Yes to start with but if more people went to a more competitive league then tv would sure as hell be part of it. You need to look at the long term when the old firm have gone You have to ask why prices at firhill are £17 maybe its what they need to break even as there is less fans now due to them staying at home watching the English premier league every day prices would come down because 1 the share of money would be evenly split and might allow teams to do the odd deal 2 more people would eventually go to games in a competitive league (might take a few years ) 3 provincial clubs would not have to compete with the old firm and could cap wages better 4 no old firm (and lets face it they will fuck off first chance they get anyway so lets have it on our terms and not theirs) we can see what will happen they will fuck off but try and leave reserve sides in the premier league so they can still claim the lions share of tv money from here as well I know that with having gone to thousands of games myself that for a start without the old firm it would seem suicide (tv, no real big games, no atmosphere, rivarly etc etc but i think for the long term good of Scottish football it will be good. All my sons support the dons but other kids on my street support rangers, celtic, man utd and chelsea etc (why is this it must be down to tv because they don't go to the games) I have said what i think i respect some of you don't agree but i will never set foot in any 10 team league -this is not the answer Also what plonker came up with the idea of showing games on a Monday night

Without the old firm prices might come down and tv money can be distributed evenly instead of the way it is now and we might find our own level (because of the old firm they were all operating above their means) Its a never ending circle with the old firm getting more money so they get better players and are therefore more successful and therefore are on tv more and so attract more fans. Would spain or italy or any other nation allow another league from outwith their own league getting at least 5 times the tv coverage as theirs gets. as someone said before tv and the prices has ruined scottish football ie as you said bobby who is going to pay £20 quid to watch hamilton v st mirren when man utd v chealsea is on the box I remember there was a rule a few years back that games could not be shown when there were scottish games being played why cant they bring that back.

They might be watching these other leagues because our own league is not competitive enough with the old firm monopoly. And having it as the only league available on Scottish TV will make it better ie young kids will be brought up watching Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs and so on instead of Arsenal and Chelsea etc and then they will go to games involving the teams they watch putting more money into Scottish football which must make the game better in the long run. kids are influenced by TV why do you think there are so many rangers/celtic supporters around here that have never been to a game in their life

To start with maybe but if we insisted on the Scottish league being shown on TV and not so much other leagues it would be more competitive. To start with we would all think its crap but as new fans get involved they will know nothing else and i am sure it will improve the Scottish game. Remember they are going to go anyway first chance they get. but knowing the SFA/SFL they would allow the old firm to field reserve teams in the league and once again we would have to bow to the old firm.

I just wish the old firm would piss of to England or somewhere. Then we could have a competitive 16 team league playing each other twice After a few years more would return to the game as there wont be the same monopoly Also money could be dished out evenly and i am sure the TV money would follow. btw a league of 10 teams for me is playing each other far to much and it became tired when it was on the go before.

I think its all been a big stitch up with the media same as the wikileaks saga etc but thats what happens if you take on the Murdoch press (although he is guilty of some things would the man on the street have been pursued for it I dont think so ) Some companies/governments just have to much control now.
