Miller and Lovell have had spells in the SPL with other clubs when they have looked liked cracking forwards and regular goal scorers. The question has to be asked what has happened to them? Miller is arguably having a decent season but he is not contributing enough goals. What has happened to these guys? Is it their own attitude? Is it down to Jimmy squared and their stooge Sandy?
The form of the team of late has been very poor and it has led me to question the leadership of the team for the first time in Calderwood's tenure.
Anybody read any of Oliver James's work? I'm awaiting delivery of 'The Selfish Capitalist - the origins of Affluenza' on the back of seeing him interviewed. He seems to talk a fair bit of sense.
I think somebody said it in the Caldwood stalemate post - if we can survive Fergie farking off then we can sure to hell survive Calderwood jacking it. Calderwood is a competent manager; he is certainly no management genius. Granted it is early days but Motherwell have proven that there are decent managers who can get a team playing good attacking football on a budget of next to feck all. IMHO my worry is that the press conference reveals that Jimmy is staying on.
It was interesting to read that McGhee has conceded the league title to the Old Firm on the BBC site. Has Calderwood ever conceded the League title before? As in, has he ever stated that it was his ambition to win the league before? Unrealistic? Maybe, but it was still refreshing to to hear a manager talk about finishing first or second and not just going for 3rd place.
I think Calderwood is a competent manager at best and it is probably the best time for him to get a move to a mediocre English club that he craves as rebulding the Dons could set him back a couple of years.
I was in the South Stand and in all the years of going to Aberdeen Rangers games I have to say that was the worst atmosphere I have sampled. Probably a lot to do with how crap Aberdeen were that day.
...Michael Laudrup, Preben Elkjaer, Hans Christian Anderson, Lars von Trier, Aqua, The Little Mermaid, King Hamlet, Thumbelina, Stig Tofting, Queen Margethe II..... your team took one hell of a beating!
It was Alex Miller who conducted that abysmal piece of business min. I met Ebbe a couple of times and he is a top top bloke. I have to agree though that he just didn't get the results.
Completely and utterly agree. Did you see the way they ran back in to the dressing room at half time with the adrenelin pumping away mental style. The way the chased the ball down from kick off. If the current lot played with even half of that amount of passion you would certainly see more people turn up to watch them. I don't think it is boring football that is keeping folk fae turning up just now, or certainly not the biggest factor - I think it is missing passion on the field.
