  1. I think it's highly unlikely Calderwood walks - and if he does, I hope the club would sue him for any additional costs it has in trying to replace him, seeing as he is under contract to us. As for the players, I hope they are reading the papers and watching the news and have come to realise that all is not well in the financial world and that perhaps they need to be a bit more realistic in their terms. Smith, for one, if he gets a new contract, it should be minimum guaranteed money and then made up to whatever agreed level with bonus and incentives for actually playing or even being fit enough to play. I'd offer both Severin and Mair new contracts, they're both ok as CBs. Severin needs to be told he's no longer a midfielder. Mair is not as bad as many on here like to claim he is. He's not the most talented or skillful, but he's not completely inept either.
  2. Man City, Multi-millionaire owner, Mark Hughes, jacket, shoogly nail.
  3. I see Samuel Etoo has managed to bag over 30 goals himself already this season.
  4. How about Eueopean football, no more 3 5 2 and JC's not allowed to use nicknames or the adjective "Big" in any more of his press interviews/conferences. I'd vote for that.
  5. And I can corroborate Dave_min's bet with you as well. Have to admit I wish we'd taken you up on the five thousand quid bet that we'd win the Scottish Cup now.....
  6. You said you'd give me a thousand pounds if Aberdeen weren't second in the league by April. Honest, you did.
  7. No thanks, I wouldn't touch that poisoned chalice with a 10' bargepole. Thanks for the offer tho'.
  8. Just spent the last 90 odd minutes watching one the most enjoyable games I've seen in ages. Villareal v Arsenal - slick passing, great off the ball movement and beautiful touches and control, and as bobo said adebayor's goal outstanding ! It's games like that that remind why I love football despite seeing the pish the Dons serve up on a routine and regular basis. Makes me glad my sister lives in deepest Englandshire and has an arsenal fan for a b/f . He's taken me to the Emirates a few times.... I'm sure our new stadium will rival it
  9. I've not believed it for some time - as my bet with Jager shows. I'm all for an air of positivism and optimism emanating from Pittodrie - I just wish the play backed up the words. Or as the banner said - "All Talk, No Bottle"
  10. Montana makes a very sensible statement. I'm sliding so deeply into apathy that I no longer really care who manages us.
  11. we're playing pish. 4836 attendance.
  12. prick Young Just spluttering about his "exclusive rumour" that there was going to be a banner calling for McGhee to be the next Dons manager........ Ultras unfurl their banners. " Prove you want Europe" and " Come on you red".. You could almost hear the disappointment in chick's voice.
  13. You can never tell with JC, but radio guys definitely called it 3 5 2 and read the defence out with just the 3 names.
  14. Diamond not playing. ankle injury in training yesterday 3 5 2
  15. How about a selection of banners instead of JC's next team talk?
  16. Some of his points are indeed valid and fairly well expressed. However, his opening line shows he has a complete lack of understanding of our feelings towards him, the lank haired, horse faced git.
  17. Going by the stats, JC's half time team talk seems to have had completely the wrong effect.
  18. I think the lottery bit seems to come in when the keeper happens to dive the same way as the ball is going. It really gets my goat when commentators say what a great pen it was, when if the keeper had jumped left instead of right, it would suddenly have become a terrible pen. If it trundles in because the keeper went the other way, that doesn't make you a great penalty taker, it just makes you lucky. On the other hand, if you practice taking penalties regularly, (especially prior to a game where there's a chance you might actually have to take five) that has to be considered a sensible training routine.
  19. At least WM isn't directly blaming the fans for the depression around Pittodrie. I agree the place can be a a bit less than uplifting, but the old argument still stands " who's job is it to create the excitement? The players or the fans?
  20. Anyone know why they've painted over all the graffitti murals on the stairways of the RDS? Was there for the East Fife game and was gone on Sat.
