  1. ill give you euro 2004 but Ninian & millenium miles apart? http://g.co/maps/h8udh
  2. what Fail to qualify from our group but get let in when another country descends into civil war and then win the tournament when its being hosted by Sweden? You cant have 2 stadiums in the same city let alone next door to each other (Ninian and Millenium stadium)
  3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18069127 Supposedly we need to put forward 10 stadiums to declare a bid but all 3 nations have the same problem. Too many stadiums in the same city and pretty poor transport infrastructure. Id see the current choices as Murrayfield Hampden Millenium Stadium Aviva Stadium Expanded White rock stadium 5 others from where though? New Stadiums in Dundee & Aberdeen? New Stadiums in Wrexham & Aberystwyth? New Stadiums in Cork, Limerick & Galway ?
  4. Almost as good as Michael Thomas in 1989
  5. I know of a building & grounds in a decent area perfect for residential or a hotel which 4 years ago would have been valued at close to 2.5million but now the owners have been told £200,000 and there is still no one wanting to buy it. Ibrox is certainly not a 'good' area in the eyes of a developer so the only residential possibility would be social housing (Currenlty fucked by Government cuts). It is surrounded by empty commercial units so that rules out another business park. Retail or leisure park would be a non starter. Basically the only uses for that land at the moment are a football stadium or a supermarket. Sainsburys and waitrose wont touch it, There is already an Asda round the corner and morrisons & tesco are apparenlty 'in trouble'. Essentially the land is almost worthless in the current financial climate so 8million could be more than enough.
  6. Have to look at the quality of the penalty kicks and I put Theo's save as one of the greatest Penalties saves of all time. These days either the goalkeepers have dramatically improved or the top players cant handle the pressure mounted on them to score from 12 yards. Its almost a special skill It could be down to the excessive coverage of the game but I seem to recall a penalty being saved or missed as being almost headline news. Now it seems to be a regular occurrence
  7. 50million would build the original art centre/ cafe design and leave 35million in change for some decent landscaping, lighting, perhaps a new bridge or 2 to Belmont street, and maybe even chuck whats left over at the Castlegate
  8. Same Masochistic tendency that still sees me occasionally turn up at Dons games. Raised in Kennedy land. I point blank refuse to ever vote for the Tories, Labour, or UKIP. The socialists contradicted themselves in their manifesto The christian party pledged to breed hate The union party pledges didnt add up for me No idea what 'Glasgow First' were going to do but I suspect it was to prioritise the city at the expense of the country as a whole so no deal.
  9. Charlie Mulgrew named player of the year James Forrest named young player of the year At least Derek Adams took Manager of the year ahead of Lennon
  10. Danny Alexander is extremely unpopular up north (almost loathed if you speak to certain folk). If the seats merge then Kennedy is off and the SNP will walk into the Highlands at the next general election
  11. Same for me. People behind the desks looked almost panicky when myself and an elderly couple walked in at the same time.
  12. yep it would appear 3 of the people i stuck down on the ballot got a seat. Should have twigged that 'scotland for marriage' was in fact 'the christian party' The deathnail of the lib dems in scotland will be if Charles kennedy retires from 'Ross, Skye & Lochaber' and heads to the house of lords. Without him they will automatically lose the Highlands at the next General Election which could mean they go 4th behind the tories
  13. Lib dem, green and the 2 SNP blokes got my votes (not revealing the order) The only leaflets I had through the door were from the Tories, The Union party and 'scotland for marriage' - PR really does let some fuckwits start a party. I was handed a leaflet by the socialists outside Partick station and a lib dem reluctantly handed me one outside the polling station (all too happy to hand it to the pensioners in front of me but apparenlty he didnt think I was worth it ) It appears my votes had no bearing on the result since Labour once again romped to victory in Glasgow.

The lack of tarmaced drives and custom made suits?
  15. Cant comment on your experience Dave but during my final year of uni I was wandering the corridors looking at the final presentations of the 1st & 2nd years. The tutors etc were bragging on about how proud they were and yet all I saw was laziness and severe lack of effort from both parties. That was in the space of 4 years so either we were something special or they lowered the bar drastically. In the cold light of day I think my degree certainly wasnt worth the hassle and stress it caused. it all started going downhill when they brought in this tuition fee malarky. I believe pre 1998 you were subject to more strenous interviews or maybe even had to follow the yankee example and had to write essays saying why they should take you because the Unis were only given a certain amount of cash and had to show proper results at the end of it. Now its all about how many students you can get £2000 - £9000 a year out of and results have taken a back step. My course was meant to have a total of 15 places. They let in 35. The other section was meant to have 50 places but they let in 90. I cant believe that was the only one. However I have a slight prejudice to any degrees that arent essentially job titles. Doesnt matter when you got them, yer all a waste of space And anyone who says they are 'reading' a subject is a fuckwit IMO
  16. Nah Motherwell wont at both Ibrox and fir park Hibs only managed a win and a draw at Easter Road
  17. Trip to champions league chasing Newcastle and then finishing up at home against relegation battling QPR as opposed to Man Us home match against Swansea and finishing away to Sunderland - 2 teams who have little other than pride to play for This is far from over
  18. Its a nice 'black & white' view of how things would have turned out but doesnt take into account the human factor Any team in that period of time could have been on a good run then unfortunatley had to go to ibrox and been on the end of a shite result which knocked them off the rails and allowed us or the Tic etc to pull clear. This is why im optimistic that should yon currants vanish within a few seasons celtic would be knocked off their high horse because they wouldnt have their friends across town to trip them up
  19. is she married to Szcz?sny? Or are you suggesting that he would jump ship from North London because one of his fellow countryman now works in a north east Supermarket?
