabid hunnery from both Police Scotland and the Crown office. So it proves that if you upset these huns enough, the full force of both the law and the judiciary will be thrown at you. This sort of proves how deep all the corruption runs. It's like Northern Ireland used to be in the 70's.
  6. I feel for McInnes because what is always overlooked is that old Rangers were a bunch of cheats (EBT scandal), and now new Rangers are also cheating in a similar manner, albeit not blatantly tax evading on this occasion. But the outcome is the same, spending money they don't have in order to lord it over everyone else. If Aberdeen spent and made a loss of £18m, I'd expect us to be challenging for the title too. Yet nobody points out this obvious elephant in the Scottish football room. It gets ignored. In fact, it almost gets encouraged. So called small teams are meant to be grateful for the crumbs thrown to them by these self appointed giants of our game. I can remember when both sides had less than 10k at home games so this cheating, and subsequent hegemony, started around 1986. The Scottish premier league was a winnable competition for other teams outside this duopoly up until that point. Dave Cormack is of particular disappointment on this issue. He's never mentioned it. If more teams stood up to this crap, and called it out for the corruption it is, it would quickly crumble.
  7. I'm no fan of English football, but one thing they don't do is put any team on a pedestal, let alone two like we do in Scotland. If you constantly promote two teams, to the detriment of all others, then those two teams will constantly come out on top. That's what we do in Scotland. There is zero semblance of fairness or objectivity. It's built into all conversations about our game. So St Mirren were being patronised big time before the game last night on Sportsound, to the extent that I had to switch off. I'm glad they won. The football media in Scotland are a complete disgrace, and are responsible for this shambolic duopoly stretching back 35 years. It's going to be 350 years no bother at this rate. Scottish football is completely pointless.
  8. Not recently he doesn't. He did OK against them when they were a complete shambles who had just emerged from the Championship. Now he's back to total deference. He's even buying their fringe players to help them out. Who of course can't play when we play them, which is appalling and would not happen in England. We got the same raw deal with Christie. Goodwin actually talked about winning the game before KO last night, how refreshing. We put 5 at the back and hope for the best.
  9. Goodwin proves that keeping the full backs quiet is the key to beating this average hun team. Unlike McInnes, who probably looks for Gerrard's autograph before his team folds like a cheap suit against this disgusting club.
  10. Come on St Mirren, put them to the sword.
  11. Nobody deserves it more.
  12. Breaking the law again They're under investigation by the competition watchdog, I'd imagine for grossly overpricing the dodgy badly made strips. Running at a loss of £18m should also be under investigation. But this is accepted as the norm in our weird and completely corrupt league. You never hear a peep from Dave Cormack about any of this stuff so he either hasn't a clue, or doesn't care. We are seeing financial doping happening in our game right in front of our eyes and nobody says a word.
  13. Huns at the criminal activity again with the replica shirts. Factor in that they are cheating on an industrial scale again, and we are back in EBT land. No FFP in Scotland though. I think the Scottish Premier League might just be the most corrupt sporting competition on earth.
  14. Aye, the company which bought Celtic and Rangers games only in the Scottish Cup. The duopoly we have will go on forever under the current setup since most of the money is funnelled upwards to 2 teams. Corruption in other words.
  15. Directors never know much about football. Capitalism is his game, which makes me mistrust him slightly. He’s enthusiastic I’ll give him that.
  16. It's a pity the TV deal in Scotland wouldn't collapse, given it's what ruined our league in the first place.
  17. He looks a half decent player but there's never been a Venezuelan success story in Scottish football, and likely never will be. Same as there's no young Scots blazing a trail in South America. We should concentrate on recruiting mainly Scottish players with a potential resale value.
  18. Aye, Dave Cormack. He's enthusiastic, and has a set of teeth that could eat neeps through a venetian blind, but he doesn't really have a clue about football. Nor do any of these other Atlanta dudes. It's actually a sad day for our once proud game when we are taking advice on it from Americans. Let's not forget they are and always have been terrible at football.
  19. This should be the first and last time we let these clueless yanks tell us who to sign.
  20. Well there's a rule in England which specifically prevents a referee from officiating a match which involves his home town team. In Scotland, the exact opposite applies. The more connections you have, the more qualified you are. Hence we have Ibrox season ticket holders with whistles in their mouths pretending to be objective. If the same rule was applied in Scotland, half these chancers would have to retire.
  21. Gerrard says 'no elbow'. Ah well, that's fine then. He kens fine it's a red. A more blatant red you'd struggle to find. What we are watching in Scotland is not really a sporting competition, it's a fraud. Referees should be sourced from all over Scotland but most of them come from one area and are incredibly biased.
  22. Stewart played quite well on Saturday for a crap team so he would be a good signing.
  23. Think you’re being pretty harsh on Main, he’s not that bad. He also looks 100% fit so deserves to keep his place for the next game. His 2nd goal yesterday was a great bit of movement. He’s never really had a proper run in the team so it’s difficult to judge him properly until he gets a few consecutive games. I’m a fan of his all action style, he makes life difficult for the centre halves and that’s his job.
  24. The referee's brother, Brian McLean, used to play for the huns. He shouldn't be allowed to referee hun games, a more blatant supporter with a whistle you'd struggle to find. He reminds me of Mike McCurry with his cheating, totally shameless.
  25. Main was doing well last season when he replaced Cosgrove. The problem with Cosgrove is that we seem to revert to an awful style of football when he's there. When Watkins was in the team, we played the ball to feet in the forward areas, and this allowed Hedges and Wright in particular to shine. We seem to go agricultural with Cosgrove. Add in the fact that he was about 70% fit and you get the kind of terrible football we played recently. I'd just go with Main for now and see if we can sell Cosgrove in January. The guy who did the 'race for 3rd' interview on Red TV after the game, Shinie I think, should get the bullet for that kind of chat.
