  2. 10th October 1903 The newly formed Aberdeen 'A'team make their debut at Pittodrie Park in a friendly win over Citadel of Inverness. Barron & Wilson scored the goals. So BigAl was Barron any good?

Saw the trailer for the yankee remake of 'Old Boy'. Can't say I'll be rushing out to see that one Fear it has received the same treatment as 'Get Carter'

Went to see 'Filth' last weekend Having not read the book I went into it with no expectations or any idea other than what the UK trailers suggested. For me as with 'It's all gone Pete Tong' it is being completely mis-sold it. There are some funny bits but the trailer seemed to imply it was almost a laugh a minute tale of drugs & debauchery akin to 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as opposed to a very dark tale of destruction'. The international trailer tells it a bit more like it is. Supposed I should have known better given it is Irvine Welsh. McAvoy was very good though...as was David Soul
  5. Up there with yon Michael Jordan 'Last Shot' picture perhaps?
  6. In/oot: Oot Prematcher: Dublin Match: Dublin (some leprechaun museum apparently ) Postmatcher: Dublin Prediction: 1-0 County
  7. Still think Billy Dodds's equaliser should have been voted goal of the tournament
  8. And the previous five '5 year business plans'
  9. Keeps you warm in summer, Cool in winter and guaranteed seagull shit & sea salt adhesion. I do wonder what is going to happen to the listed historic Wurlitzer organ from the old theatre that Jumping jacks were meant to restore and reinstall in their club but seemingly went missing
  10. Did Sepp Blatter not get a serious amount of flack for a similar suggestion?
  11. In/oot: Hopefully In (looking good so far) Prematcher: Car Match: Away end Postmatcher: Car Predition: 2-0 Dons (so thats us fucked now)
  12. I heard there was a hard tackle in that game
  13. I remember sitting in an New Zealand interent cafe listening to that last one. Shite game made even more shite with Jamie Smith missing a Penalty. The only good thing was a glitch in the Cafe's system so although the computer had logged off the audio was still coming through the headphones meaning i got to listen to most of the 2nd half for free. I recall the 1995 one too as I was sent into a panic to find out Snelders wasnt in goal as is wife had gone into labour about 2hrs before kick off. My faith in Michael Watt diminished further when well scored first. MIssed the equaliser as MW coverage in the highlands was (and still is shocking) but managed to tune in for Inglis winner.
  14. Was also limping for a short spell after slipping trying to be a bit clever. 1st goal - Close range shot from shaughnessy after long throw in wasnt dealt with 2nd goal - very decent IMO. Deep cross to back post, headed back to the penalty spot and smith half volleyed the shot into the ground and past the keeper. Hayes missed a one on one with the keeper before we scored and Langfield had a great save when we were caught on the counter attack.
  15. Thank fuck someone has their shooting boots on tonight
  16. Given what my dad said he witnessed in the couple of weeks he was 'trapped' in Dubai (Ash cloud 2011) that article doesn't surprise me at all. Stories of horrific treatment/ slavery of migrant workers (Construction, hospitality and servants to the wealthy) from Philipines, bangladesh, Nepal etc in the middle east are all too common and it will continue until either the oil runs dry or the west finds an alternative source whereby and the middle east's silly rich mans toy economy will fade to collapse. If the yanks and Russians start plundering the Arctic that might be sooner than they think.
  17. I am enjoying hearing the complaints from the club officials. 'ooh this is short notice, how can you do this to us?' 2 months ago they were told the site was being put up for sale and yet they didnt do anything Bit like being told your landlord is planning to sell the flat you rent then getting arsey with the new owners when they turn up and tell you to fuck off
  18. That lawyer is classic. Yes we agree my client was speeding but 83mph isnt excessive and given he manages the tic byraway he should only get a 2 week ban say....about the end of May when he is on holiday?
  19. Really should have entered my signature
  20. Statto time The last time we went 3 years without the old firm winning the league cup was between 1953 and 1955 East Fife, Hearts & Aberdeen were the winners. That was during a 7 year run of non old firm winners (East Fife x 2, Dundee x 2, Motherwell, Hearts, Aberdeen)
  21. We are fucked
  22. Player Name: Goals:Niall McGinn3Scott Vernon1Jonny Hayes1Willo Flood1Mark Reynolds1Peter Pawlett1Josh Magennis1Calvin Zola-Makongo1 Third best defence and attack in the league
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJtX52D3CeA Most 'compact' world cup ever? Water taxis? One of their Vids even has 'just 30mins from Bahrain suggesting they are relying on their neighbours to take up the accommodation slack. German, English, Polish, Russian, Dutch, Italian, Turkish etc all within 1-2hrs of each venue in hot confined areas getting hassled by local plod when found to be drinking in public squares etc? Well they all get on so well nothing can go wrong there. Im starting to look forward to it
  24. Has anyone got the actual details of their bid other than these new fancy stadiums which they will apparently be flogging off to Africa afterwards? Qatar is a 1/7th the size of Scotland with population of about 2million (only 250k citizens apparently. The rest are foreign workers) with about 70% of that living in one city. Their planned stadium capacity for the tournament is just over 600k (Almost 1/3 of the population) They will need to have Hotel rooms for about double if not more than that aswell as restaurants, transport infrastructure all built with cheap foreign 'slave' labour. Wonder how they will handle 20-30000 England fans invading their country plus how many other thousand dutch, german, french, italians etc The place is going to be a ghost town akin to those recession hit developments in Spain come March 2023
  25. Presume they will also be paying FIFA's legal bills when the Australians, Japanese, Yanks etc take turns to sue them
