This is a country where you can buy a machine gun at a trade show and not even be checked to make sure you don't have a history of armed robbery or murdering people. You could walk into the yank equivalent of B&Q and buy several crates if TNT and they wouldn't bat an eyelid

Banners and flags. Fuck sake Banners and flags do not make people want to come to the match. infact they piss off a fair amount of people who dont want their view blocked because you want to wave yer flag. If they went to AFC and suggested they give up space a stand which is still reasonably populated and visible on TV so the ultras and co to lay giant banners over seats then they need their heads examined Shut the RDU for a full season (thats right not even open it up for celtic games as we never get more than 15000 for them these days). Move the family section into the main stand and open up the merkland to the apparent 'hardcore'. Lower roof, closer to the pitch and no suits to break up any pockets of noise. Banners etc are optional. RDU has roughly the same capacity as the Merkland end and but does not need the same level of stewarding because of its layout (no stair towers etc). As BTR said this makes financial sense until such time as some magical solution is found that will see the fans hammering on the ticket office doors for the 3050 seats lying empty up the stairs. As for the blue meanies? who cares what they think. Get our own house in order first

Please lets not go down that road again

Matters not Welsh clubs have been in the english league since its formation. Only reason they are all still not was FIFA's threat to remove the Welsh national team from world cups as they didnt have their own league. Some welshies then volunteered to join it while others did not. Cardiff, Swansea etc cant represent wales in the UEFA competitions. Only way Cardiff etc would be kicked out of the English set up would be for wales to gain independence from the UK or for them to be completely liquidated and reform. But of course that doesn't matter to the plastics and the blue meanies

Major Restructuring in the Pipeline for SPL

Gilmour threatening legal action allegedly. i wonder if I should be worried -
Not sure but has anyone questions how easy it is for yanks etc to get hold of high explosives. I know its fairly easy to put together a bomb from household chemicals etc but Im pretty sure that in certain states you can purchase dynamite, small landmines, hand grenades, semtex etc just as easy as buying a machine gun. I wonder if someone will suggest all marathon runners should carry guns in future races?

Major Restructuring in the Pipeline for SPL

cant recall but a club that worked its way up through the league system without relying on tv money, has one of the best youth academies in uk football and lives within its means thanks to a chairman who asked why the current leagues cannot be maintained but with a fairer share out of the cash and playoffs in each division as opposed to a club that has somehow gone from debt free with a brand new stadium in 2009 to being apparently on the brink thanks to the actions of its current board who let us not forget have had rumours about links with green, whyte etc ever since the blue meanies went tits up. I seriously doubt St Mirrens fans were consulted at all -

I seriously doubt Ross County have anything to do with Green & Co St Mirren's board on the other hand........ -
Given the security at the 2010 London marathon and the level of paranoia the Americans appear to have I'm wondering how this sort was allowed to happen? In saying that I seem to remember there being more security at the forfar vs aberdeen cup tie that there was at the Colorado Avalanche vs Minnesotta wild ice hockey match

tennents pissed off with them now sponsorship to be pulled? -
Suggests to me that it is ll down to losing the opportunity for bumper away crowds from Celtic, and for some clubs the dons, Hibs & hearts. Really poor way to work you finances if yer relying on the league being kind with regards to your home matches and your team making the top 6 or being in a relegation battle in the bottom The whole meaningless fixture argument is void for me. That will happen no matter what the league structure is and a quick look at the bottom 6 shows there are 15 meaningless games between now and May (unless st Mirren lose 5 and dundee win 5) Without the split there would still be the draw of climbing as high as possible (still an outside chance of 3rd for hibs, dons and killie) but apart from the edinburgh derby I cant see any game away from celtic park getting 10000 fans (if that). Did Ross County, Arabs and Caley budget for not getting another visit from the dons? Did the arabs budget for one less dundee derby? etc etc Until the day someone slaps a few heads and says 'this financial system aint working. Downsize accordingly and stop thinking yer a big deal in world football' i predict it will only get worse.

rhetorical question was a similar threat dished out to the blue meanies last season for say 'NOT PAYING DUNFERMLINE' their share of ticket money?

1-0 PSG what price them holding on for the next 30mins?

The element of neds in the partick support suprised me (which considering where their stadium it shouldnt) Last minute equalizer and the fans from the opposite corner ran along the concourse, broke down the advertising hoarding and invade the pitch. Couple of them were playing the big man with the queens fans but others were also targeting the Queens players. Noticeable lack of Cops in the stadium too. Counted a total of 1 begind the goal with the queens fans.

I suspect it has something to do with Celtic wanting their first match to be a home game but with the blue meanies also playing at home that weekend Strathclyde Police aint exactly keen on the extra overtime

30000 turned up at Hampden to see them scrap a 1-0 against the leagues only Amateur Club back in December 19000 of them have gone AWOL for today's 4-1 win. Anyone taking bets on how many will turn up at Ibrox for the upcoming Clyde & Peterhead games? -

So did Barcelona in the last round. Personally I was pissed off the ref didn't start dishing out yellow cards to the Barcelona team for the way they hounded him when he didn't stop play for the 2 Barcelona boys running into each other and then seemingly demanded PSG give the ball back to them rather than take the resulting corner. Really hope PSG stuff them in the 2nd leg
