  1. Its a new feature on the BBC It allows you to view the match through the eyes of Glasgowsheep after a megabus trip up from Glasgow
  2. In or Oot : In. Furry Boots : No idea. Probably the RDU (first time at Pittodrie since October 28th 2007) Pre Matcher: Megabus then some random pub with 2 (possibly 3) other cunts Post Matcher: Train with said cunts Prediction : 1-0 to someone
  3. 10.4M annual income tax bill. Be amazed if the arabs have any cock left after Cameron and Osborne are done
  4. Or if you look at it another way if you go to 18 home games its AFC down £126 Are you saying you wouldnt go to any games if you didnt buy a season ticket? If you went to just 9 as a full paying adult the club would be up £198 My problem was not with people taking advantage of the clubs lack of effort in trying to police the concession malarky. My problem is with the utopian suggestion that fans will happily pay extra for anything (in this case alcohol at a pub near the stadium) if it meant it helped fund the club to bigger and better things. The student season ticket game is a classic example that when it comes down to it, everyone will take advantage of a situation if it means saving themselves money (me included).
  5. The whole point was this was a legal precident. the first time that someone committed a crime whilst technically insane but declared cured before the case went to trial. Under english law the judge could only send her to a secure hospital if at the end of the trial she was still class as insane and a danger to herself or to the public. In this case she was declared sane so the secure hosptial option was out and he doesnt have the power to call for further supervision(her condition was apparenlty a temporary one according to the phychiatrists) However he also couldnt give her the full sentance for manslaughter because when it happened she had been declared mentally unstable. Had he sent her to jail for the maximum term the defence would have had her out on appeal in a matter of months. His hands were tied because he couldnt let her go free but also couldnt give her the sentence the crime warranted. I think the only reason he could give her 5 years was because both the prosecution and defence accepted it. Tis one of those situations in which they have to re-write the law books incase it happens again
  6. Who knows? Speculate to accumulate etc. The club will have to buy extra land to build these new pubs etc anyway so perhaps they could do a mix. Use 1/3, rent out or sell off the rest when it suits them
  7. it is no more mental than the suggestion of building a selection of pubs that will only be open for match days and possibly rented out on the odd occasion. A licensing nightmare and also a logistical headache (new commercial development = new car parking, servicing, feasibility studies, police intervention regarding segregation of supporters, local transport links, public consultations. If we own it and Cove continues to extend (which it will) then the club suddenly have prime real estate to sell or lease. And then it is up to those wanting to build to show how the land can be developed.
  8. Better idea for the club to make cash without the hassle of running pubs. The old tesco/ Disney trick. Start buying plots of land in the immediete vicinity of the new stadium and then lease those plots to whatever business wants to build on them. Anyone you dont want building there hasnt got a chance and anyone who does will provide a steady income. Can also be a big pay off should Cove continue to extend and barrats or miller want to build flats or a certain supermarket decide to come a calling.
  9. For the club to even consider throwing in ideas for extra bars etc around the stadium would be a potential planning disaster. Get the planning permission for the stadium through first and then worry about how pissed your fans can get. AFC start throwing ideas for anything other than this stadium at this moment and suddenly this project will grow legs and extra opposition can arise where it was previously dismissed. The local planning committee start asking questions, couple of well to do people who are 'friends of a counciler' get in with the local residents who then form a protest group concerned about drunk football fans hanging around well after the game has finished IE anti social behaviour. The upshot of this is even though the planning application is just for the stadium complex it is delayed or the club and designers have to start chopping and changing things at extra expense just incase they think about trying to build a pub or little retail park nearby. (incase you are wondering this is happening to one of our clients on a smaller scale at the moment and all it took was one person starting a rumour in a pub). I do get the impression some people think everyone will happily pay a surcharge on a pint so long as its going to AFC. Are these the same people who openly boast about blagging concession season tickets or complain about the prices in the club shop? You watch. If theres any opportunists with a bit of cash ill bet there will be a number of planning applications for extensions to local bars/ hotels or for a couple of wetherspoons in the immediete vicinity of the stadium the moment constructon starts. And ill lay a bet those bars will make far more money than the stadiums bar because the pints will be cheaper
  10. Nice to see the important things are being discussed Im more concerned about the actual arena part. I wont be pleased if we end up with bad views, and no legroom (Darlingtons new ground springs to mind). But since thats a warrant issue I very much doubt we will see many drawings for that posted on the website.
  11. Is that what it means in Dundonald?
  12. yes It appears they usually win by single goal margins. Always gives us hope of a last minute equaliser
  13. Dont recall a major effort by the club to attract new season ticket holders or to keep the old ones. A season in which the fans were openly criticised by the players, management and club. Several reports of players openly stating they couldnt give a shit about playing for the club Getting dumped out of the cups by Raith Rovers, Sigma, Dundee and not even looking close to challenging for a top half finish. A season in which I was given a free ticket to the 3-1 defeat at Falkirk from one of the clubs staff because he would rather have wandered around the town that watch the game. (Wonder how many other staff tickets were given away that day or any day for that matter?) A pre season record which reads won 2, drawn 2, lost 3 which from what i can gather the team appear to look just as dis-interested as last season. I used to get postal requests for me and my dad to consider buying our season tickets again. Neither of us have heard anything from the club even though they have our details on the database.
  14. Supposedly some of those charming fifers took a few pieces of the stand home with them too
  15. Russell Anderson playing for derby vs leeds on BBC1 now currently 2-1 to the rams Disappointing crowd at Elland road too. TV coverage ruining the game again?
  16. Where were you watching it?
  17. BBC reporter has a funny way of looking at things 'Hibs got off to a fantastic start...blah blach blah they had 3 shots on goal. Now in my book a fantastic start is scoring in the first 5mins and not conceiding within the first 20mins.
  18. I see now the BBC have taken to putting up little videos of players scoring goals to 'demonstrate' why they were signed. First I thought it was just those who signed for celtic but now they have one for Macdonald and whats classics they are too
  19. Until it is proved mcghee can field 11 guys who all 'give a fuck' i say those votes are not just cynicism
  20. Are you shagging camilla?
  21. The kiss of death for many a standups 'stand up' career is getting a TV show. Well yes you get lots and lots of cash for a while but suddenly you dont have time to write new material because your too busy filming. So sooner or later you people start to get a bit pissed off with paying upwards of £50 to see you tell the same jokes they've seen you tell on TV on almost a monthly basis (thanks to channels like Dave). The double edge sword to this is with TV shoes they have to relying on 'scriptwriters' just incase they dare say anything that may upset somene (Be offended. Its good for you. It allows you to grow!!!) And as with Michael Macintyre, Frankie Boyle, Jason manford, Russell Howard, etc they're touring days will come to a halt with a bang. If they are smart they will get out while they are still at the top of their game or in the case of manford become a teatime TV host (those gigs tend to last much longer than comedy). Then of course you have the likes of Andy parsons who I still have no fucking Idea why he is even classed as a comic. Or am I weird in believing a joke is funnier when the punchline isnt explained to you? I will be interested to see what people think of peter Kays upcoming tour. After all the arrogant cunt gave himself a year to think up the jokes.
  22. At the risk of generalising if hes a commentator for BBC sussex, UK wise hes probably never been north of Watford and until today probably 99% of his listeners couldnt point to Aberdeen on a map. But in his defence Id never heard of the name Zander till he turned up for Aberdeen. Id met a Xander as in short for Alexander but ive been assured that this is not the case with mr and mrs Diamonds boy. So there was actual commentary? I had it on Iplayer and all it seemed to be was a bit of traffic news, random stints of reports from nearby friendlies (inc ours) indispensed with music, so I went out. Tis no wonder Sportsound gets all the awards
